Thank you so much to everyone who waited patiently for this! **HUGE love to the notification squad~**
The playlist of side-adventures is here: ua-cam.com/play/PLPKBXMFV99z0XyusYZe-_ymrjgxOVj-2v.html
DID YOU HAVE A FAVORITE SPOT? Let me know below!!
The castle in the sky by drone was my favorite! I love the drone videos, it makes me feel like I am flying! Thank you for another amazing adventure! I can not wait for the day I get to experience Japan in person, until than I will live through your videos to keep me going!
Where is the campsite? 😍
The spot I enjoyed the most has to be Gero onsen! All the straw-top houses and koi fish in the river were amazing! Plus I had a chance to see everything during livestream which makes it more special to me :)
LOVE the music and edit on this. Engaging and fun to watch! Also happy you didn’t get mauled by a bear!
The Japanese countryside is just so gorgeous! All I kept thinking is "It's a real life version of a Ghibli movie". Well, yeah, duh. 😂 Loved the music you used for this.
*HUGE THANKS TO UA-cam FOR GLITCHING HARD AND FREEZING THE VIDEO PART WAY THROUGH!!*
I have reached out to support, and they assure me it should be fixed in a day or so~ Would mean the world to me if you came back and gave it a full watch tomorrow!!
Thank you all~
Just wondered what happened 😂 We will come back tomorrow to watch
Yeah. I was expecting a 26 min video bit was sad to see only 16 min as a frame was stuck for 9-10 mins :(
I was thinking that my internet died... them i saw that only the video has freeze. To be fair, i use YT for a lot of years and this is the first time this happen with me.
Thought the problem was at my end, great video so far! Can't wait to see the rest of it, kind of glitched on a cliff hanger with you just about to climb a bear infested mountain.
Haha, I thought it was my internet too! I will definitely come back and watch. The scenery and locations in this video are absolutely stunning and honestly some of the most beautiful places I've ever seen anywhere. I've vacationed to Japan twice, but didn't get out to anywhere quite like this. Amazing video!
Norm: Your adventures are creating a lot of new "Want to Go" pins in my Google-Maps list. I'll need several lifetimes to get through them all. Thanks for your great efforts, wonderful production skills and infectious enthusiasm. Great job mate, great job...
Hahaha and I get a: ''I must visit Japan, Gifu specially'' feeling now from these videos and streams he does.
@@nightchicken283 It's a must! I've been 3 times already and not even scratched the surface. Should just pack my bags and stay there :D
sameeeee while watchin these videos i add 9999999 pin needles in my google maps list 😭😂
Hi, how do you know the name of the spots he’s showing in this video? Thanks.
"this is an absolute disaster - look at this!"
:: shows neatly organized boxes of stuff ::
Besides all the amazing cinematography you get Norm, Your choice in music is astonishing. Every single video is accompanied by amazing music. It always feels so fantastical and beautiful and makes me fall in love with Japan even more.
I really appreciate that
This was such a special adventure to me that I put a bit of extra time into making sure that the music for it was just right
I’m really happy that it had a positive impact
I hope your day is
I was thinking the exact same thing! It truly feels like an adventure when Norm hits the road
Audio is as important as video
Yeaaa I am 100% agree with this. Every music is just completely match with the clip, the panorama, the situation and everything
You sire are so right, wanted to post a com. about it but here you are. Applause to both of you. :)
I love this series because it showcases a part of Japan that the average tourist will never have time to see (unless they are one of those people who goes there every year, and not once or twice). Japan is really beautiful! Thanks for ruining my vacation plans, COVID (but thanks to JAL for refunding my cancelled flight the day I cancelled it).
Really happy I could bring you to these spots~
😳😍🥰
Tania, I agree 100% amazing places to see.
"I'm gonna climb a tree, because I'm an adult" - Hey! Youth is wasted on the young... it's never too late to be a kidult :)
What never ceases to amaze me about Japan is the ability to be transported from the most cosmopolitan of cities, to landscapes that feel they have been taken straight from a fantasy novel, all in a matter of hours. Truly amazing.
Japan is such a beautiful country, even moreso away from the big "hot spots". I'm happy you are doing such amazing adventures!
And I’m really happy that you’re able to join along
Thank you so much for watching
I paused my binge to work on getting settled back in California to take care of my grandfather with Alzheimers again, but now I am back & watching with him. Your content, luckily, is something he can enjoy as well at this time. He doesn't remember plots to movies, but simple things like travel or nature are easy for him to enjoy, so thank you so much.
