Coyote Gulch is such an incredible trip. I can see how it would make an impression. That entire area is amazing. Had one of my 'Zen moments' just down the road at Reflection Canyon once. I'll never forget it. Sitting there, the lake smooth as glass, sipping coffee and watching the sun rise feeling like the only person on earth. That's why we do this stuff, right?
Reflection is on my list, just haven’t ventured that far down the road in my adult years. I’m sure that moment was amazing, and you’re absolutely right!
That is what it is all about! Making memories and having fun. The challenging trips always seen to be the ones you remember most too. Dang, that water is cold this time of year to be playing in. I'll bet you couldn't wait to get dried off and warmed up at camp each night. Great trip, Devin. Have a great day.
I really appreciate you sharing your unique insight and perspective on life and the outdoors in your videos. Years ago, I used to follow tons of backpackers on UA-cam because I was craving all the content, but now I've whittled it down to a few main creators, where I watch any trip video they post because they tend to have a philosophical approach to life and the outdoors, and they share the unique wisdom they gain from their experiences. I find that meaningful because its what I gain from my time in the outdoors as well. This video was a joy to watch, thank you for sharing!!
Great November trip to GSENM! Some high water in there! We all have those places that sparked the fire that burns as hunger for us to continue to see these places and have these experiences! My grandfather introduced me to the Uintas as a kid. To complete the Uinta Highline Trail this summer was for sure going full circle out there for me! We sure had our fair share of Type 2 moments! From a 20 year rain event to losing a toe nail at the halfway point definitely tested me good! You don’t know what you’ve got till you give it your all. We need to do a desert trip someday! Hope you and the family are well!
Coyote gulch's views never get old. Glad to see the Native American Artifacts are all there still, many years after I went. So neat to see the old Astro photo of yours. Climbing up and down near the Arch to exit is such a fun experience.
Beautiful trip! That sure was cold water! Great to hear your thoughts about the impact that being out in nature and working towards a goal had on you, and how it helped shape your future. Loved seeing the area! 👌👍👍
So lucky to have great outdoor experiences in this area with other young men and leaders willing to take on that responsibility. Huge blessing for many kids.
Many thanks for sharing your experiences, stories, memories and the arid beauty of our gorgeous state. We spend a lot if time in Kanab, Utah and thoroughly love Buckskin Gultch, but I’ve never been to Coyote Gultch. You’ve added a destination to my bucket list and have made my day!!! Many thanks and keep on sharing this content.
What an amazing trip and equally beautiful video of it! It’s so much fun to be able to look back on important trips and to experience them in the same place but through different eyes. And you had some pretty great company along this time. Would love to hike with you and Jim some day!
Went here in June. Had a very similar feeling winding my way down that river. Magical and unreal. Thanks for sharing your experiences, and making me relive the sneaker route :D.
Dude, Great edit man. Loved it. Cool to go back to old stomping grounds and re-live it. I often wish I could go back into the woods in NC where I spent a good portion of my childhood after Germany running amok in the woods and doing kid adventure huck finn stuff. Great vid mano.
Great concept for a video! Jim IS the man! Lol. I saw Justin's/Steven's vids from earlier in the year as well, looks familiar 🤣 I'll need to put this spot on my bucket list 👍
What a great video! Love seing the trip videos as opposed to gear videos. Coyote Gulch to Jacob Hamblin Arch is one of my favorite hikes I've EVER done. I did it as a long day hike though, in retrospect it would've been nice to take my time and camp for a night. Also love that both of you have X-Mids. I'm guessing you'll do a review of the Pro 2. I have both that and the X-Mid 2P and they are by far the best tents I've used.
I enjoy the Escalante region so much, that I rarely day hike the area and try to spend as much time there as possible when I go. Yes, eventually there will be a review of the Pro. Thanks!
There’s a few reasons not to. This particular canyon gets overcrowded in the summer, making it hard to find a spot to camp that isn’t shared with other big groups. Bugs are nasty, and it’s just miserably hot.
I am planning on doing this hike for the first time sometime next summer. What way did you enter and exit? It looks like different ways. Probably will do it in 3 days 2 nights. Love your videos keep up the good work.
Thanks! We did it as a loop. Parked at 40 Mile Ridge, and went in at crack in the wall. Camped along the Escalante for night 1, then hiked up to Jacob Hamblin Arch for night 2. We exited out the Sneaker Route and walked cross country back to the car.
Such a fun trip. It was really an honor to visit a place that is so meaningful to you. Thanks for letting me tag along!
Thanks for coming along, for good conversation and being good company on the trail!
Just subscribed to your channel Jim

Love that, Christian!

I thought about you when going past the sandy section above the boulders.
Looks like it was a great trip, beautiful scenery

Well done Devin and Jim! So glad you could revisit some fond memories with this one.
Where did you guys start/finish?
I felt the connection as you camped at JHA
You're pretty!
I love this place have been there twice and will come there again!
Really well done, Devin!
Amazing video about an amazing place. Let’s share a campsite for real sometime soon!
Yes please!
Fun little hike!
Thanks!
Lovely 😊
Sounds like a place you be better off hiking in the summer

My “place” is Big Bend National Park. Very nice video.
I literally paused this video about 4 minutes in to go back to Steven's video to see if it was the same place haha
This has been on my bucketlist for a while now. When did you do this trip?
First weekend of November.
Definitely wasn’t a rope last time I was there (years ago with lance lawrence) on the exit, or entrance in our case.
Which trail do you recommend taking?
hiya!-man!awesome ~see you on my side,

One of the best videos i've ever seen. Sub based on this!!
