It's a damn shame that a content creator like you who's so knowledgable about fighting games and puts this much effort into their videos doesn't get the kind of recognition that they deserve. Keep up the amazing videos man, good luck in all of your current and future endeavors.
I know, right? I subbed when DBFighterZ released, or maybe a bit before that. I think he was at around 4-5k maybe... i dont remember though, my memory is god-awful.
I'm extremely bad at complex combo inputs but I've always managed on my fundamental skills. On games like Mortal Kombat I'd get people doing like half-health damage combos but their fundamentals were atrocious. Just did the exact same things no matter what I did. No ability to predict or adapt. I do need to work on my combo game though, I'm not denying it's a major flaw. One thing I struggle with on this game (which 90% of players seem to do) is Turtling. They just play ultra defensively and use a Launch attack if you get anywhere near them the entire match.
1. use a good assist + dash forward and jump and you might land in jH or jM Alternatively you can use good assist + dash forward + cM M combo if you have a character with good range cM good assist would be vegeta or beam assists 2. use long range special moves (depending on ur char) and cancel into vanish to continue pressure since vanish is plus on block (use light attack after vanish) 3. you forward jump and bait cH. Example would be jump forward + dash backwards. If you opponent whiffs a certain move that has long recovery time, you might be able to punish with superdash side note: when you're jumping in neutral, dont forget to hold back to block superdashes
Today I played a guy who just kept backing and only waited to do down heavies to punish my air dashes (not super dashes), but he was so focused on punishing with 2h that I found it very easy to bait them and punish. I started walking to him from full screen and as I was close to him he did 2h thinking I was gonna air dash.
with level 1+ gohan: you can also use qcb+M / qcb+L to get close if you use Air Version qcb+H it's a hard knockdown (opponent cant techroll --> free mixup) gohan has a great cM for chasing... and one of the best standing L when you're point blank with your opponent goku black has air dive kick, and instant transmission which u can dash forward and land a hit (dont over use it else your opponent might cH you)... However, i dont think you're in a hurry to get in on your opponent... With Gohan on point, you can spam your 3 beams. Your opponent will have to get in eventually or get chipped out. If ur opponent gets hit by beam, you can vanish and get a combo example would be beam, vanish, dash-forward, cM, M, jump cancel, L,M, L,L,L
i dont know much about Beerus and Frieza but all your team has good cM especially Beerus... and cell provides a good assist. What i heard about frieza is that he has good zoning tools
The three most important offensive options: Raw level 3, Wake up supers, and random vanishes. They always work, trust me. Also if you want to look like a pro player, never punish pursuit, just block it. That's what everyone does so it must be the correct response, right?
Dennis Browning I'm just still learning fighting games so can you fill me in on why you wouldn't punish a pursuit with an anti air or something or what "wake up game" means?
DJ Wolf Kevin B answered this just about as well as I could. Stick with it man, the FGC is the best community on earth and it's always good to see another get in the scene.
Dennis Browning Yeah I tried fighting games when I was younger and was god awful (wasn't smart enough to even try inputs so it was just clunky spam) so I decided to come back and try it again and I officially love them now
Nicely explained! Neutral is more important than getting the best possible combos down pat. Not to say you shouldn't work for those combos, they can require you to win fewer neutrals to win the match. Point being, can't combo if you can't get a hit in.
I respect the fact you showed a game you lost in the background. My question for comboes is when would be a (or how can i make a)good situation to medium hit the opponent after they hit the wall to continue the combo
thanks! I unfortunately don't quite get what you are asking. Try looking up setups for your characters online, that may help with what youre talking about
I acctualy noticed it by myself, once i knew the combos but did not win the matches, Nice vídeo, plz make one with exemples of neutral and offensive "wake up" game!
the one thing i really can't grasp is movement, i'm coming from a heavy SFV background and i really don't know how to go in correctly and effectively or really knowing the range of my movements and normals, if you could cover that it would be nice please
I need some advice. My current team is: Kid Buu (point) Yamcha (mid) Frieza (anchor) My preference is all offense and damage when I play these games, I love the rushdown ability of yamcha and the overall offensive capabilities of the three. I'm planning on replacing Frieza with broly when he comes out just for the added physical beatdown capability. Anyone I should consider? Things I should know about my team? Should I change the order of my team?
