wakazaemon is japanese bass royalty, member of East of Eden, Marty Friedman Band and more. and she is one of the rare bass lefties.

Kotono, yes she used to be in Iron Bunny, but she was one of the chosen 7 dancers for Babymetal, after Yui went ill.
Kanade has been playing the drums since she was 3, and at 14 she had won numerous awards, and was looked as in the top 10 female drummers in the world. Now she is 21, I 1st saw her play in London when she was 16 at Metal Marsuri.
Wakazaemon, is the bassist from East of Eden.

In Japanese, “Ai”, means to love, or loving of. So in the band’s name the, “Ai”, part has to do with loving.

I loved your expression with the first lyrical break, lol. Put this song under a genre of eclectic.

Lisa is an astonishing guitar player but then she's been doing it almost since she was born!
I think the four current members work really great together. I'm not the biggest fan of proggy stuff, but KOIAI's music has just enough pop mixed in to lighten it up, so it's not just a self-indulgent wankfest.
Wakazaemon is a phenomenal player, but I kind of wish they'd take on a full time bassist. I doubt Wakazaemon would have the time otherwise she'd be perfect.
Don't sweat the pronunciation. Unless you've learned the sounds of the Japanese syllabaries, and have a grasp of how Romaji transliteration works, how can you have any idea how to pronounce unfamiliar names? Fans will always share the (almost) correct pronunciations in comments.
Maybe every band should do what Nemophila and Hanabie have done, and put out plenty of videos where they say their names.
Lisa-X was born with a guitar in her hand... Besides, it was certainly hard for her mother the day she was born, Lisa didn't want to let go of her guitar during childbirth...
This all star line up is amazing. Lisa wrote music and lyrics. Looks like we have another Kanami and Miyako in the making .So impressed .
I'm pretty sure it's Koi like Toy with a K, and the ai just like "I" in English. I really love this song.

It's from two words, "koi" and "ai", both mean "love" in English. Try reading it by separating the words "koi" and "ai". Thanks for reacting to this, Beth.

When Kotono is the weakest link in a band you know the band is special. Essentially a super band right here. Koi-eye is the pronunciation. 😁

"KOIAI"を漢字で書くと、おそらく「恋愛」。通常は「ren ai（れんあい）」と読むところを、あえて「koi ai（こいあい）」にしたのではないかなァと勝手に考えています。
”KOIAI”は、恋に関係するが、”濃い藍”色をイメージしたバンド名だそうです。 it refers to love but it also is a name for a deep indigo blue color.

There's no denying the virtuosity of all of the band members, but this seems to me to be a bit disjointed, like speed metal meets circus music, but somewhat incomplete and not fully fleshed out. For some fun, check out their cover of Dirty Loops cover of Hikaru Utada's "Automatic".
I love Utada Hikaru's Final Fantasy soundtrack though.

I think the use of differing styles is brilliant. The “circus music” as you call it is called cabaret style. Listen to Kaizers Orchestra, a Norwegian alternative rock band.

Jesus, it's not hard to speak Japanese words. Pronounce all vowels like Spanish. It's "Ko-ee Ah-ee"
Harder than you think. Li-sa-X pronounces it Koy-eye-ee.
