- TODAY we have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT that will make a huge impact on our #Vanlife!! We are gonna build a campervan out of this Toyota Hiace Diesel 2.5 ex-military van.
After building our first DIY #Campervan we travelled around #Malaysia and Thailand for 2 years and we hope to forge forward into 2020 with Mama Bear Grizzly - a Toyota Hiace 2.5 Diesel.

Eugene Ng engine spareparts and mechanics who are willing to fix them. Toyota builds bullet proof engines and ours is a common rail engine no turbo diesel, low maintenance.

@@24hourtravellers Hi, I am looking to start a business in Malaysia, and one of the van models that I am considering for is the LiteAce. You guys have bought a second hand van, refurbished it and driven it across Peninsular Malaysia, which I would also do if I manage to purchase the right van, albeit to transport goods.
The reason I ask is that with a new van, the first van is not needed anymore, unless for redundancy purposes.

Advise from me is get a van you can stand inside..it is very advisable. ..in malaysia you cannot install a pop up roof..by jpj any vehicle roof or side structure cut, will be confiscated.
No plans with pop top if there's no jpj approval. Our goal is to drive to uk with this vehicle with it has a bullet proof engine.
24 Hour Travellers if it's a new vehicle than yes it due about 100, 000 km that is also subjective to servicing every few thousand km. In a old or used vehicle you need to rebuild the engine and drive terrain. Also brakes , steering rack and suspension. All of this is subjected to wear and tear. Need to remove all moving parts disassemble , change seal , grease and change what ever parts faulty, install back and drive a few thousand km make sure its road worthy then you can build the cabin.

May I ask why did you perform engine overhaul in the first place? I was told if the engine does not exhibit any abnormal condition (consume too much fuel, engine oil, white smoke etc), there is no need to overhaul the engine.
We didn't overhaul this engine. All is good. Just serviced the fuel pump. This Van was parked in a yard many months not moving.