Notification squad , unite!
100%
Wasn't it, Aveng... Notification squad Assemble...... 😆
I'm 20 years old with no passport and binge watching Japan travel videos. I wanna experience this in my lifetime
High Speed Japan: Tokyo Drift 3 looks promising
I've been smiling the entire vid, the happiness, amazement, and wonder is so real. 💜 The week's adventures have pretty much set that this will be my next 3 week trip to Japan once the borders open back up. I'm in the middle of planning the map/route for an epic driving exploration through some of the most beautiful, breathtaking, must see landscapes I've ever beheld. Thank you so much for this adventure.
Honestly I can’t thank you enough for being such a huge part of making this possible
I’m really happy that you enjoyed it this much
Means the world!!
I love the natural onsen in winter while the snow is falling. Life doesn't get any better than a hot soak on a mountainside, river below, looking at the mountainside across from you.
I only discovered this channel a few days ago but as someone living in Tokyo that doesn't get to go out and see much of Japan, this channel is truly a treasure. Things I've dreamed of doing and places I've always wanted to see are shown here in an almost dream-like quality and beauty. The rooftops of Tokyo that I have never visited, the green mountains and fields with oceans of clouds I've only ever seen in anime have made me realize how much of Japan I've been missing out on. This has honestly been such a refreshing experience and I hope that someday in the future, I can go and do similar things.
You definitely showed us some very beautiful places in Japan during that week, I can't even comprehend how one country can be so beautiful. Thank you so much for having us along.
and thank YOU so much for making it possible~
That little hydration break at 8:24 made me laugh way too much, beautiful video as always Norm!
glad you enjoyed it!! Thank so much for being here
I can't honestly understand why could someone dislike a video like this one. It's so beautifully filmed and edited. Wonderful natural landscapes, he's such a nice guy. Keep up the great work, Tokyo Lens!
I didn’t think I could possibly want to get back to Japan more than I already did. But here we are 💖 This was such a wonderful experience, to get to come along for the livestreams and now see this… 😘👌🏻 absolutely fantastic and I genuinely cannot thank you enough. As always, the cinematography and music choices are perfection 😘👌🏻😘👌🏻. My need to return knows no bounds.
I’ve never wanted anything more in my life… and I’m 100% blaming you 😏
Thank you again, so so much 💖💖💖
Awww thank you Laura!!
Glad to have you here and even more glad that you enjoyed it that much!
Thank you so much for making this series possible!
Means the world~
@@TokyoLens I can never adequately describe how your videos make me feel. No words do them justice 💖
Breathtakingly magnificent, sparking the longing for adventure in all of us!
Plus… moss 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
And it was my absolute pleasure to come along for the ride! Always! 🙌🏻
Far too kind
But it feels like at the very least you enjoy watching them almost as much as I enjoy making them! Lol
@@TokyoLens just the right amount of kind. But I do enjoy them very much indeed. Gives me something to look forward to each week. 💖
@@lauraboanas7817 Laura, i am so sorry to jump into your comments, but I can't refrain myself to thank you to be able to express so well what my sentiments are rising up inside of me. What you just said is really touching my heart, I am currently in Japan since quite long time but soon I have to leave and my heart is aching badly just exactly as you do... matane!
Your joy at the castle in the sky moment (19:30 or so) filled me with unexpected joy. I am near tears at this. I love castles and someday hope to return to Japan.
I lived in Ono for three wonderful years and was so excited to see it featured in your video! 😊 Thanks for showcasing more of the “off the beaten path” locations, and as always, looking forward to more of your adventures!
currently witting here in the last step of finishing my masters thesis completely worn down and needing a break. This video gives me everything I didn’t know I needed. This special mixture of optimism, melancholy, mysticism and joy is everything
I mean, he looks so happy and fulfill !!!
So real, that's nice.
Really loving the warm energy in this one-- to be expected from a video where a smiling Japanese gentleman invites you to climb his tree!
But truly, Norm's videos just keep getting better and better. The cinematography has always been stunning but the editing in this video feels especially seamless, with this epic momentum, lovely music that matches the sunshine. Wonderful stuff.
