- At last the frost is gone. Lovely weather and nice temperatures has arrived in the woods - it's spring. Flowers are planted, old cobbles/rocks, that someone laid decades ago, are dug out, and plans are made. some of my oak steps are glued together, and is looking good, and an old, bent and rusty sawblade are hammered on, driven over, and made a bit prettier, so it can hang on my gable wall above the stairs.

Beautiful addition of local history added to your home.
Hi Joshua. It is beautiful, historic and such a fine piece to hang on that gable wall.

Another great episode, thank you Michael!

I think that was a good place for those buried rocks, right where you found them. 😂😂
Beautiful old saw blades.
Hi Quarlow. It was a good place, but unfortunately they are not flat anymore. Frost has made them move up and down, so I need to do a lot of digging, and get them all up, and start over. I love, that I found the old saw blade, and it will find a new home on that gable wall.

Hello Michael. I hope you're well. Good idea with the saw blade. That was quality. I love your humor and your attitude to life. When we move away from here we'll look for somewhere where we can be away from society. We watch all of your videos. We also watch Shawn James' channel... My Self Reliance. Take care and see you in the next video. Greetings Andi
Hi Andi. I have around 10 km. to the nearest, small city for a supermarket and a lumberyard/buildersmarket. For clothing, shoes/boots and so I have to drive around 60km. to Växjö - a big city.
I find life amusing and are always happy. It's so different living outside society, and so calm and relaxed. The most important when you find your place, is that you don't bring all the big bills from city living with you, and are reliant on a job to make ends meet. Minimizing, self reliance, cheap ways to get water and a gray water system, electricity - it makes life so much easier, heat during winter and so on. I also watch Shawn's channel, and "the boss of the swamp". He has the same attitude as me. Never give up, everything is possible, you can do it, and he's a true off-gridder.
All the best
Michael.
Thank You for the video! Always interesting and nice atmosphere. And some new ideas. Thank You Michael!

Howdy Michael- that saw blade will look great hanging up. I was at the sawmill where I get logs for cabins and visited with an outdoor fellow who works there. He is one of last people l know who can “ hammer “ a saw blade so it cuts true. It’s just about a lost art because there are so many band sawmills now. You may be living in the woods but you are eating like a king lol. Hope you have a great weekend. God bless
Hi Paul. I was so excited when I found it, but when I got it out of all the rubbel my heart sunk a bit. It was badly bent and buckled, but I think it turned out somewhat okay. Those old knowledge-based jobs are disappearing, and I find it sad. It's the same with your trade, hand building cabins. You've gotta try that burger variation It's so tasty.
Have a great weekend and hug the queen from me.

Was going to say something similar about the hammering of the blade. I imagine that blade may well have cut some of the lumber in Michael’s house proper. I grew up on a mill stream that had near ten mills in a couple miles of stream. I see lumber cut from those now gone mills everywhere in my old town houses and barns.
…. Old for the US , 1793 lol.
@@terryatpi you may be on to something there. It was a sad sight when I found out it was gone up in flames. When I found the blade, I had to save it.

Beautiful patina on that blade. It’s art! You sure find many diversions while waiting for stair tread glue to dry!
Is it generally the case that things are less expensive in Denmark compared to Sweden?
Hi Grace. You're right- it's a piece of art. Prizes vary a lot between the to countries depending on what you are after, but especially flowers are a lot cheaper in Denmark.

I just restacked my firewood leftover from the winter. 2 rows 6 foot high and 11 foot long. Was a chore but had to be done. Yup an old stone path covered up by nature and time. I prefer Horseradish mustard. Grow my own Horseradish now. Old steel still strong. A big flat stone or Concrete pad with the sledge might have flattened it a nit more, maybe. ;)
Hi Joseph. Wauw, that was a lot of leftover from winter - nice. Great with the stones, but a lot of hard work lies ahead. The old saying, strong as steel, fits perfect in this case.
