- We are still waiting to check out the new Honda Civic on our favorite mountain run, but Honda Malaysia gave us a Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo for the Chinese New Year holidays (thank you very much, Honda Malaysia), and so we just had to do another Genting run, and this time we went all the way to the top. Coincidentally this was the very same car we reviewed previously, so for me it was a bit of a Deja Vu drive. Still, every drive is different, and everyday, it is different, weather conditions, traffic conditions, road conditions, etc, so every drive is a new adventure even if it is in the same car.
Along the way, we had a rare opportunity to do a brake check - see if you can spot where it was that I had to literally stand on the brakes - further proof that we should never take other drivers for granted, and must always be alert and maintain that little bit of reserve at all times. No worries, we had it all under control.

When is civic FE review?
Very skilled driving, control and braking but don't think my heart can handle the adrenaline rush of the high speed driving. Nevertheless, very nice to watch your driving and listen to you commenting while you drive.
I was at Kepong area lately, surprise to see a numbered of Accord owners happily driving around… spec, features and price wise… its the Accord 1.5 TC-P to be picked up compare to Camry 2.5V… even Camry also hardly seen one on the road… D segment sedan its getting rare regardless of any brands…
hmm in PJ there is more Camry than Accord. In my neighbourhood alone there is already a few Camrys. Hardly see Accord.

Nice driving. I have a 1.5t Accord Sport US. I never heard my cvt sound like that before. I selected this model due to the great fuel economy it provides. 60 miles round trip for work 5 days a week. Getting 37-39 mile per gallon.
Yes, the fuel economy is great.
When is civic fe test otr?
I have the Honda Accord Sport Special Edition 1.5 in the United States, as well and I couldn't be happier with it. It is well built and the engine is powerful yet fuel efficient. I'm very satisfied with this model.

So many exposed hillslopes - really hope for the next heavy rainfall doesn’t make it worse

Not too sure, but it did no harm.

The Camry is more comfortable, Accord is a bit faster. Camry more premium

No. That’s how it sounds in sports mode. The whine is gone when in eco and normal mode
Accord vs Civic FE. Cant wait for the comparison. Same engine, handling almost same (??), power to weight ratio civic is better. Better buy civic, if bootspace is your priority take Accord. Eitherway, easy to maintain, sparepart abundance. Best buy with HIP! any accident all driver covered!
seat is different..accord is more comfortable. handling civic won big..big car like accord cannot dancing at corner. u will feel the bodyweight if corner too hard.

I'm super surprised how come Uncle YS didn't get irritated by the CVT noise or is it the microphone which is specifically picking up that noise perfectly ?
It was quite okay for me.
when i test drove this car i felt that the gearbox was a bit too noisy... reminds me of proton's punch CVT sound actually... for me the design language of honda is horrendous because all the models look the same but if these 2 things along with the infotainment system isn't a big issue then its actually a good car to drive daily and weekends
proton cvt really horrible. noisy but no go. and och is time bomb.
what about the ground clearence for this car? Do you find it easy to get out of the car?

That is why we must always be careful, and keep your eyes open. But we had plenty of space to spare, so all was okay.

Noisy whining gearbox, and the ride seems to be pretty harsh. NVH doesn't seem to be *that* good either. Perhaps that's why Camrys and even VW Passats are all over our roads but we hardly see any of the new Accords around.

Literally stood on the brakes. Most people don't brake hard enough. If you listen carefully you can hear the ABS kicking in.

@@agmsvc2302 correct...10 AT used planetary final drive...i used to drive k20 with gt2835 but malaysias climate is too hot...now just done swapping my dc5 with k24 cl9s 6mt...no heat problem since it has longer stroke...
From my opinion the power is really good with excellent handling after few times drove up to the Genting by my 2021 Accord TCP.

We were in a lower gear for max power, so it is different from relaxed driving.
Its sad to see this new accord is rare item on teh road.

@@fauzanashraf5410 One thing I noticed is the Accord brakes seem to be so powerful. Great brakes to stop from 160 to 60 within few seconds. I'm not sure if it's the braking performance or Uncle's timely response and pressure on the pedal.

Test drive accord today...the CVT gearbox like shit...so frustrated with the CVT performance...noisy as well...tested the new Civic..110% btter CVT gearbox..and handling

I was not worried about spoiling the speed, more worried about being defensive and prevent any incident.
Yes that bloody Preve guy spoilt it otherwise Uncle may have touched 180 kmh. The fastest Uncle has driven based on his videos I'd watched is 170+ with Arteon and Passat R Line. Today that record could have been broken if only that Preve idiot wasn't there

At the moment Camry, because of the wishbone suspension which gives better ride comfort, new engine, and towkay features of rear seat. The Accord offers better torque. Fuel economy is similar.

Take your pick. The Accord has better power, due to higher torwue. The Camry is more comfortable and has more features, especially the rear passenger comfort features, plus dynamic force engine and 8 speed trans.

Dont ever do that. Where did you learn such nonsense? That is only for use in very muddy or sandy areas and NEVER at high speed.

on asphalt equal to call tow truck as soon as possible.... Because do that will explode tyre quick and dangerous especially on hill or mountain pass like this

D segment cars are just not worth it in Malaysia while everyone in the world is getting 250hp D segments we're still here we under 200hp
The question is whether we need or use all of it.
cvt is uttery shitty rubbish transmission no matter how efficient and good it is. i sold my car with cvt within a year although i had to lose some money. goodbye f cvt!