Camping is not my kind of thing but as I see Norm being so excited and touched by the great nature with cool camping equipments, I feel like I'd like to try my adventure too!😊💕He looks so happy, we can see from his lots of facial expressions!😍✨
I would like to be as adventurous as you are. I spend most of the time overthinking and being afraid of living the life I want, while you are out there climbing trees. You and your videos are such an inspiration ✨
It's crazy that they are some UA-camrs like norm that make videos with quality so high that you can't even found on TV, that take you on a ride so wonderful you can't stop smiling and enjoying every new location
It didn't even felt like this was a 20+ min video, such a majestic way of filming and the choice of bgm makes it more like im traversing in an undiscovered land or something, thanks for this it motivates me to work harder as a college student to be able to go to Japan someday.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I swear, I can feel the humidity trough the video.
Dude, the more I watch your video, the more I really want to go to Japan
Norm, you have such a positive personality and there's no way someone could feel sad while watching your videos.
@@thany3 Yeah me too dude I hope they'll reopen soon
I know right. This channel is such a positivity boost.
I love the joyful music throughout your video (great choices as always). Fantastic views, including the unexpected treetop view, and a chirpy Norm bouncing through the video.
Such an amazing video Norm! The scenery is so breathtaking and magical. The drone shots were perfect. The clouds, wow! You do such an awesome job of making us feel like we're there with you. I enjoyed all the livestreams and videos of the road trip. I can't wait to be able to travel again and finally make my way to Japan and see all these places you have taken us too. Thank you so much for showing me the beauty of the Japanese countryside.
I really appreciate that
I always want you to feel like you’re right there with me
So that means a lot
I can’t thank you enough for how much you contributed to making this adventure possible
And I’m already planning the next one
So see you again real soon!!
@@TokyoLens another trip I am excited for that
Just wanted to thank you cuz videos like these really are a source of motivation for me when I don't feel like studying to study
So I can get a job and be able to visit japan
Oh and being a part of yours and Chris's patreon is also something I look forward to (when I am earning)
This makes me wants to go to Japan pretty badly thanks for the video stay safe bro
This isn’t just a video, it’s an experience of its own. Your joy and excitement are contagious, making each place you discover even more of an adventure. Thank you for taking us with you
My God! Rural Japan is beautiful and Norm you have done a brilliant job of filming it at its best.
Ugh, the cinematography of this is BEAUTIFUL. I kind of like this video best. You get a little bit of everything.
Glad you enjoyed it that much!
That shot at 8:30ish is just amazing. The castle resting on the hills with the sun barely rising is...amazing.
I'm not sure if it's worse for monetization, but I really enjoy the longer videos. Taking in more sights and just having a bit to savor the views feels better. I really want to head back to Japan now...
What an great summary of this amazing week packed with adventures. Thank you for that Norm. Hope you are doing alright.
Thank you so much for being such a huge part of it, Patrycja!!
What an awesome video! A wealth of beautiful drone shots, new information (TIL that temples can have their own onsen), and let's talk about that merch: the goldenrod colored tshirt and red hoodie just popping against the beautiful blue skies and verdant greens. Also (obviously) glad you weren't eaten by a bear! Thanks for sharing the adventures; Keep up the great work ~
Thank you so much for making this adventure possible!!!
I loved the castle in the sky, the whole area is beautiful
That was fun~ the music is a wonderful addition~~ and love the yellow shirt at the start XD
Keep up the great work~!!!
Japan has such beautiful scenery, thank you for making such a fun and relaxing video for us Norm!
Really impressive trip! Never seen better camera work anywhere, im so inspired by your video!
All too kind
Thank you so much
I lived for a couple years in a dorm room that was smaller. That camper looks like a dream to live in.
Dear Norm, thanks for showing us around Japan. All the travel, filming and editing that you do is very appreciated, to show us beautiful and interesting places. It is a great stress releaser for me.
squad ready, sir
allll about that squad!
The drone footage was amazing. Loved going over the castle and mountains. Too bad you didn't have Chris along as bear bait ;)
One thing I always miss about Journey Across Japan is the journey. I like that you put in the driving, stops for gas, cup noodles dinners, etc...
I'll check out the longer version videos of your summer exploration next.
thanks for taking us all around japan while we cannot get to the country that we all love, great stuff norm.
