Loved the acoustic version but the album version is still great! They really outdid themselves with this album. Also, thank you for being a super dedicated fan and providing Mother Mother content :p
I have added the visualiser of this song to my playlist of maladaptive daydreaming in art and entertainment. I don't know if it is really about maladaptive daydreaming or just the healthy non-addicted version of the ability to get immersed in vivid fantasy, probably common in writers. I imagine and hope it is the latter, because Ryan seems too busy and successful to be wasting hours everyday fantasising like I do! I want to do it in moderation too, and the playlist is meant to help myself and others get some catharsis but also inspire ourselves to cut down the hours spent in immersive daydreaming or half in and half out of activities we care about. There are so few artistic representations of maladaptive daydreaming in media because it is somewhat uncommon amd extremely secretive. I am very grateful that my favourite band has one of the few depictions (of at least immersive fantasy, whether maladaptive or not) that I have found so far. If anyone else here is a maladaptive daydreamer, your real life and real self matter, and deserve to be fully engaged with. If the need to protect yourself from inescapable traumas has long past, thank yourself for protecting your body and mind from the damage of extreme stress by separating them. But now there is no need for such drastic self-protection, body and mind will thrive if you integrate them again. ❤
I love this so catchy.
