Most of these things are sensible for any EV or general car :) Top tips from a top bloke.
Thanks very much
Great list! I had forgotten you had some of these, and it was a great reminder of items people don’t initially think about, but become must-haves once you know about them.
Glad it was helpful!
Another interesting and hugely useful vid. Thanks so much. Not just for Ami drivers, but I as an electric car owner find all your tips so useful. Thanks again and keep it up.
Glad you enjoyed it
I was a trifle worried when the two guys pulled up next to Elton. I thought they were going to put a clamp on the Ami, which would have been both hilarious and disastrous... 😂😂
I thought they was going to Tow it Away on a Transporter.! 😂👍
Yes, or they would pick it up to sweep the roadside! 😂😂
It all went a bit pear shaped as usual!
The Top Don is a brilliant device , i watch a show called Chops Garage on youtube and when hes gone to buy 2nd hand cars sometimes they will have a dead battery from being sat around so long so the top Don is a life saver in that regard too.
Yup it’s a great bit of kit
You are such a sales man🎉 I guess you could sell anything to me. And with Mr. Boo's smile and Twiggy's waving tale - I'm done! 😂
You’ve got more gadgets then the gadget show 😂 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I’ve always been a big gadgetty!
Love the gadgets shown. Thanks.
@@user-ju6ud4go6b Thanks
@@MeandMonAmi the A team is less prepared then you two 😂
@@bobbyrudki3851 you should see Elton when loaded with the camera equipment etc…
great top tips but my top tip wound be first aid kit .love to you both.
Yup and I think we have one in the horse box at the bottom (but I’m not sure!)
@@MeandMonAmi love all way and keep charged.
Thank you for including our HandiWorld HandiRack on your list!
Our pleasure! We used it again today
Thanks Tim, good accessories for any vehicle, not just the Ami. At 3:30, in addition to the "Tyre Bomb" sealant, I might suggest a small puncture patch tool kit, the ones with strips of gooey rubber and and Tool to insert them into larger punctures the cans of sealant don't usually seal.
Thanks will look into that.
Thnx! I just watched your vid once again and then noticed that you probably said that it is USB-A
Top tips Tim! If your tyre sealant is in a pressurised tin it shouldn't be stored above 50c so if you leave Elton in the sun take it out. Some sealants are non-pressurised, you attach one end to the tyre valve and the other to your tyre pump.
I’d wondered about that. Thanks
Good Tip! In America, we have some fluorescent Goeey Green stuff in a squeeze bottle called SLIME. That has chunks of rubber that seals larger holes that the thin pressurized stuff can't, so that may be an added benefit of the non pressurized sealants.
Hi lads from Spain where, at 7pm, it is still 35°. Here if we have a problem such as a flat tyre, we just telephone the car insurance people and they send a breakdown truck, pick up the car and us and take us to a tyre place where the tyre can be fixed or even replaced.
That’s handy. hope it cools down soon. Today was lovely here. Clear and a normal 27
Think you used the blow up roof rack to take a plastic rocking chair tied to the roof of the Ami 🤣 to a boot sale to sell for the new camera for the channel.
Another useful video. 👍👍👍
We did! And we still have the chair!
Thank you for finally telling me who provides a good portion of your soundtrack--The Devil's Sway. I've spent hours searching lyrics and humming the tune for ID apps.
Glad I could help!
Excellent as ever.
Thanks Liam
@@MeandMonAmi What interests me is that you use, with success, unknown or relatively unknown brands. I am a bit conservative and worry about their reliability. I am going to try out lesser known stuff. It seems to work for you.
@@liamh9814 I tend to go on the number of Amazon reviews (I know they can be diddled a bit) but it seems to work.
@@MeandMonAmi I shall give that approach a try, thank you. It strikes me that many of the big brands, such as Logitech, are simply rebadging and marketing the much cheaper brands.
I now can swim like a paddle board or a kayak/canoe. Hope that can show u one day.
Thank you great information there 🙂 very handy ☺️
Thanks Nicky
Great video.Really good ideas for any small car owner.Even for motorbike riders.
Thanks very much. There is some cross over for sure
Really love your videos and adventures! Any chance that you might do a video about how you came to move to the South of France and every day living there?
