- In this video, we will show how to remove the Rear Hatch Door Plastic Panels in the 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Toyota RAV4.
Removing these panels will be useful if you need to remove or replace the hatch door rear lamps, windshield wiper motor, or locking mechanism in your Toyota RAV4. You will also be able to access plugs holding the license plate screws in place in case they fall inside the hatch door.

Do you know why the 10mm bolts at 1:46 are so tight? I swear I turn them in the right direction (counterclockwise) but they wouldn't budge. Was it also hard for you to remove them?

My license plate screw wouldn't come out, thanks to this video I was confident enough to remove the rear hatch door plastic to reach and hold the license plate nut and remove the screw. Thanks!

Hi. I’m interested to know where the AM radio antenna is located. Some say in the fin on the roof (I don’t think so), others say it is part of the rear window heater. If the AM antenna is part of the rear window heater, how is the cable connected? My European specs 2023 RAV4 has no AM capable head unit. I need to know this because want to replace my head unit for an OEM Toyota head unit that is capable of receiving the AM band. As far as I know, the cable from the rear window glass antenna runs to the cable that connects the fin antenna on the roof and both cables have connectors for that. The fin antenna cable then connects to the main antenna wire harness that runs all the way to the front of the car inside the right hand side of the roof where the air bags are as well. I know there are many different versions of the XA50 RAV4. I have no access to the workshop manuals but I do have access to the USA one. But like I said, there are so many different versions that it is very hard to find out. If only Toyota would be more willing to help me out. All classified info it seems….uhgg Toyota! Hi great video, I need to unistall the rear camera, can I reach the camera from there?
Hi I am getting rattle sound from the left bottom side of the back door trim. When I put my hand and press it the rattle seems to go away. Any idea what is causing the soft rattle and how should I approach fixing it?
Same. 2021 Hybrid AWD
I suggest removing the trim, and applying a tiny amount of silicon sealant to the edges of the plastic, let it set, then reassemble. The silicon should act as a damper and stop the rattle. @@tuubikuusela7847
Hello, how did the patent light module come out after removing the plastic?
Thank you. I damaged my original panel due to a rolling lawn mower in my hatch. I had it replaced at a Toyota dealer for 750$. Ever since they put the new panel on I have had a loud terrible rattle when I go over a bump. They told me to put a cardboard roller up and put in the upper( number 1 panel) to stop the rattle. It didn’t work. Could one or 2 of those plugs that the panel snaps into have been broken when they replaced the panel? Advise please! Thank you!
Thanks! It is hard to tell without looking. It could be broken or missing clips. They could have forgotten smth inside the panel and now it rattles. Since the dealership was doing the work I would go back there and ask them to check.

It's hard to tell exactly what is going on. The best way is to remove the plastic and see what fell inside.

The purpose if the weight is to wear out the power lift gate strut and then charge you $800 bucks to replace it, or try to anyway.

I removed the weight. It weighs about 4-5 pounds. No noticeable difference
How has it been with out this weight? Any new noises or rattles vibrations?
