Over the last few years, I've received a lot of questions about how much liquid culture is needed to inoculate grain. In this video, I dive in to the factors at play and share my ideal ratio of liquid mycelium culture to grain in order to have the greatest chance of successful spawn generation.
I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage. Got diagnosed with ADHD. Spent my whole life fighting ADHD. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.
No doubts shrooms are 100% blessings from nature. Indeed nature's little miracles.
YES very sure of Dr.alishrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Ive done shrooms last month. It taught me how severely traumatized I was from alcohol. I healed from many mental traumas from my past and was able to forgive, let go. Shrooms to me is a natrual healer. I even felt more refreshed the morning after. So no hangovers. No depression mood for days. No anxiety. I now have a more calm mind.
How do I reach out to him? Is he on insta
Yes he's Dr.alishrooms.Shrooms to me is a natrual healer. I know a guy who has used mushrooms in the same way and they have really helped him. mah dudes have safe trips all.

There's no such thing as a stupid question. There are, however, stupid people and stupid people don't usually ask questions.
But not all questions have a simple answer, yet you took this seemingly complicated process and simplified it for us. Thank you
I do about 2 cc per pound of hydrated grain of wheat berry or brown rice or popcorn. So your recommendation seems to be on the high side. Usually fully colonized with one shake in 10 days to two weeks depending on the mushrooms. I usually stick to 2 different varieties of oyster and one of lions mane. Lions mane is definitely slower and may take up to 18 days. My conditions are at about 80° Fahrenheit. But I agree that it is a race with the mycelium usually winning
Yeah I thought on high side too. So north spore 3lb bags about 6cc ?
@@ixxgxx I make grain spawn most of the time in 1 qt mason jars. With 2 cc I've liquid culture. I use about 1/2 pound fully colonized grain spawn to 5 pounds of fully sterilized substrate
@@ixxgxxI just bought from pnw , I have 2 grain bags going, just starting to grown , it’s been about 13 days for one and 7 for the other, DO I NEED TO BREAK UP THE GRAIN? ITS AND ALL IN ONE BAG? I THOUGHT I WAS SUPPOSED TO JUST LET IT Colonize then break it up and mix the dirt through it…. Dang I with I could sit down with someone, bad dyslexia here. Lol, seriously though my dyslexia can be brutal.
I put in 20ml of B+ liquid cultrue in one grain bag(about 2pounds of grain) ( LC is over 7months old and been store in a wardrobe) and get strong mycelium growth within 72 hours of inoculation. So do as much you want :) you can literally use half of a ML and still get great success!
Great video brother. Your channel is coming along great.
I always appreciate and enjoy your vids even if the info is not new to me. Thanks for taking the time to make and post.
You don't have to use very much of the LC solution, the key is to shake your jars every two days, or your bags whatever the case may be, your grain spawn should be colonized within two weeks, ready for the next step, growing out on substrate.
IMO this is a misnomer, 2 weeks for what varietal of mushroom? Since we may or may not be growing the same thing, and more LC usually means a slightly faster cultivation period, i always say depending on your variety- it will take between 2 and 5 weeks for mycelium colonization
Really informative. Keep up the good work. I am very interested in learning about creating from dehydrated material.
Thank you for your instruction and supplies!
Definitely will be using your stuff soon, thanks
30cc of LC is absolutely insane for 5lbs, my 5ccs do just fine 😂
I agree 😂😅 a 12cc syringe I’ve inoculated 2 5lbs bags
Seems like a rude way to state your findings.
Go make a channel then show us prove it instead of talking shit
Also this guy "doubles up" his LC so to speak, do you think that may have something to do with why he uses a lot? That's a sincere question not a put-down tho... Did you even consider that before saying it was insane or did you just see somebody doing something different than you do it and decided that's a good enough reason to try to insult him?
@@phillypharmerdepends on how fast you want it to spread
I mistakenly added 10cc of liquid culture to 500g (about 1 lb) of grain, and now it's like this snowy, large, white dimorphous shape. I had previously removed it from the substrate and grain, all in one grow bag and put it in a shoebox. Then I had to remove the lid of the shoebox tub because the white blob was up against it.
sounds like a bacterial infection
What if you bring your grain below field capacity then added extra lc to adjust the hydration to proper field capacity
Thank you
Should the LC be at a certain temperature before inoculate in my bag?
I just thought of this, UA-camd it, and found this! Cheers man! I have Pink & Golden Oyster LC almost ready, so I just ordered a refill kit ;)
I feel like this is over kill you can do masters mix with 1cc with high chances of success. Even if it’s not fast, it’s prevents wet rot if you use that much.