That was really fascinating. A nice little trip down Elton's memory lane. Thanks so much! 🤗
Wonderful informative video. Some/most of those items are useful even if you don't have an Ami.
Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
nice job i like you vids because of you i bought one ami
Excellent. Hope you are enjoying?
I suppose this video is made before the accident at Grasse.... Very informative, thank you! Especially that musquito thingy! Never seen that one.... does it function with some sort of poisonous gas? Anyway hope you both are doing well after 'the incident' last Sunday! ❤
Well it gives out a smoke a little like the rings you burn to keep them away. We’ve used the plug ins inside for years and they work but there’s definitely an emission..
What a Very Good Informative Episode. I so Love watching what you Upload.
Glad you enjoy it!
Be aware that the tyre gunk will right off your tyre so you won’t be able to have it repaired.
If your sealant is water based foam the tyre can be repaired.
I did of course mean write-off…funny how you notice things after you’ve posted!! 😳
@@twogoonsonanadventure......happens to all of us.... But you're right about that sealing method 🙂
But if it costs a tyre to get you out of trouble so be it
great ideas. thank you.
Nice review, thank you, love the updates. 👍
Glad you like them!
Hi Tim
Bought tyre inflator but it isn't a power pack, also bought Topdon perfect, thanks for great ideas,👍
Really? I think our version is. Glad you like the Top don it’s very handy I think
Useful, but well timed video I was looking for some of the accessories you reviewed
Glad it was helpful!
I'd add that if you do use one of those emergency tyre sealer things, then your tyre is almost always toast afterwards.
Yup thanks a few people have pointed that out and it worth knowing
Could you test a small vacation or haul trailer with the Citroen Ami? What if you want to bring along essential gear or supplies but there isn’t enough storage room in the Ami itself to carry it? That might be worth looking into if you can find a trailer adapter to attach to the Ami. You want something small, lightweight and portable because a U-Haul trailer is too big, weighs too much and impractical for what you want to carry. That would extend its capabilities and provide you with storage options in the future.
One is not allowed to pull a trailer with a 45 km/h car! I have asked this just last week at the Automobile Club here in the Netherlands. Then again, I don't think the Ami have enough power to do so!
@@richardbas2948 A bicycle type or lightweight trailer would be suitable. I would think with around 50 K or less, the Ami could pull along a small to moderate-sized load but we all agree extremely heavy loads are beyond what’s its capable of not to mention being exceedingly dangerous!
@@NormanF62 I would say, ask the authorities... I heard it's not aloud!
How would you tow it? As I don’t think it has a tow hitch.
I had thought of a lightweight AMI trailer a while back, to haul light stuff and an extra battery, and looking at images of the rear frame it looked like a mount could be attached pretty easily.
As far as performance, EV's have a lot of low-end Torque so added weight does not seem to effect acceleration as much as one might think. I have a single wheel Yakima bike trailer I've used on a 1500w eBike, and when I loaded the trailer with about 18Kgs of gear, I hardly noticed the difference in acceleration, or stopping for that matter.
For the solar cover have search on the web for plastic magnets 😊
Thanks Ian
Surprised you have not come back on to swear at me since there is no way to use a magnet on plastic sorry I am evil and could not resist it lol
Very useful video! Thank you. Greetings from regular viewers/subscribers in Spain - Myself and Ralph the Lurcher and Kevin the cat.
Great name for a lurcher!
@@MeandMonAmi Ta chuck.
Great video. I've just installed a USB hub above the windscreen in my van - to power an LED light (as the plastic surround on the original one split due to heat fatigue) and a blutooth speaker. I like the idea of getting a Carpuride system, though. Will have to save up for that. Perhaps not something to leave on display while parked up though? (I do live in the Ile de France afterall).
I really need to get one of those bombe anti-crevaison things, so a very good point. On your list I've made two very similar purchases from our local Lidl over the last few years... a wheel pump, alas not one with a battery pack (although I could power it using my Allpowers S200 using a cigarette lighter adapter)... as well as my old battery pack, which came with two crocodile clips to jump start a 12v battery.
All in all some interesting stuff that would suit my vans cab too!
