Finally a Malaysian Chinese doing this. Its incredible how you made things work with only 3k inclusive of solar panels and inverter! If you have a chance to reply, please let me know if the solar panel serves you well.. I mean its not cheap and high maintenance, also outputs depends on weather. For insulation can you mention what type did you use and where to get them?

Yvonne Loh hi ~yvonne ~ actually u can find the cheap price solar panel in malaysia ~ we think about its not cheap just bcoz we dun no how to install it ~ so vanlife give me a chance to study how to connect the system together ~ and theres alot of video to show us how to do it by ourself ~ then i just only spend about rm700 for the solar system includes like panel ,controller and car battery ~ thats it ~so dun worry about the question just try to solve it ~ haha

Abdul Latif Mamat local and china online shop~and of coz on our mudah.com~ it’s different and cheaper than the house use solar panel ~ so everything just simple ~ solar panel > easy use controllers > battery

1. camper dia almost 100% wood, saya notice (7:32) battery storage dia also wood. mungkin dia boleh letak aluminium sheet as cover takut battery tuh spark (maybe). so tak la terbakar van tuh

Hi Bryan, usually Alan will answer here. I can't remember how his water inside works but for the outdoor sink it's a solar shower bag you can purchase from the internet Lazada.

Great sharing. Great campervan. Great job. Wondering about safety issues. Where do you normally park and sleep at night besides R&Rs? Do you run out of places to visit?
You never run out of places to visit. Yes we do sleep in RnR if there is no other option. Mainly wild camp in middle of nowhere. City centre is where danger lies. Kampungs are generally quiet. Have your wits about and you will know how to determine safety.

I have a question, do you need to get special license or a approval to modify/ convert your vans into a camper like that? How about road tax?
Panel Vans are for company use only. Passenger vans are recreational. Some people remove all seats and use it as a work van as these are the ones the police will stop at road blocks. Work vans have to be company registered. In My Campervan Malaysia Group on Facebook, you can post more questions about this topic there for clarity. ☺ recently TV3 published a family converted Nissan.c20 into a tiny campervan too.

With all the modification to the vehicles, are we able to renew our road tax and insurance?
Yes you renew road tax as normal. If you want to sell your vehicle, you need to restore it to it's original with seats etc for Puspakom inspection therefore be sure you keep your seats.

We only have regular 3rd Party insurance.
If you buy a new van and modify it I suggest you do it through proper planning. You can locate good advice through the Group PCM or My Campervan Malaysia in FB. There are several members in there who have made conversions using new Vans such as Sprinters and Maxus. Check with them -
1. pilih van
2. confirm design
3. buat floor plan
4. ukur
5. cari jurutera otomotif bertauliah dgn jpj untuk pengiktirafan plan
6. submit
7. timbang dan inspection dgn puspakom bila van siap.
8. dapatkan kelulusan dan masuk dalam geran.
9. klu nak senang cari juritera yang fasih berurus untuk conversion ini.

alex wong 基本上以我過去半年的經歷來說～我只和警察在油站聊天聊得很開心啦～它們也完全沒提到關於法律的問題～至於jpj一般公路檢查也沒攔截～其實如果是有窗口的貨車～只要改造的室內不要超過窗口那就ok沒大概～至於太遠能～其實基本連結很簡單～也不礙到jpj 條規～所以自己處理完全是ok 的～就算沒有電子專業背景～這些如果拿去外邊弄～在馬來人工費都很高～那就沒意義了

My solutiion will be different from yours. It is good to learn from experience and if you don't try, you never know. So if you think you have the passion to try something like this, keep following our channel and also watch some old videos from Season 1 and 2. ✌☺ stay positive. Life too short to be negative and doubtful. 💕 We should respect and encourage the individuals brave enough to try this so Malaysia can.grow towards supporting more outdoor activities. 💪💪 join the community.
