🦋I’m glad you painted the frame white under the Apothecary because I love how it turned out. I keep looking for an ornate frame, and I can never find one so I’ll just have to make one. I just love everything you’re doing in this video. Apothecary and Farm Fresh are two of my favorite colors.

I'm on a chalkboard kick and I purchased several old frames from thrift shops. I don't sell them so how many chalkboards in one house is too many? 😂🤣😂

Speaking of basics. Lol I thought of something basic when I watched your hands painting apothecary. You hands were soooo loose. I saw that with the chair you painted (Facebook video) too.
I see people having bad luck with DIY paint. I’ve always wondered if they’re gripping the brush as if it’s their last one (& don’t want it to get away).
I’m not sure you’re gonna want to do this, but I thought for us Kindergartners, you could show us your technique. I also wondered if your touch is that light with waxing? I get that you’re very light with the gilding wax. But when you white wax stuff (and the item is suddenly all white) how are you applying it? Lightly again?
This question comes from long ago when I worked with a professionally trained shipwright. We were painting the interior. I know how to paint, right? Well, apparently not! He told me exactly how to hold the brush, how to lightly paint, and then, he said, “DO NOT spend 20 minutes on this. You should be done in 5.”

Basics is always good. I have a pretty loose relaxed brush always. Probably because im always in a hurry but im also always relaxed. And with diy paint you definitely don’t want a death grip. We have some basics videos from years ago but we could touch on them again. Somethings I don’t even think about. It’s just the way I have always done it. So I have to slow down. The other reason for the light grip is arthritis. I physically can’t grip a brush tight for a long period of time. It hurts. ❤️

What type of brushes were you both using?
Question-I have used the Annie Sloan clear wax and I am not sure what I do wrong but it seems like it stays tacky even though I let set and buff. How does the diy wax compare to Annie Sloan?
I love it, it doesn’t have any harsh chemicals and it dries fast for me. Keep in mind we live in one of the driest states in the US
