I swear I look "fresher" with just a gentle cleanser and lots of moisturizers. And a swipe of mascara. :)

Long time listener, first time caller. Moved to comment because of your incredible hair. I passed a Glossier brick and mortar this weekend and sniffed their two new fragrances. The plummy one was definitely very sweet and read as cloying to my nose, but the other was a very diffuse, gentle, milky sort of spice (like, a pot of horchata wafting through a wood-panelled house) It was very tempting and arguably yummier than the plum one. I’m nearly through my bottle of OG You which only smelled like pink pepper on me-sharp and biting and none of the skin-like warmth-so I think once it’s empty I’ll spring for the new fragrance instead.

Just please no more steely greys and blue-toned red lips!
For fall I’m leaning into browns and sparkly things, maybe even doing some matte bright shadows with a fun cat eye winged liner for some 60s vibes. In the winter I see myself going full sparkle princess.
I love a monochromatic look. Every day I just want one color all over my face, eyes, lips and cheeks (and then just top with some sheer shiny stuff on cheeks and lids for evening). It's minimalistic and striking at the same time in a way. I love the look of it aswell as the idea of it being effortless and chic. I am forever on the hunt for the perfect product for this: a cream, the perfect color of brown, a formulation that works all over the face and isnt to slidey, to sticky, to shiny, to sparkly, to stiff, to silicony etc. And I found it in the form of a Linda Hallberg lipstick called sepia but they changed the color so now it's more rosy, pretty but not the same neutral brown😢

Re the glossier scents: felt the same as your take. Got samples of both. Love both. The gourmand one, Reve, is only the slightest sweet at first and not sickly at at all and dries down to a shower fresh scent that impressed me. Doux, the smokier at first scent, I expected to love more but loved equally in a different way. I bought a bottle of each, which I did not expect. Recommend getting samples of both because they are lovely

As someone in the southern hemisphere, I'm all for the bright jewel tones for holidays. The only thing that really called to me is the Gucci Holiday. I was able to try the red Gucci blush and it knocked my socks off. It really is buildable from sheer to full color. I ended up buying it. So I’m done. Fragrance is something I have to try. 😊

Last year I leaned heavily into dark, muted colors in fashion. This year, in both makeup and clothes, I want lighter, but still muted colors. I just bought the Fenty whatabrat blush. It's a soft pink with silver reflect. I would like to have a similarly colored lipstick. I bought a periwinkle cardigan and creamsicle tshirt to wear together, and an ivory sweater.
As a seasonal decorator, I'm not surprised to see lighter, more pastel, colors in holiday makeup. It's been taking over home decor the last while. So it was bound to happen in beauty.

I purchased Nomad's Ghost Town eye palette, and I'm inspired to wear grungy smoky eyes this holiday. That palette has the best mucky grungy color story.
Glossier Doux is my favorite. It smells very cozy and lasted a good while on me.

I'm gonna wear cherry-fuchsia lips with light peachy eye-crease/cheeks and faintly frosty lids with a hint of dark violet eye liner. Holiday=Done. Invited=Nowhere.

Last year I leaned heavily into dark, muted colors in fashion. This year, in both makeup and clothes, I want lighter, but still muted colors. I just bought the Fenty whatabrat blush. It's a soft pink with silver reflect. I would like to have a similarly colored lipstick. I bought a periwinkle cardigan and creamsicle tshirt to wear together, and an ivory sweater.
As a seasonal decorator, I'm not surprised to see lighter, more pastel, colors in holiday makeup. It's been taking over home decor the last while. So it was bound to happen in beauty.

speaking of Holiday - just saying that I just fell for the Merit holiday 'dress code' lipsticks and they were a perfect bday purchase - they are gorgeous and perfect! Also the summer fridays brown sugar is a mauve brown, not orange (thank goodness).