Man this just feels straight out of a Ghibli Movie ✨❤
Thank you for bringing us along on this journey man,
We can't imagen how many hours were put into preparing and planning for this trip, the late nights and early mornings to get some of those BEAUTIFUL shots and the time watching, editing and re-watching these videos to make them so dam good.
Again Thank You and look forward to the next video in this series.
This really was a magical week to watch as it happened. It's almost obscene how pretty everything is. Can't wait to watch this on a proper screen as my phone isn't doing it justice.
Same
This is another awesome video showing all beautiful locations that you could see. The cinematography that you do to show off the sights is amazing, it shows the beauty of places that I would never think of. In the future I hope that I could visit any of the picturesque places that you've shown in your videos. I want to see shrines/temples, torii gates, etc in rural areas and places like Akihabara/quirky places. Keep up the great work Norm, love the videos.
Really enjoying these types of videos. The Japanese countryside is just AMAZING! 🥰
Music: 1,000,000/10
Drone & Camera footage: On point
Presentation: Phenomenal
Desire to return to Japan: ERROR! REACHING CRITICAL MASS!!
Great video as always Norm! I heavily enjoyed the livestreams that I was apart of and I can't wait for the next video :)
I hope you're doing alright now or at least will be soon :D
honestly thank you so much for being such a big part of this trip!
Great pacing and music, inspiring stuff Norm.
Beautiful! Thank you for the tour, experience and opportunity to see Japan.
I've never even got out to dinner by myself, let alone a cross-country trip alone. Looks like so much fun!
Your videos are getting better and better. This video gave me goosebumps. The music is also amazing and the spots you travel to, are getting on my travel list.
Just love this video😊
Every place and road you passed through was beautiful. thank you Norm for great work.
Thank you for making it possible Sachi~
The music while you drive to the onsen in the shrine in this video makes me so emotional. 😭 it epitomises all my feelings about Japan, my amazement, my excitement to see with my own eyes one day, my hope that it is all i have dreamed and imagined and my hope that it is. ☁🏯⛅ thank you for waking up so early to get these shots and videos. 🌸 it's a real struggle and i appreciate (i have a habit of turning off alarms in my sleep like ash in the first pokemon episode, just without the throwing 😂)
If I didn't already want to visit Japan. I'd say that your videos would be a wonderful introduction to such an amazing country.
What an amazing adventure it was! If this is an anime, the full video playlist is like the episode and this video is that recap episode you sometimes get in anime to get you excited for the next episode. And I am very excited for the next adventure series! Can't wait for the next one! Great work and great video Norm! Especially the cinematography makes me want even more!! 😁
Stunning cinematography as always! Always wanted to visit the Chubu area in Japan, it looks so stunning :)
I absolutely loved joining you on the adventure and the making of! It feels special when you can vote on places you want to see and later actually join in during livestreams or premieres to see them! It was an absolute blast and I loved every second of it!
Thank you so much for the amazing adventure I hope to see many more!
Suitable music, relaxing watching, good filming, good and short commentary. Also seeing someone having fun is rally enjoyable. One of the few people who understand that a steady filming is absolutly stunning.
A day with a new video from Norm is a good day. :)
😊
Absolutely gorgeous video! That onsen in the temple was stunningly beautiful. Throughout a trip full of amazing finds, that's one of my favourite! Thank you so much for letting us live vicariously through you while we can't visit.
Thank you so much for tagging along, Stacey~
Grateful to have you here!
Haven't been feeling well lately so slow to leave a comment, but this was really awesome to watch!! I'm left with this fantastically weird feeling of "HEY I WAS THERE!" except I wasn't, I just watched the live stream of you being there. But it was still an experience we all had together, like discovering the fish in the gutters in Shirakawago! For some reason it made me really happy to see that shot in this video haha
As always, thank you so much for sharing these adventures with everyone and I'm really excited to see what you're up to next.
THIS. This is the kind of trip I want to make, like it would be cool to see Tokyo but would not choose it over these sights. Your videos are everything I aspire for~ thank you so much for uploading
LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!! After catching all the live streams and walking videos, this was great to see all the inbetween. One day my wife and soon to be born daughter will take a trip like this! Would you watch content like this yourself but from other countries like Australia?
"DON'T JUDGE MY GARBAGE"
Of course I would
If I had time to watch stuff lol
Someday!! Lol
absolutely stunning norm!!!!!!!!
