Amazing clip, thanks for sharing. I own a '96 Domi and have brought her back to a really good condition after her previous owner neglected her for a couple of years as a result of a failed project. Recently received a new YSS rear shock and some fabulous original white engine guards (found in an old Honda storage depot in the Czech Republic!!). I now use her as a daily rider and will be off-roading soon with legendary French stuntman Jean-Pierre Goy! Go Domi!
Well done my friend! I own a Dominator since 1996! 24 years now ! I bought it when I was 20 and my trip was from the island of Lemnos (Greece) to Bologna/ Firenze at the age of 20 ! I remember that even the girls were impressed from the sound of the NX650 ! And it still makes memories !
in reply to person with stalling problem==you must turn crankshaft counterclockwise to timing mark for intake valve adj or gap will be greater--mine would stall band explode into intake manifold at times

Well done mate. Really nice job. Powder coating isn’t everything so I wouldn’t worry, had a company do a rubbish job on a bike or mine and wish I had got it sprayed! Hope to buy a dominator soon!
Very nice restoration. I have a 1989 Dominator and seems to have the same problem as you that it stalls when idling, I've changed the camshaft and auto decompression system but the problem still there. Did you manage to sort yours out and if you did what did you do?
I still did not find the cause, I tried changing CDI, clean the carb, rejet it, clean the choke cable and test it for binding to no avail. It's a work in progress... Good luck! =)
I used motor sealant (saratoga special motor sealant), seems to hold up fine if you don't stress the joint too much. I tried couple other kinds of glue but I had no luck, that plastic they used for the airbox does not like glue.
I'm trying to fix up a old NX650 ND08. I need some reference pictures. Is it possible that you could send me some? For what i need, i can't find anywhere.

Grazie! Il problema era il cavo del choke che era vecchio e non ritornava in posizione normale. Cambiandolo il problema è sparito

Resoldering the ecu didnt solve the idle stall?
no, in my case the problem was the old choke cable didn't let the choke close all the way, I had to replace it
I cant read very well, what have you do for the stall at the idle?
I had no solution at the time of the video, but i later found out that replacing the choke cable eliminated any problem
