Well said Father and there is no any other better explanation than this. God must be praised and glorified through this powerful sermon. Amen St. Edmund Campion, pray for us. Amen!
I digress to those who say no unity of faith, no unity of love... while we are NOT united with other 'false branches': We can't use that kind of thinking- to hate others. Don't forget that the presider/homilist DOES note that we ARE to love our neighbors. We're supposed to love our enemies as well... We can't have the church living in a complete stone age past- of hatred. That's why Nostra Aetate + other encyclicals exist today.
The other thing people should understand too, it is because of people like St Edmund Campion and St Edmund Arrowsmith + the others that make up the 40 martyrs of England and Wales: They're a reason why- the US have had religious freedom since day one, and why the UK + other countries have religious freedom today also. RIP 12/1/1581 - we will never forget what happened at Tyburn. St Edmund- pray for us Pray for those who suffer from religious persecution today- Christian, or otherwise... And pray for those who perpetrate such violence Amen And the presider/homilist is so right about the four marks of the church. I count them each time when we say the creed at mass. I believe in... One, One United Church under: ...one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:5-6 RSVCE Holy, Holy as deemed- by Christ's holiness. And through Christ's holiness As we say during mass 'for the kingdom and the power and the glory are yours- now and forever' etc Catholic, Catholic under one head- the Pope of Rome. Not Anglican under the heads of King Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, etc. Or Lutheran under Martin Luther, etc And certainly not 'Positive Christianity' under the Head of Adolph Hitler- you can't get more apostate and anti-semitist than that faith was. + Apostolic The church must continue onward in apostolic succession, based on the teachings of the 12 Apostles. church
@@upup209 I think you're reading deeper into my comments, than what was intended. I don't understand what you are trying to drive at with your comment. I wasn't attempting to pit ideology vs race in any of what I had written. On the contrary, I was pointing out- why we need to follow the 4 marks of the church. We've seen- what happens- when we don't. Catholicism has never been an ideology. There's plenty of articles and statements out there for Catholic Clergy and Catholic writers- to back that up. Though I agree with you about the passage in John 8- in the sense that it tells us what it means- to be one of Christ's disciples.
Interesting comparisons could be made between Campion & other Catholics who refused to submit to the Anglican religion in the 16th C and modern day Catholics who refuse to submit to the Novus Ordo religion.
eensrds hmmmm. Novus Ordo is not a religion. It's a rite. Pope Benedict XVI moto propio 7/7/2007 said that the Tridentine Mass was NEVER abrogated. Read the writings of Pope Pius V.

@@jimg.708 Of course we are supposed to love our neighbors, but let's not endorse Nostra Aetate
