I love how brief you make these videos to include as many movies as possible BUT I would love to hear more of your thoughts on how the movies connect with the vibe of the album! Such an interesting channel, though; I immediately subscribed.
Thank you! This one was difficult because I went a little overboard and had too many movies written down. And it's a mix of movies that I thought fit the vibe of the album as well as the vibe of the movies she picked for the film series at the Roxy. And since the songs aren't all about the same topic, I feel like I was working with so many vibes that the movies I picked are kind of all over the place.
Thank you so much :) I thought of Female Trouble too! But I was also considering making a video of Chappell Roan inspired movie recs, and that's the first movie I think of when I think of her music so I left it out of this one. There'd definitely be a lot of overlap though if I make that video, that's why I haven't decided if I should do it yet
More people watch my videos on Instagram and TikTok and people don't like it when you post videos that are over 2 minutes long on those platforms and they don't do as well. If more people watched my videos on UA-cam, I'd probably make longer, more in-depth videos
@@movierecsbylex Folding Ideas, Jenny Nicholson, etc etc would like a word... You have to start somewhere but an audience that finds less than 2 minutes too long likely aren't going to stick around long for obvious reasons (fickle attention span)
@@xboneyt485 I know, but I also feel like people's attention spans in general are getting worse. I used to write actual movie reviews, but no one read them. When I started making short videos on TikTok/Instagram, at least some people started paying attention. My "movies that will change your life" videos are a lot longer, and those seem to do the worst out of all my videos, so I figured people just don't want to hear me talk for that long
@@movierecsbylex I personally don't think it's that people don't want to hear you speak for long periods (have more faith in yourself!!! 😅). Have you considered maybe it's the medium and not the message itself? It all comes down to how information is presented. People hunger for a sense of authenticity. "Movies that will change your life" sounds very "formal" and by the numbers. Why not explore the personal impact a film has had on you as an individual with hints of the creatives behind the scenes sprinkled throughout? For example "How Enter the Void prevented my psychosis aka Gaspar Noe DMT Trip simulator go BRRRR 🥶😵💫 😵" I'd watch a 45 minute video on that personally idk about you 😅
@@xboneyt485 oops I didn't type the name of that video series correctly, it's "movies that changed my life" so it's about my own experiences with each movie. I just haven't been giving them interesting titles like your example
I know, I'm sorry :( I intentionally left out Bodies Bodies Bodies, Bottoms, and Barbie since she worked on the soundtracks for those so I thought they were too obvious. But then someone reminded me she has a song on the Promising Young Woman soundtrack and I forgot about that when I included that one
Bodies Bodies Bodies, Climax, Bottoms, The Idol (first three episodes only lol)

"This video is getting way too long"
Girl what 😭😭💀
My videos get more views on TikTok and Instagram, and people on those platforms prefer shorter content
I would have picked a lot of the same movies 😂 absolutely worth watching
F charlie xcx😅
Why are you here then
the record is like 50 minutes and the total runtime of all the recommendations is like 2 years hahahahahha
Most movies are longer than a record, so that's not really surprising
@@movierecsbylex hahahahah in hindsight what i said sounds stupid, all i meant is that it would take forever to watch all the movies you listed
Absolutely bodies bodies bodies, challengers, and maybe doom generation by Greg Arakki could work.
nowhere instead of the doom generation
