The One Role Martin Sheen Regrets

Hey everybody, here's a surprising answer from Martin Sheen. Full interview coming soon!
I would love to see an interview about The California Kid movie he did
Oh god the illusive man is just his natural voice amazing!
amazing voice!
@@BradCarr_ agreed
He seems a lot nicer though.
@@ThePoliticrat illusive man is his renegade alter ego.
@@ThePoliticrat the illusive man was never rlly evil he is just moraly bankrupt HE definetly only wants to do good but he goes over corpses to do so in real live i would stay clearly away from him but ingame i just love him so much
Love Martin Sheen. Great actor and a great person ethical and compassionate.
An American icon...Love Mr. Sheen! One of my all time favorites :)
@Michael Dean, yes, he's the man
@@BradCarr_ No doubt, Brendan
I'm a huge fan of Martin Sheen. He's right at the top of my list of celebrities I'd love to meet. Seems like a very nice man and he also doesn't seem to have an ego.
And that voice of his is silky smooth 👌
he is incredibly kind and generous
@@BradCarr_ I'm really happy to hear that actually, because he's always hit me as a really decent guy. I'm sure he's the kind of guy you could sit down and talk with all day and still want to keep chatting
That part he played in The California Kid
Smooth....
I really like Martin Sheen's acting skills. He seems like a very nice man as well. I know nothing about this character he wanted to play, but I am impressed that he's so amazed by someone who said he just wanted to be up in the sky. I just don't understand what the impressiveness of it is. Of course, everyone is interested in different thighs. I personally think a person who does not care about anything else in the world, but to fly, would not be someone I'd necessarily put up on a pedestal. I'm not saying he was a bad person, I'm just saying there are so many people that care about actual problems on Earth and try to make the World a better place. He describes this man as his hero.
It's so nice to be able to watch an interview where the interviewer shows genuine interest and the appearance that they want to be there. It must've relaxed the interview, because there were some incredible answers and responses from the always kind and generous Mr. Sheen. Thank you very much for sharing this. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
martin sheen is a real one
Martin has one of the most relaxing voices, great actor and seems like a cool guy even if I don't share the same political views.
agreed!
Apocalypse Now is for me personally the greatest film I’ve ever seen…Big fan of Sheen ❤👏🇬🇧
He's the illusive man
One of the greatest video game voice acting performances ever, if not the best.
@@ThePoliticrat probably my favorite. The illusive man is written to perfection and played even better.
Just an all around fabulous man & human being.
thanks for sharing! did you watch the full-length interview?
The title of this video is some heavy click bait
Terrific actor, delivered dialogue so naturally. I think it was Lee Majors who played Francis Gary Powers in that ‘70s movie.
I'm from Dublin, Ireland and in '94 his cousin a Fr. Cleary married my wife and I. He looked exactly like Martin Sheen in this interview
ha! what a funny coincidence
Always liked Martin Sheen. Great Actor. I don’t think we share the same Political Beliefs, but I’ve always admired him as an actor. Incredibly Versatile. Seems like a good guy & always admired how much he did for Charlie. I put my Dad through a lot when we I was young. He always stood by me. Mr. Sheen even looks like my Dad. Just giving him a & Dad a Shout Out.
@David Leidy, thanks for sharing! He has such a fatherly presence too
I was so worried he would bend to the history erasing craze and say he regrets playing Robert E Lee. That could have tarnished an absolutely incredible movie forever
thank goodness there's appreciation for art, context, and history
@@BradCarr_ And since this interview is happening in front of a sign about leadership, see this key scene in _Gettysburg_ where Sheen shows Lee's leadership -- holding men accountable for their failures but taking care not to humiliate them in front of others or destroy their morale, keeping his fierce temper in check, giving them his trust and respect, and ultimately earning their total devotion ua-cam.com/video/6dkkC7YzgXc/v-deo.html
I was worried about that, too, B.
Discovered him decades ago in "The Incident "(1967) as thug together with Tony Musante and was deeply impressed.
Haven't seen a bad movie with Martin til now.
I’m a big fan of him. I got the opportunity to meet him next month and I look forward to it.
Beautiful.
totally
I was born on the day Gary Powers' U2 was shot down & didn't know anything about him until now.
Brad, I've been in this business 40 years and you are the top gun of interviews. Always drawing out the subject and never getting in your own way or in the way of the subject. Support and silence, sir.
Hi! Thank you very much! It's a pleasure to and I appreciate your encouraging words :)
wow ..very nice
looking forward to the whole interview
Rania Tahoun, thanks for sharing! It was so much fun to learn from Martin
Respect his acting 👏
For sure. do you have a favorite?
💍 Congratulations Dad
James dean role would have been cool for Martin Sheen loved the role as the California kid in the 1970s go watch the California kid great road movie indeed his screen name was Micheal d mcord
