Love your idea of cutting around that half log… Excellent work it looks great!! It’s awesome. You got your kitty cat hanging out with you… She’s beautiful!!😺
Hi Dew. Thanks. Some times you need to figure out how to solve a challenge, and I find it funny. Yup, Smilla aka. The Boss Lady are always around. She's so special and funny. All the best Michael
Howdy Michael- I wish there was a way to give you more than just one thumbs up. Great job getting the stairs worked out. They can be really tricky when they make a turn. A good carpenter will be able to fix a miscalculation and you did a marvelous job! Hope you don’t get anymore snow this spring. Have a wonderful weekend my friend. God bless you
Hi Paul. Thanks, that was just what I needed. I must admit that i did panic a bit, but it turned out great at the end. But what a bummer. Still a bit frost and snow yesterday, and up north they had minus 23 Celsius this morning, but fingers crossed for a change and spring warmth soon. All the best my friend. Michael
When I saw all those angles you had cut on those big boards, I tried to make sense of it. But it just looked like a big wooden shark to me. 😂 It amazes me the things you accomplish. That was a.big one! Take a bow!! 😊Wishing you the best. Sheryl
Excellent job on the staircase. I’ve pulled my hair out working on them in the past. Seams easy…. It’s not! The cabin took on a beautiful color. How did the kitty like the stairs ? Did she give the stamp of approval? Lookin great Michael, Terry
Hi Terry. Thanks. Yes, those stairs are problematic, as my hick-up proved, but up it went. Smilla gave it a paw up, so I take that as approved. All the best Michael
Your reaction to an error is admirable. Just wondering if you will use a vapour barrier against the insulation before the wall boards go on and nailing down your loft floor boards?
Hi Grace. No need to use a lot of energy on an error. You just gonna move forward, get it solved and corrected. No, I'm not going to use a vapour barrier because it's a complete build in wood, and it needs to breathe, but I'm putting up a wind barrier like I did on the outside - behind the gable boards. The floor has to dry a bit more, before I fasten it. It's going to be screws to hold it in place. All the best Michael
Hi Quarlow. You are absolutely right. It's quite a challenge. To get a comfortable set of stairs, with a good angel and pleasant step hight, and especially when the space for it, aren't big. I don't know how many calculations I did before I got it right, and still there was a slight slip up at the end. But now they are done, and I'm over the moon, and a bit proud. All the best Michael

That's a huge milestone. Stairs are not easy. I took me 2 days to calculate mine. Math is not my strong suit.
