    What would happen if you mix glow fluid and clay? will it become glowing clay?

    • @SachitPrime

      Probably but it might stain your hands when you mould it and it would probably lose its glow when it dries

      Don't boil it, it could and probably would catch on fire. If you're looking for something easy to shape try sculpy dough. It doesn't dry out, and once you bake it in the oven it becomes very durable and can be sanded and painted, plus I think it's water proof. It's at least water resistant

    Wood does the same cracking/warping if you let fresh lumber slowly air dry, so they kiln dry it to prevent this. Maybe you could dry throwing these clay models in the oven at the lowest temp and see if that helps them dry faster, without cracking?

      JOHN W Actually they already do use starch for making drywall I believe (starch is one of the few materials that sticks well both to plaster and paper, moreover its water solubility on low temperatures is low).

    • @1Kobefan100
      @1Kobefan100 5 років тому

      would it actually be cheaper than plaster?

    • @CoolKoon
      @CoolKoon 5 років тому

      Muhammad Saleh Cheaper than plaster of Paris? Not where I come from, that's for sure. Plaster is dirt cheap here, cheaper than the same amount of starch. Moreover with plaster of Paris the only thing you need to "activate" it is water whereas with starch you also need heat. Oh and cornstarch shrinks (and "sweats") a LOT as it's losing its water content too. All in all I wouldn't recommend substituting starch for plaster of Paris.

    So, a general recipe:
    2 parts cornstarch
    3 parts water
    4 parts baking soda
    Stir it until it becomes smooth. Let it heat for about 4 minutes for every cup of baking soda. Keep stirring it while it’s heating, and once it becomes the consistency of mashed potatoes, put it on a plate covered with tinfoil to cool off. While it’s doing that, cover it with a wet paper towel. After a while it should be ready to sculpt. If you don’t want it to dry out, keep it wet.