I've put in about 5-7 cc into around a half full jam jar worth of millet.......so stressed I think my grain is too wet too. I'm on day 4.....do i shake the grains up every day? And my temperature checker/ hydration checked has a in and out setting the in setting says its hotter then in is....who do i do to check the temperature...lol? The in or out...thanks guys. So glad i found this channel....x
how did it end up working out? was the grain too saturated or did it end up working out well? would love to know what happened
@OneEarth Mushrooms, informative video thanks. So given that a 10ml syringe would just about do a 5lb bag of substrate, could you not create say 500ml of homemade mycelium liquid culture from that one syringe of culture? Similar to that which a baker always has a culture of yeast in storage.
for a 3,5lb(1.6kg) it comes out to 20cc. 10cc of oyster liquid culture usually takes 21 days or so to colonize IME and 20cc around 1/2 that time. 5lb bag would take a LONG time with 10cc and based on his ratio the sweet spot would be about 25-30cc for a 5lb 2.2kg bag
I use 1cc per lb does the trick just got into agar though so hope it works out
My go to guy
What’s the best temperature to store inoculated grain jars at? I’m thinking 75 does that sound right?
75-80 is best depending on the species.
I bought a 5lb bag and put about 6ml in the bag is that too much?
2-3ml/cc per 200g rye grain? that is terrible…
so a 1000g jar or a simple mason jar needs over 10cc of spores to inoculate that is overkill brother.
1000g needs barely 1ml of spores, as 2-3cc per jar (what ive done) tends to colonize the jars within 3-4 weeks tops.
I don't use liquid culture, I got tired of it throwing off my perfect hydration. I use mycelium on petri dishes, I can use a whole dish per bag. You can't use too much, it won't affect your hydration at all, it's always perfect.
Can I pour the LC over the grains before sealing the bag, avoiding having to make an injection port?
Hello bro how are you doing, plz I need your advice. My sterilizing jar broke while I was sterilizing my LC.
If you get a liquid culture from a reputable seller can you use the same method to make more liquid culture?
That's a good question I'm assuming in way easier than spores. I just LC 'd with 10 drops but I'm confident it will work. I'm not in any hurry
Yes
Yep, Whack a few drops on a plate first to do a smear test and make sure the culture syringe didn't accidentally bring anything with it. You won't have to wait long to see if it did the bad stuff will show up quickly. If all is well make yourself some LC jars and expand away. Save yourself a fortune.
Hi, just started learning to grow mushies. I really need help. I don’t understand why they have to be in a sterile environment and sterilize air? Love your stuffies
Basically there is stuff In the air and environment that can and will try to grow in your medium. Sterilizing decreases the risk of things you don't want growing to grow
There ate spores from mold and bacteria in the air from movement, breathing, and other mold sources. That’s why some people buy respirators and goggles and Lysol everything in a 5 ft radius. When you innoculate anything you have to realize it’s the same perfect environment for molds and bacteria’s to grow so your trying to give the mushrooms a head start by creating a sterile environment with only them having a success rate!
Would you shake if adding spores?
Yeah, disperse your inoculate for more rapid colonization. You can repeat this process after the mycelium has spread through some of the bag. Again, dispersing for a faster track to full colonization.
If starting from spores, it's best to start them on agar, then isolate a vigorous strain of dikaryotic mycelium and use that to spawn your grain.
@@michaelgillespie1206 I understand but I’m leaving town for a week and will attempt that next!Thank you
Don’t use spores unless your using agar yr begging for contam
I do 10ml LC for 1 gallon jars
I watch all your vedio and try to understand but I can't I need Arabic translatin all times I failed and failed and failed to grow mushroom thanks
If you can't grow them, why just buy some to save you the stress order for them it will be delivered to you.
Does anyone know where I can Buy Spores please... This is for medicinal use for me.. can anyone help me please??
I heard about a place called legends mycology thats got some lc syringes (they're called isolated syringes) great prices and pretty fast shipping. It's a way easier and faster start w a lc as opposed to spores.
@@jhood8367 LC isn't really that much faster. I can get a fully colonized jar in just under 3 weeks with a spore syringe. Compared to like 2 weeks with LC. I find LC has higher chance of contamination and also has a higher possibility to make your spawn too wet.... things that a new person would struggle with.
I thought it was 448grams in a pound not 454. Math time, 28grams(in an ounce) x 16 ounces = 448g. if anyone can explain why he said 454 that'd be rad to unless it was a genuine mistake
There is actually 28.35 grams in an oz. we been getting ripped off all these years!

I feel like that's tooooo much lc.
Bro side note: You look like Jason Statham!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi, another freeloader here, i have never made this but i think the volume of liquid culture should be taylored by the growth speed rate of different mushrooms and the time we want to wait. thanks a lot for this exploitative patron content when should be a team group of broadcasting instead youtube jesus
448 grams per pound. BASIC AZZ MATH.
453.59 grams in a pound.
close but not quite a lb.....
these people in your comments need to show us there math to get there numbers lol show your work
And no one asked why don’t you have a mic? Just saying.
I wonder if you can get away with a higher inoculation rate on grain prepared by the no soak/ no boil method. This is the method I use, and I wonder if the grain has the capacity to absorb a little bit more.
This is what I was wondering as well since he doesn’t soak his rye before boiling and pressure cooking. He might be forcing the grain to absorb the lc by starving them of liquid if so that’s kinda genius imo.
