Are you still using the Cuesoul tips you featured in your last tip video? I've really come to love the ADR147 tips, can't recommend them enough. I use a Supersoft hardness as I play English pool predominantly, but there was absolutely no bedding in and it played superbly right away, if you're thinking about experimenting!

Hi I love your videos as much as everybody else, but I just wonder about something that nobody seems to talk about, or if they do I've completely missed it. I reckon I'm probably like most people who have recently decided to attempt to commit to becoming a better player. As a musician, I know how important it is to own the instrument you want to get good at, to have it at home. Might sound obvious but that's the only way to get any real improvement. I don't have the space for a full size snooker table in my flat, I can get a 6 foot by 3 foot table at best, only a quarter of the size of the real thing. I should be getting one anyway at the end of the month. I work 3 days a week and luckily there's a pool table I can play on for 2 hours each day. I'm also lucky to have a snooker club just across the road from my flat. The trouble is the cost is astronomical and is impossible to afford to practice a few hours a day. Including all the deals at my club, 2 hours a day cost £462.71 per month. 3 hours a day is £655.93 pm and 4 hours a day is £925.42 pm. Who can afford that? Hardly anyone I would imagine. Paying £655 or £925 per month just to practice something seems insane and it's completely unaffordable for me and I expect for most other people too. The only thing I can do atm is just get a 6 x 3 table, at least there's still loads of relevant development you could do with it and I don't have to pay any money just to practice. But of course, this really is nothing compared to practicing snooker on an actual proper snooker table. The idea of renting somewhere to practice also seems astronomical in price, and of course you've got to buy a table too which costs thousands. But if I had somewhere to put it, I'd save up and buy one. Being a musician, most instruments are affordable so it's possible to buy the thing you want to get good at and practice it as much as you like at home for free. Is everyone else in this same situation? it seems impossible to really be able to actually practice snooker on a daily basis. Absolutely impossible. What a shame, cos that means I'll never really get any good at it, no matter how many videos I watch. Is there a free way to practice?.. Is there a very VERY CHEAP way to practice? This must be a massive problem for hundreds of thousands of people. X
UA-cam are properly clamping down on reused content so it's not surprising that these compilation videos are getting more strikes. I'm not too sad about it as quite often they are adding very little original content. You do though! You add value to the clips by analysing the shots and re-creating them so I would hope you are ok. But yeah being able to suggest shots on twitter or something would be great. Keep up the great work.

It's boring and you won't like hearing it ...but you have to practice the fundamentals. Make sure you can hit the cue ball straight and in the centre every single time. Once you can do that, you'll be making 50s-80s easily
@@CertifiedSlamboy This has been debunked a lot, most recently by Holt- straight cueing, or whatever is not really that important, and finding "own" center as opposed to "true" center has been shown to improve player's game so much more. The best players always play with a tiny trace of side here and there! To make 30-breaks and beyond, you gotta focus on alignment more than anything. Believe it or not, but you don't miss most pots by 1mm, you're missing them by 10-20mm so orders of magnitude more than the pro's. Rule of thumb; if you're missing easy low-pace pots, it's probably alignment. I had refused to recognise this for a long time, and my game has improved considerably since. Sometimes you just have to visualise the animation involving a line on the baize, curving over the cushions to pick check/running-side correctly, etc. it's all about Focus

For me a cue has to have a maple shaft... what's your thoughts? Maple feels better I can't explain it but I've often wondered why everyone uses ash when in my my experience maple is king.
Stephen Hendry always uses a maple cue .I was told years ago they were less prone to warping .But they are lovely and smooth.Talking of cues I was amazed to learn that if you want a hand-made John Parris cue the waiting list is 8years!
@eskertoo yeah and it will cost you upwards of 4k. There is a cue maker in Warrington that I use called Tiger Cues.. high quality handmade to custom spec, and affordable prices.
Titanium ferrules are overrated mate. Yes, they cut down a bit on the throw when playing with larger amounts of side, but so what? You just get used to the throw from any given cue. John Higgins switched to a titanium ferrule not long ago and he didn't start playing any better. Jimmy White did the same, and he isn't wining any more than usual either. They like them, they had to spend time getting used to the difference first, and then got back to the same level of play rather than actually improving. There are also other players who have tried them and ended up switching back to brass because they just couldn't get used to them and didn't like the difference. If you can already play to a high level with a certain amount of throw that you're used to, there will be no difference in your level of play at the end of the day. If you're brand new to the game and not been getting used to a certain cue for years then sure it might be helpful to start with titanium, but otherwise, it's not better, it's just different. It affects the amount of side as well as throw and the feel on shots. Maple wood cues throw more than ash, and Hendry and Higgins seem to have done pretty well with maple all their careers...it's not as if switching to ash back in their day would have suddenly made the game any easier for them or made them play any better, it would just have meant they'd need to spend ages getting used to a new cue before getting back to the level they were already at.
Let’s also laugh at McGill with his graphite 9 ball cue set up with black glove he’ll be back with a wooden cue before long .Those composite cues have been tried for decades ,there nothing new and they all feel dead ..
