- That's the thing guys with older bikes, you check everything in the morning but still stuff can break during the day but in this case a very easy fix and i'm sure glad she started at all after standing out in minus degrees for 2 nights. Anyways, we crossed the border to france and what can i say, riding into the french sunset did not disappoint, great roads, awesome scenery in the national park...it was just golden! maybe blame it on the full moon but i felt so great and went to bed with a big smile. Lets hope the rest of the journey is going to be like that...thanks for watching my friends!

Hi Marc, the engine problem could be the fuel, you should aboid the ethanol as much as you can, your honda engine was not designed for that so if the fuel has to much alcohol the valves and cams will produce that noise which is an indication that they are wearing

I am so impressed that this Honda Dominator 650 ,that is 30 years old, performs so great. It just shows that HONDA is one of the most durable and high quality bikes out there. If you give her some love she will be on the road for a long time to come.

This Dominator was built in Japan, right? Later HONDA built a lot motocycles in other places. Very often not the quality like this anymore.

I am impressed with the lack of garbage on the side of the roads, here in the States I think people could learn a lot by picking up there trash instead of throwing it out the window. It makes me sad every time I see it when I ride , I live in West Virginia and it is awesome but it seems this problem is growing.

Signal switches get grimy too after lots of dirt roads. These little on the spot fixes or problems make the adventure unique😄 It sort of prepares you for future longer adventures✌

Same thing happened to my Varadero. Easy fix with a little bit of sand paper. Have a safe trip! Here in Portugal now 95 is more than 2€ per liter 😒

Nice fix on the brake light switch :) Here in Westcoast Canada, the fuel for the lowest octane briefly went up to about 1.55 euro/litre, so your gasoline is very spendy, but the hotel prices are waaaaaay higher here! And all your hotels, even the bad ones were way nicer too, for the most part. The lowest quality little room here usually *starts* around 73.00 euros and only goes up from there! Enjoying your journey!

I will never be able to do a tour of Europe......by whatever means ! Our exchange rate is too low as we have to pay about TT$8 for Euro 1 ! So that Hotel room would cost me TT$352 !!
In our island 98 Ron gasoline is TT$4.50/L which is slightly over Euro 1. But we know that in the near future there will be an increase with Putin's War.
The Honda has a lot of life yet Marc. Once parts are available it is a forever bike !

Cross shaped screws on motorcycles of that vintage (and maybe today) are not the Philips or Pozidrive standards. They're JIS (Japan Industrial Standards). Using any other type of cross shaped screwdrivers almost always "screw up" the screw head (just couldn't help the play on this topic)😉

Back in the old days, we only had rear brake light switch. A switch attached to the front brake lever is a bizarre concept to me. Gas is $1.60 cad/ltr in NewBrunswick Canada right now.

Glad the rattling engine is holding up. You sorted the brake light problem smartly. I think I have stayed in Visieuz. At least been through it a few times. In the 90s there was cheap accommodation everywhere in France: Les Relais. I used to have a route through the country which took in a couple of them. Great places.

Old brake microswitches are simple to repair, because they can be opened to clean the contacts. New microswitches are smaller and sealed, so, they need to be changed with a new one 🤷🏼♂️

Wärest du nach dieser verlassenen Tankstelle eine Abfahrt weiter gefahren, Ausfahrt Sigean, hättest du ein kleines Einkaufszentrum unmittelbar vorgefunden, mit Baumarkt, Tanke, Futterstelle und Supermarkt....., aber egal, hast ja auch so den Mini-Schalter wieder richten können. Ja, eine tolle Gegend, hast du gut wiedergegeben, nur viel zu wenig Bilder... Schade.

You crossed my hometown Béziers. gas was actually more expensive one or two weeks ago, up to 2.2€ for 98. F1 are really shitty hotels, try premiere classe, it's low budget too but you have showers and toilet in your room, not outside. cheers mate, travel safe ✌🏻

@@MarcTravels we'll be in Scandinavia but during July and August, if we're around at the same period it would be nice to meet you (we start our trip in may, starting with GB including TT at isle of man) then heading to nordkapp so yeah, around July/august.