DotoDoya thanks man! The only problems I'm having are extension of combos. I can't seem to get more than ten hits with anyone but Frieza unless I'm using an autocombo or a super. Also, Friezas assist is great for helping me extend combos, so I really need to learn how to do it without him for when broly comes.
Yamcha has some sick setups and pressure and his combos look sick but his damage is a bit lack-luster wjich is why he isn't top tier. Unless someone finds some sick Yamcha BnB's, he'll stay around mid tier, or if his damage gets a buff.
I usually spend hours in training mode, but when I'd comes to even fighting the CPU's, I choke and I dont know how to start a mach. I learn decent combos, then just get scared and o with auto combos. Then, when I somehow land a hit, and they hit the ground, I have no Idea what to do next. :/
I need help with something. Whenever I'm defending some attacks, my opponent keeps on going for the overhead, but I block it. Then he continues attacking then finally, the overhead comes again, and again. repeat, repeat. How do I get out of that? Sparkling blast seems to get me out of it, but I can only use that once. Any other options?
Deity Zeash the 6M is not a true block string, so any reversal (moves with frame 1 invincibility) will work, like any lvl 3, or Vegeta and Gohan's DP, reflect also is active from frame 1 so it works for the most part
One thing i learned from your vids is to utalize my assists in combos. I have goku and goku black as assists and when im gohan i can combo into it for more damage. Thanks for these vids man, helps a lot. #DotoDoyaSquad 💯💯👍
How can I get more confidence ? Like when I combo the oppenent than I'm too scared that he will counter me so I block? And how can I change in assist lvl 1 ult without doing it with my char. that I want to change?
You just gotta grind that combo out until you get that confidence. There really isn't a trick other than just constantly trying it until you get it down
My problem is when im underpressure i start shaking my hands become sweaty iforget all the combos iv been practicng and start mashing buttons like a lunatic. .Any tips please??
you just have to let it rock and experience that as many times as you can, over time youll gain that confidence and be comfortable with what your trying to do on screen.
For a sliding knockdown you need to have an UP Smash (2H, down heavy) in your combo, most can do this while already in the air, once that is done most heavy (or UP heavy attacks) will result in a DOWN Smash wich is the move that causes the sliding knockdown. Keep in mind that the grounded light auto combo does NOT result in a UP Smash on its 3rd hit it counts as a regular standing heavy with the added benefit of launching the oponent but at the price of using up your limit of one launch per combo making a DOWN Smash impossible on the particular combo. The air light auto combo will result in a DOWN Smash on the 3rd hit as long as there was an UP Smash anywhere in the combo for most cases. Some special moves have the added effect of causing a sliding knockdown as long as they hit, like nappas qcf+M that causes a slideing Knockdown without the need to even be in the air.
hi dotodoya,I wanna get DBFZ dfor my xbox one but I dont know if its worth it,if I do get it it will be my first fighting game and I am a casual that will be playing 3 times a week tops.I am Really enjoiyng your content so I thought I should ask you for help.it would be really nice if you could answer and if anybody else sees this comment can feel free to help me out too!:)
Its a really fun game! It doesn't take hours of dedicated practice so playing a lot inst necessary, but it will be tough! If you just remember that it's your first jump into fighting games and remember to enjoy yourself, you'll really fall in love with this game!
dude thannk you so very much!!!!!I actualy didnt think you would answer, but thanks for answering:)I am quite oissed that it costs 100 NIS(israeli currency)more than on pc:(but thanks again for answering:)
Youngtoad 1478 Goku Black takes patience to beat. He has good moment, so I’d suggest keeping your eye on him at all times, and try to catch him when he goes for something risky. You usually shouldn’t go for raw supers, and don’t rush in to challenge him without a plan. Since he’s a good fighter, you need to be smarter than the opponent, and beat him with that. That’s what I think, but there could be other and better answers
For spammers, they’re usually bad at the game, so I would try pressuring them, since their neutral and defensive game is weak. Also, remember blocking, auto combos get annoying when you can’t guard them
Was wondering if you had any advice on applying combos learned in Training mode into real games? I've managed to nail a fair few combos within training mode, most of them easy but a few quite flashy strong ones - but when I attempt to apply them within real matches. I really struggle not to auto-pilot into autocombos and similar things once I get that confirm. Just due to it being safe. Any way to try and break this mentality? o:
Drop combos, and go for them more often then not, to adjust your muscle memory to react to the hit confirms! The only way to get better...is by getting worse

