My mister was the most ICONIC role ever. Yes her role in hotel de luna was badass but IU as Ji-Eun was in my opinion, the most badass character I've personally seen in any drama. Her role in My Mister made me respect her as an actress and I can still remember how genuinely happy and excited I was when her character in My Mister sincerely smiled for the first time in that drama. No kiss scene made me as happy and thrilled as that one scene in My Mister. Still my favorite Korean drama to date.

My mister is so realistic so far. The acting in that drama is on another level

1. My mister. I like seeing hope in the middle of life crisis. OST, acting, plot, everything was very well done.
2. Scarlet heart ryeo. The tragical love story has cut many onions for me. Her acting made me drown to the story as if I'm in the drama. Also love the OST.
3. Hotel del luna. This one is heartbreaking too, but still can't replace no. 1 and 2 in my opinion. Love the OST too.
My favorite IU role is Hae Soo, cuz she’s not that aggressive and she’s also not that submissive. I mean if someone picks on her or friend she’ll protect herself and her friend. And she doesn’t back down, she’s also clever and optimistic.
Try watching My Mister, you'll be surprised to find out that she can act much better now
Same!!! Hae Soo is so wonderfully complex and multi dimensional. People misunderstand her character because she isn't aggressive or badass.But that's the point of her character really, You can be aemotionally vulnerable, empathetic and still be strong simply because you survived. She's so underrated.

Why is no one talking about 'Persona'? Are all of you forgetting that she actually played 4 entirely different characters in that anthology series and was able to showcase her versatility and range in less that 2 hours?
Yes, Persona's Eun scared me, the way she played the role of witch, her wicked smile and badass character, so bold and daring especially at last when she took his heart in the jar🥶. Walk through the night was subtle, simple yet so powerful, making us think and feel deeper on human side and relationships. Each characters in person had their own own unique charms and I thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Her range and versatility is commendable.

I’ve seen her in My Mister, Persona and Hotel Del Luna. I loved them all but I think the most emotional IU I’ve experienced is with in My Mister. Hotel Del Luna had comical scenes to balance the heavy sadness sometimes ☺️ I loved them all though!!
For me, it was Hotel Del Luna that first introduced me to Ji-eun - and what an adventure I've had since then. So I will always have a special place in my heart for Jang Man-wol. Now if Netflix could bring Scarlet Heart to the UK I'd be very happy...!

It seems many people have forgotten about her role in YTBLSS & Bel Ami. But I really liked her character in "You're the Best, Lee Soon Shin (YTBLSS)". That character was pushed around a lot but when she tried to reach her dreams and when she fell in love, those were really fun sides of her.
Wow! What an actress/singer/song writer-composer, etc... She really nailed it every movie/drama she has! I can't pick a fighter for this. 😀💜 All is the best coz she gave her heart out every show.

Can’t get over her intense performance in ‘My Mister’!!
I like her in everything she does, acting, singing, dancing, and even the way she play around. You can see in her smile, laugh and gesture how good her heart is. The best character that she portray is Lee ji Ahn, you will be able to see how good actress she is. I learned a lot, it talks about how tough life is and how you are going to deal with it regardless of your age.. the cast, actors, story line and cinematography si superb 👍 it is not typical drama for me, it talks about the people and issues that everyone of us can relate. ❤️
Jang Man-wol was the most iconic, funny, inspiring and badass but Lee Ji-an was so touching, realistic and cute. I didn't like her personality at first but after knowing everything she had been through I just wanted to give her a big hug lol. These two roles were, in my opinion, her best ones, as well as the related dramas (Hotel del Luna and My Mister). I recommend these to everyone, they're both so moving and make you feel emotional but in a different way. IU is such a good singer and actress 😭.

This is what I like her as an actress, she’s very versatile and she always picks the project that’s unique and different, that’s far from the ordinary kdrama. ..
She pushes the bounds of her capacity every single time and thanks to that ,we get more and more Kdramas that are different and challenging to the norm. It’s very important because as a celebrity of her caliber , the more she picks unique projects , the more attention the drama gets and likewise more people get invested in the unique and interesting storylines , concepts etc...A story like my ajussi had it been headlined by another actress, it would not have received the recognition it did, it could have just passed off, remaining underrated . It’s very rare for idol actors to be experimental in acting as it’s a huge risk, but when they are , though it’s risky, if it works , it works really well and has an amazing impact. IU is an example of that.
I love all of them but Lee Ji-an still is my all time fave. She really did an awesome job in portraying the character, I was blown away.

My Mister made the turning point of the way i see IU in Korean entertainment industry. I had known her as an idol before but her acting on My Mister was the open door for me getting to know her better, as an angel of donation, her song achievement, her attitude and behavior, and other kindest things.
I wish all the celebrities around the world has the same angle as her or Yu Jae Seok

I've known the artist IU since her Dream High era. Through the years, i liked and listens to a lot of k-pop and watch numerous k-drama. I thought some was good but that's it. Lee Ji-An in My Mister change that, her role brought so much gravity and so relate-able in terms of how human beings can lost so much in life, yet don't lose hope at keep on going. There's almost no romance nor cheesy scenes in this drama, but it has the most impact from any others and I believe it took her hard effort to bring Ji-An into our screens. I sincerely fall into her soothing charms and proud to say i'm her fan for life. Even if she won't read this , thank you Ji Eun.

Scarlet Heart Ryeo was so heartbreaking but I regretted watching it. The scenes at the end were so gosh dang lonely! My favorite IU drama and the first one that I saw her in though, was the family one, "Lee Soon Shin, You're the Best!" where she starred with Jo Jung Suk, one of my favorite actors.

I don't know why but first when I watched dream high iu was the one who drawn my attention.....from that drama I started following her ....her music and acting both were new to me but I started liking her a lot than from that time and till now she is my all time favorite artist from Korea she is really hard working....her music gave me comfort when I was alone she is some of those artists for them I believe I am fortunate enough to know about and love them....

IU as Lee Jian from My Mister is a different level. It takes a lot of acting skills to make other people understand how sad and hurt you are without tears dropping from your eyes and still make them empathize with you. It takes a lot of courage to watch My Mister because you won’t be able to feel real happiness from it until the last scene of the last episode, aside from the first time she smiled in the drama.

i am glad many enjoyed my mister as much as i do. that role is,hands down,the most perfect for iu. eventhough the story might seems slow for certain people,but personally, it is comforting and healing.
I thought I cried enough with Scarlet Heart but comes My Mister and I’ve never felt so empty, melancholy and really sad woah. That drama is soo good but I don’t think I can bring myself to watch it again. The story is so heartwarming and heart wrecking at the same time 😭
