Brian, you teaching style is very effective. One of the many things I appreciate is your implied confidence that I will learn the composition, but more so how the blues work across the fretboard based on the CAGED system. I’ve learned so much and now it’s just plain fun to add to the CAGED scaffolding with my own personal style and material. Across the past year, your lessons have brought a lot of lasting joy to my life, joy I can access every time I pick up a guitar. Thank you.
Stumbled upon your lessons a couple days ago. Learned more in that time and pulled me out of that "rutt". From this 3 day binge, this one just vibes more than anything I've heard over the last couple years of learning to solo. Just dirty head bobbing blues with attitude. You've brought me more appreciation for each legends unique styles, and passed your knowledge on whilst doin it with with absolute respect, I look forward to signing up and leveling up to my childhood dream
Can't tell you how much I love these self accompaniment guitar solos Brian. I just got EP208 under my belt and was looking to learn EP211. I will be tackling this one next. I Got a arsenal of classic blues licks and turnarounds thanks to you Brian! 👍🇨🇦
By far my favorite teacher, with great attitude to boot, thank you! Hell we even have the same name! Used to watch a few years ago, but my guitar sucks, is very hard to play. and the electronics dont work, so I have not played for awhile, and forgot most of what i learned. Heard your videos again a few weeks ago, and the joy is back! Even with my 79 lotus strat style guitar, with a crack that doesnt stay in tune for crap. I can still practice, and when i get my new guitar it will be even easier to play. Thanks again man, much appreciated. Be safe
Muddy Waters is one of my main hero's and inspirations. I've been trying for years to work some of what he does into my playing. Thank you for this lesson.
great video, many thanks, great playing and tone too but I'm puzzled. At 2:44 the 'E7' you play.... ....I can't see how that is an E7, assuming you are playing across three top strings, that would be a B, D, G# but no root E played,or E at all for that matter so, can't be an inversion either. Makes that chord a Bm6 I think? At 3:08 I can see that's an E major E/B or E major second inversion. I'm a bass player (a poor one) I've only been trying to play to guitar for a few weeks so, do I have that wrong? Many thanks for your help stay safe and have a great christmas
These are my favorite lessons man. This is why I signed up for Active Melody. Awesome. I am having so much fun learning these solo type acoustic blues tunes. Yay!
Surprising but the simulated slide part at high E fret 12(never thought this before)has a nice kind of softer n fatter quality of its own.Reminds me of old 60s moves perhaps. These licks used to get used more often maybe, think solo in Gloria.i liked your opening solo for its feel and simplicity.Thank you.
Great lesson! One little thing I don't get though, at about 5:05 you counts 12 upstroke.( four triplets) then in the next bar you count 6 more ( 2 triplets) and then four more plus the triplet for the change to A chord. Wouldn't that make 13 counts instead of twelve? (6 +4+3). Can anyone explain please?
too advanced for me but love to watch listen keeps me motivated I aspire to play like that thanks for video amazing playing love the sound of that acoustic I've only got an epiphone pro00 but love it
These are the kind of songs I really like! I want more of these! Do you also play in open tunings like G or D? Would like to see some really slide guitar lessons.
He stays in standard mostly to be honest....but he transcribes things quite well into standatd tuning...as you see here...he didnt pay me to say this lol i just like this channel
Thanx a bunch love muddy and Robert Johnston I thought I heard him when u first played it love this vid it's cool knowing these chords already but putting them to good use by tying them together with little phrases and turnarounds keep up the good vids there brill!