I promise you he's getting there. He was at 2K when I subbed not even 2 months ago. He's almost at 10K.
I'm keeping up the grind!
I know, right? I subbed when DBFighterZ released, or maybe a bit before that. I think he was at around 4-5k maybe... i dont remember though, my memory is god-awful.
You could redo this video with a video that actually matches what you are talking about down to the second.
Dakota Blair well he's only doing fighters content so there will be a limited amount of subs.

Thanks for the tips, Doto-sensei.

Ty DotoDoya, this was a great video and it greatly helped me play DBFZ better, I hope you can blow up soon!
4:piccolo hellzone grenade mix ups
Great video man I really like those guide videos they're great keep em up.
That Beerus super finisher tho...
Great video and helpful as always. This showed up in my recommended and I just subscribed, remembering your earlier videos I watched.
Thanks for choosing to stick around!
Nice opponent you are fighting there.

How do you perform that type of change at 2:33?
Half circle forward assist for lvl 1 and half circle back for lvl 3
George the Warlock Thats what I figured but every time i do that it doesnt work idfk...
DarkStarMessiah 99879 it only works after a combo
George the Warlock i read your previous comment as quarter circle instead of half circle....i got it now lol thanks brother
DarkStarMessiah 99879 No problem
Wait so Auto Combos aren't the way to win?
Jk jk great video as always man!
Hey dotodoya! Min 2:54 how did you instant dash after a ➡️Medium?
João Filipe Costa sparking blast let’s you dash cancel your attacks no matter if they are blocking
I need some advice. My current team is:

I have a yamcha guide out if you want to watch that! Other than that I know there are a ton of good kid buu players
DotoDoya thanks man. I'll probably just direct swap Frieza for broly and definitely check out your video. Thanks for the replies! Got a sub from it :p
Yamcha has some sick setups and pressure and his combos look sick but his damage is a bit lack-luster wjich is why he isn't top tier. Unless someone finds some sick Yamcha BnB's, he'll stay around mid tier, or if his damage gets a buff.
Damn FellatioJoe your defense is insane
Just a quick question, how did you level 1 super with goku without dhc'ing?
SolCalibre at any moment in a combo you can qcf+assist for a lvl 1 super or qcb+assist for a lvl 3
Arigato Sensei
Good work man👍👏👏👏👏
Great video!
Thanks!
very good video buddy!!
What do you do when your opponent techs up on warmup? like what kind of meaty do you use.
I usually spend hours in training mode, but when I'd comes to even fighting the CPU's, I choke and I dont know how to start a mach. I learn decent combos, then just get scared and o with auto combos. Then, when I somehow land a hit, and they hit the ground, I have no Idea what to do next. :/
Could you teach us about defence?
Can you do a video on how to approach and movement that's the one thing I'm currently struggling with
I still have trouble landing a 2M off of a ground wallbounce vanish to start up a combo. I also have trouble making a combo off of an anti air.
any ideas to help with this? Like tips to make it easier rather than just labbing
Look up other videos of that combo and watch the timing closely and try to repeat it!
my neutral game sucks lol that is the number one thing I need to improve on.
Also could yoy make a gohan tutorial in the future?
Watching Dragonball FighterZ guides to get better at Smash Bros.
I have:
SSB Goku (Point)
Hit(Mid)
Goku Black(Anchor)
I just like being unpredictable
Any advice? I also am thinking about using Gotenks and Majin Buu
I need help with something. Whenever I'm defending some attacks, my opponent keeps on going for the overhead, but I block it. We out here!
i just need an opinion about my team ( i dunno who be a better fit at the point). point . goku(ssj) , mid. yamcha and the anchor tien
I really like your team!

Relax, you aren’t the one getting hit! Slowdown and pace yourself
How do I block super dash? No not counter block how do I just take it and the punish I know you can down heavy but how do you block super dash
you can't punish a super dash off of a block, you need to hit through it
Where the defense vid at Doto >:)
I had to watch the video twice because the name fellatio joe made me laugh too much the first time
What causes a sliding knock down that leads into super?

Played this game for hours and I still suck damn life his hard
Can you make a vid on how to beat spammers or anyone that uses Goku Black because People like that really just make the game not fun to play