I was 15 years old,my Dad was a car guy.I loved that movie! A chopped 34 Ford coupe-nothing is better! Vic Morrow, also great in that flick!
Illusive man: Shepard…(puffs cigarette)
I never knew his wife was from Kentucky and also Gary Powers. I am of course from Kentucky as well. Interesting. Gary Powers was a true hero.
My man still liking comments from a 2 year old video. Also his role in west wing is why mass effect 2 is one of my favorite games lol
thanks for sharing! i didn't play mass effect, did it feature Martin as president?
But you played THE CALIFORNIA KID! And that’s enough for me!
In 1988 Martin was in a movie made in my hometown Dalkey a scene was shot outside my home the movie was called Da written by a man that my mother knew as a child Hugh Leonard (Jack) know to his close friends
You know that’s not his real name don’t you?
Great Interview.
What a twisted click-bait caption.
I remember a movie from the '70s in which Lee Majors played Francis Gary Powers.
Who is he talking about. ? I didnt catch the name.
Very Good!..
Thanks!
Gary Powers always thought that Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible for providing the Ruskis with altitude information which enabled them to shoot down his U2. There was a Cold War intelligence operation afoot here. The C.I.A. and the O.N.I (Office of Naval Intelligence) did not want any rapprochement with the Soviet Union whereas Ike did. By the time JFK assumed office the American Military and the intelligence services were advocating for a surprise first nuclear strike. JFK is quoted as calling the Joint Chiefs "lunatics".
LHO had been placed in country as part of the "false defector" program run by the two intelligence services in the mid to late Fifties. Many other Marines participated as well so the op is easily verifiable. Contrary to history books, LHO was a loyal Marine until the day he was gunned down surrounded by Dallas "cops" and there is no indication in all of the research that the U.S. Navy took any part in the assassination of JFK. LHO was following orders when divulging Top Secret info. There was a summit talk scheduled between Ike and Khrushchev which was canceled over the Powers Incident. Mission accomplished by LHO and his handlers.
Oswald was erratic and unreliable and would never have been trusted by any intelligence agency on either side to do anything important. He was a fanatical Marxist who hated the USA and shot JFK out of that malice, plus seeking fame. The Dallas Police did not knowingly allow Oswald to be shot; obviously they would not have wanted to compound the embarrassment of JFK's death in their city with his shooter dying in their custody. Have some modicum of common sense.
@@IrishCarney Warning! "Lone Nutter here." He sucks up all Government lies and believes them true. He sounds like the thoroughly discredited WCR.
@@MarkRoberts-bj2me It's not discredited at all. And you have no refutation of anything I said, just name calling. There's no credible motivation for any conspiracy, no credible way it could have operated, and no credible way it could fit the facts we know. For instance, Oswald did it (his gun, his bullets, his fingerprints on the gun, he ran from the scene and shot an officer who tried to stop him). And an actual conspiracy would either have picked him up right at the Depository to kill him or (less likely) whisk him to safety instead of risking him being apprehended and questioned for who knows how long.
@@IrishCarney It's better to never communicate with a "Lone Nutter" since the lack of education makes any repartee useless and a waste of time. Read man, but skip Posner and Bugliosi and the horrendous Tom Hanks film "Parkland". Watch "JFK" and read the book it was mostly based on "On The Trail of the Assassins" by former New Orleans D.A. Jim Garrison. Watch Oliver Stone's upcoming TV series documentary "JFK: Destiny Betrayed" and you will learn.
@@MarkRoberts-bj2me I saw JFK. Then read Posner and Bugliosi. The latter make much much more sense.
Pretty sure the film he’s talking about wound up starring Lee Majors as Powers
Sheen did a lot of TV roles back in the 70’s but oddly, never did a series until West Wing
He was fabulous in Grace and Frankie as well.
I don't think he should have done it anyway as he suggests here, integrity is key for any actor but especially a high-profile actor like him. If a part, in this case a reallife person, and his story mean so much to you that you would rather refuse to do the film in the first place than being part of a bad (at least mediocre) biopic that doesn't do him justice, you would regret having done it at some point in the future! 🤷🏻♀️ He probably only regretted it because his idol died not long afterwards
vicky 12, thanks for sharing your interesting take
I guess he forgot about how bad he was in "Spawn." 😂
That was an oddly moving story
yes, Martin is a powerful storyteller
Being a father!
Not one dislikes
good catch! he's such a special guy

@@BradCarr_ The Illusive Man is the main antagonist from the Mass Effect games saga, whose looks and voice were provided by Martin Sheen. And he NAILED it.
Only role ive seen him in is little girl down the lane..... What a creep
Watch Badlands(1973).
He’s truly an incredible actor and a great guy. He’s been in plenty of great movies and tv shows.

Apocalypse now is amazing watch it. And then play mass effect for him as his evil alter ego.

Would be a good Idea to have the name on the HERO he is speak about (Francis Gary Powers) in the Descriptions @BradCarr