I found your channel yesterday and I’ve already watched at least 15 videos. You show so much of Japan I’ve never seen in other channels and your excitement is infectious! Keep up the fantastic work! You’ve got a new fan for life! 😊
Thanks so much and welcome to the adventure~
Believe me this is the most amazing, detailed, entertaining, informative tour of Japan i have ever seen by far.
Really loved it ❤
Why do i get emotional from these videos? Just the music and the scenery makes me feel some way, weird.
yes Norm is amazing at really SEEING the nature and transferring that impression through his videos. They feel profound and make me thankful for the earth we’ve been given. We need to protect it
Same here.
Yes same. For me, happy to see the beautiful scenery, wishing I could go, and sad because we can't.
Glee and exuberance are contagious. Beautiful Country. You are most fortunate to tour it in the cute camper. Regards.
One of the best things about being an adult is that you get to climb bigger trees! What an amazing video and the soundscape was mind blowing. Loved getting to revisit some of the stops from the walkthroughs and streams as well. Everything looked so beautiful, it's impossible for me to pick a favourite. Thanks again for taking us along for the adventure. Hope you're well.
Beautiful beautiful cinematography Norm, you just get better and better 💞 a joy to watch!
Norm, your videos never cease to make me stop worrying about everything for just a few minutes and enjoy the view. Amazing location, cinematography, and music choices.
Watching this video makes me feel like I am part of a canvas where you can go inside, and see things (almost Harry Potter-esque). The scenery is literally jaw dropping, and I never knew that I was missing a campsite with fairy lights in my life. and I just love love love the KEI car (your video on the car was FANTASTIC) - it's so cool!! Thanks for the absolutely FABULOUS work, Norm - for the 26.34 minutes, I felt like I was actually in Japan!
Topping your cinematography would be just being there and experiencing all of it. Makes me wish I could maybe visit one day, let alone live there...
Love exploring Japan with you, your enthusiasm for what you are doing just makes it even better.
The music and the shots together... I can't even put into words how amazing and peaceful this whole video is. Thank you for making these. It manages to scratch my wanderlust itch while stuck at home during the pandemic. It's difficult to put into words how I can appreciate a UA-cam video so much. You have amazing talent and your videos genuinely brighten my day.
The part with gujo hachiman castle was so incredibly cool! I'm looking to go there once I get to go to japan.
Norm, you know I love your videos! Great job! Dude, you should win an award for cinematography!! It’s Oscar worthy! 👍
It's crazy how this video doesn't have a million plus views. Thanks for showing us a bunch of places that tourists normally wouldn't know about and also capturing some exquisite scenes. I LOOOOVE all the drone footage you got. I've been to Japan 8 times but I've yet to go for a drive. This video has convinced me to do a driving trip on my next visit.
I can feel his excitement. If I were there I would have the same feeling
Thank you for these camping videos Norm, thank you for showing us the side of Japan that we knew was there but just didn’t know where or how to start. This beauty is a lovely distraction!!
Wow, what a beautiful place. Parts of Romania look like this, and parts of my home, British Columbia, Canada. I've always loved the last one, have absolutely fallen in love with the second one, and am starting to fall in love with the first, thanks to videos like these. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. The intense green of the land and the intense blue of the sky, plus shrines and castles in the sky, is making my heart skip a beat. Thank you!
Your living the dream! Japan is so scenic and breathtaking. Thank you for sharing and your cinematography is amazing.
Norm's obvious joy and giddiness at doing this trip is so contagious! Amazing work as always!
Great video! The drone takes are beautiful!
I love how you always have like 3+ videos of (almost) the same thing and they all deliver, differently :D
Also the forest around 5 minutes is just ridiculously gorgeous.
19:15 is that an observatory in the lower right corner?
I love these type of videos because, while I want to visit japan, I don't care for crowds for more than a day or two. Naturally, I prefer rural areas, temples, workshops, that sort of thing. Thank you!
Norm, straight facts this has become my favourite video fo yours on this channel. Have watched it thrice in entirety already and just obsessed. Great work, man!
That first camp site was magical. I also enjoy not being attacked by bears. That purple morning haze! *chef's kiss* The drone shots! Plus the music. Totally got Philip Glass vibes and I dig it.
You really made me see more of Japan than just the cities. I never realized how absolutely beautiful Japan was!!
i would love to travel around Japan with Norm, he has such a lovely voice and a fun spirit.
