Did same work on a car. I recommend using an INK ERASER to very lightly clean the surfaces where contact is made by the small contactors. You have to do it very lightly to just remove any small imperfections in the areas where the contactors make contact. I also used 90% alcohol to clean the parts before reassembly. Car ran perfectly after that!
Contact cleaner, never rub your finger over the resistive track like that, the acid/oils in your fingers will now wear that part even faster than before. spray contact cleaner on both the pins and the strips, and wipe gently with a lint-free cloth. Also, mark where the screws are in the casing before removing the screws, otherwise, you will need to make sure you can retrain the pedal. most cars have a retrain mode activated via odbII, if you don't retrain and you don't screw it back in exactly the same position as before then the resting position will have a slightly higher or lower resistance than before.
WD-40. In 12 years of working as an auto electrician diagnostician, I have never met an accelerator pedal malfunction, but everything happens for the first time. Much more often, the pedal error had a cause in the UEC connector, (the center of the under-hood electrics). Oxides on the connector contacts, they are not visible to the eye. Sometimes it is enough just to remove and put on the connector. For prevention, sprinkle WD-40.
These black tracks are graphite printed. They are applied in volume controls of various electronic devices. They are delicate. If they show defects in acceleration, change it soon, as the lanes are unrepairable. OK!
I agree and I don't think it was wise of him to add tension to the wiping contacts either, This is also a common problem with the Technics SL1200 series turntable pitch controls!

Great clip! You helped me do the same to my Opel Zafira A accelerator pedal. It was sometimes losing acceleration and was lagging behind (not responsive enough). Everything was fixed after I cleaned it. Thanks!
@@icku,, ok thanks for awesome video you put on UA-cam. I have a gmh Holden Commodore sv8 5.7litre V8 here in Australia. It is going into safety mode yet its not throwning any codes when it goes into safety mode. I have been told by heaps of other people and other mechanics that it may be a pedal could be the issue as this was the first fly by wire that holden ever made and the pedal was a huge problem. I do luv the car as i bought i from my mums inheritance and luv driving it but due to it going into safety mode it is getting annoying to drive and this goes into limp mode anywhere it feels like it (but mainly at bus stops though , haha) and can be very embarrassing too. Do you know where i could seach for the part or could give me an idea on what part number to chase up so i can fix it. Thanks in Advance and Cheers from John , in Australia.
OK HE CLENED IT BUT WHAT WAS THE CAR PRBLEM DOING THIS DO I HAVE TO RESET IT AGAIN OR JUST PUT IT AND WILL IT WORK OR TAKE IT TO DEALER SO THEY CAN RESET IT AGAIN PLEASE REPLY THANKS
The light should go out after cleaning but you can disconnect your battery and it will clear the ECU of the codes. If the light comes back, you with have to troubleshoot the circuit again and isolate the issue.
Hello what was your ODB error message please ? I do not have any error message but my ODB show me a 16% value when the motor car is just switched ON. I think it is because of the "slow motion motor "...what is your opinion Sir ? Thanks you
My swift 2009 diesel accelrstor sensor is not working. Can it be repaired. I got it checked from maruti workshop. They don't have this part I'm their store
Why did you not reclean the board after you put your thumbs on it? I NEVER chance touching any metal part of the board, unless I clean it after touching it. Better safe than sorry.
Cleaning helps but does not solve. Clean and use a pencil 6B or 8B afterwards. The grease pencil will restore the contacts. ONLY these way you can fix FOREVER the problem. Is it possible that no one understands how these potentiometers really work?
It seems your are one of these guys not understanding how they work. Applying graphite will change the resistance of the potentiometer paths. You can never apply same amount of graphite on the pads/paths - those are layed by machine. So if you do it by hand will end up with one path having more of less graphite then the other/more or less resistance. The ECU is monitoting the voltage drop on two paths if I remember correctly and due to different resistance you will get different voltage - resulting in ECU spewing error codes. A really bad idea ;)

You forgot to sign before opening the cover because the screw holes are ovales. After close the cover you must to follow the sign.
This helped a lot as the sensor portion is almost the same as a Saab 9-3s

Very good - did you repair work - or did you replace part for a new one ?
It worked - problem reseolved.

So, did it work?
Very good video. This what I was looking for. Has the problem occurred again?
Nope, its working like charm for now.
@@icku A question: Did it need to be reset after this?
If electronic accelerator pedal have play (loose gap) then it will effect the fuel average or not?
No, it won't.