Merci beaucoup et bonne continuation à tous les deux!
Merci. We’re realising there’s a fair bit of crossover between ami life and van life!
@@MeandMonAmi Bluetooth speaker installed this afternoon using that extra strong velcro. 👍🏻
Well, that was most useful! Thanks. Just one comment ...The most annoying and akward aspect of any tyre pump is the clip at the end if the hose which connects with the tyre valve. Most are a fiddle to attach and inevitably release air which is the last thing you need! So, caveat emptor ...Thanks!
It’s true!
The Tyre Inflator would be excellent to fit inside the Boot of any Car.! Because the ones l have seen on Amazon & Ebay are Big & Bulky.! Another Very Good and informative Video from Me and Mon Ami.! Keep Up Your Amazing Videos.!
P.S. What is the Title of the Song that you Played and Who is it by.? I have grown to like this Song since Hearing it Played on your Me and Mon Ami Video's.! Take Care Both.! 👍
Thanks it’s La Belle Epoque by the Devil’s Sway
I wonder if there is any portable solar panel that you might use to even partially charge the Ami in an emergency? Maybe something you can stick onto the roof?
Check out some of our other charging vids I do this but it’s rather slow and you can’t charge the car directly
Greetings, do you have any suggestions for a waterproof cover for the Ami? Your other items suggested have been gratefully received. Thank you.
I haven’t tried a waterproof one I’m afraid but the heat one we are testing is proving useful
@@MeandMonAmi Thanks for that, I will bite the bullet with the xs one from Halfords, I tug mine on a small trailer that I had built for my camping trips, regards Edward
Great list! I am SURPRISED there's no interior lighting, wow.
Thanks. They really cut the corner to keep the price low I think
There is not even an interior mirror. This is bare bone to the max. However, it is easy to pimp it out to the max but it might cost a bit. Or a lot.
once you use the repair foam, the tire will not be repairable anymore.
anyway, most of the items are really useful not only for Ami but for all cars, thank you guys.
Thanks. Yes a few people have pointed that out and it’s good to know. I still think it’s probably cheaper to buy new than call out a tow truck here though
What about that canine? How does that fit in?
Tiny Accessory!
Dearest Tim & Mr. Boo: is the USB connector in the Ami the larger USB-A (the one that you always plug-in ‘wrong) or the smaller USB-C type?
It’s usb A
@@MeandMonAmi thank you so much for your trouble!!!
Another great video as always 👍👍❤️
Thank you! Cheers!
Let's face it Tim, the most valuable tiny accessory you have is Twiggy!
Now that is very true!
I've seen Citroen Ami's with roof rails on pictures. Couldn't one create a kind of Sahara roof with those against the heat? Like the Land Rover could be equipped with?
Sadly they are just decorative and have no strength but I think a Sahara roof could be a good idea if its do-able
How to connect a carpuride? To the little 12v battery? What speaker will fit to this setup? How to use it without a headunit which have an integrated amplifier for speakers?
It would be so wonderful to have this in the tiny car but I don‘t understand the setup.
Did you see our dedicated video on the Carpuride?
@@MeandMonAmi yes, i saw it but I think the most users don‘t have this huge external battery driving around.
Perhaps there ist already one user who solved this.
Ok, speaker via BT or 3,5mm. I was hoping for a different idea. Something more like a car.
Ahhh well, could buy all of them except the AMI 🤓
That is annoying!
Why don't you use your supertape to secure your roof rack strap away from your eyeline?
Good idea! Or Velcro!
La caboutia?
The inflation can is a poor choice. The cost of a proper repair and cleaning the tyre and wheel of the gunk can cost as mush as a new tyre. Much better off with a plug kit. Find the puncture, plug it and drive off.
Thanks that’s good to know
👍🌞
Do you still have the 3D printer to print your missing tooth? Didn't see any update 😅
Yes but it’s printing Citroen ami parts
Sorry...just a very short comment....once you use the foam tyre inflator/repair, that tyre can not be repaired after...you must buy a new tyre....so if it was just a nail in the tyre...too bad, has to be replaced.
I think still cheaper/more convenient than a tow truck here
Faffariffic.
