I'm not hating on Kelly for bringing up this fight, but I thought people would want to see it and I don't think he should be compared to Lomachenko for accomplishing nothing as some people do. Josh Kelly was counter punching and Daniyar Yeleussinov was setting up his counter punching which is a step ahead of Kelly’s game plan. Yeleussinov would throw a punch as a bait and counter punch on his back foot and Kelly would just counter anything Yeleussinov would throw.
Classic feeding, counter the counter. He noticed he has slightly longer arms and is a tad faster and Kelly would bite on all feints and be super tentative and only weakly commit on the counter, so simply counter the counter without even having to move back as the range is set and Kelly was arm punch reaching from distance with his tentative counters. Mohammed rabii had a way to completely neutralize yeleussinov, very smart. Yeleussinov in the pros would give Spence and Ennis hell, just like chukhadzian did to Ennis. Crawford would figure him out too though.
