    His logic is pretty much spot-on. If you buy Christmas cards, you're probably buying a lot of them. For Mother's Day and Valentine's Day, how many cards are you really buying?

    • @MurrayMelander
      @MurrayMelander 10 років тому +7

      The question doesn't deal with the most cards purchased, but rather given.

    • @jajison
      @jajison 10 років тому +4

      Murray Melander It clearly reads "card-giving".

    • @iiredskins89
      @iiredskins89 10 років тому +21

      Murray Melander yes but i mean the Christmas answer still applies to both. With your logic, Christmas is when the most cards are purchased, but not given. Why would any individual purchase so many cards if they weren't going to give them out. You give a Valentines day card to one person, and a Mother's day card to maybe 2, 3, or 4 people, if not 1. During Christmas, you send tons of cards to many people you know (me at least).

    • @skepticpunk_
      @skepticpunk_ 10 років тому +20

      This is exactly my reasoning. With Christmas, you can have one person giving and receiving tons of cards. Valentine's Day is gonna pull maybe two cards per couple, if even that, and Mother's Day is even lower. Simply put, Christmas *crushes* both of them in the sheer number of cards bought and given by individuals.

    This show seems like the best game show out of all of them structurally. Most game shows only have around 10 or less people competing for money but this one has 101 people who all have a chance of $1,000,000. That is crazy and i dont know why this is not airing anymore, it is just a perfect game show

    That last question was pure poison. It's obvious women would be more likely to pick Mother's day or Valentine's compared to a man. Women equated the attention they receive those days to reality and failed to account for all the lonely men of the world, despite one standing in front of them the whole time. Lmao, there couldn't have been a better final question.

      I thought mothers day to be fair. In my mind Christmas is more about the presents and cards that are given are often custom. Whereas we all have mothers and the holiday is about sentiment, emotion and appreciation... Which is basically how those card companies have made a fortune, by writing it down for us to pay 5$ for and pass off as our thoughts.

      One person goes up against a mob of 100 in a multiple choice quiz. Each 10 eliminated raises the prize. If the one takes the money, the quiz ends, the one gets everything, mob gets nothing. If the one gets a question wrong, the part of the mob that answered correctly splits the prize evenly.
      This was an all female mob against a male contestant because it was part of the "battle of the sexes" special.

    Valentine's Day: Generally, only people in relationships send at most one card, namely to their partner.
    Mother's Day: People send only at most a couple cards, usually to their mother, men to their wives if they have kids, possibly their grandmothers, and maybe to another couple mothers they know.
    Christmas: Lots of people send out mass card bombings to everyone they know with updates on their lives.
    Obviously Christmas.

    How can it not be Christmas? Seems like an obvious answer. Valentine's Day restricts card giving to couples (and usually male to female) and Mother's Day restricts card givings to mothers. Christmas is card giving to all parties regardless of relationship status, gender, or parental status. Even people who don't really celebrate Christmas tend to give out Christmas cards, whereas not everyone celebrates the other two holidays.
    Of course, female solipsism probably means that they don't understand that there are men out there that also give and receive cards to each other. They probably receive lots of cards on Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, so that means that _everyone_ must receive the same amount on those days, too.

      Albert Chyn Well, first Bob revealed that ALL of the women got it wrong. Once you get a question wrong, it doesn't matter what happens to the contestant. If you (as a Mob member) get a question wrong, you're out of the running for the money. So once they lit up that all 15 women got the last question WRONG, ALL of them knew only one of two things could happen from that point forward. Either a) Jason wins a million dollars; or b) NO ONE wins ANYTHING. Given that they were already out of running, and given that everyone knew it was a (possible) historic moment in the show's history, everyone was rooting for Jason to win the money, given that they (the Mob) knew they couldn't get any money.

    I can honestly understand how all of the women got it wrong. They all probably selected Mother's Day. I'd be very surprised if any selected Valentine's Day. Way too many people are single for that to make any sense. They chose Mother's Day because everyone has a mother and, from what we see in society, everyone celebrates their mother because it's their mother! But what they didn't account for is that everyone only has one biological mother that they might buy a card for and maybe one for a mother-in-law or sister if they have one. But for Christmas people send cards to EVERYBODY. It's true, not everyone celebrates Christmas, but 1) I'm sure Hallmark still counts "Holiday" cards within "Christmas" season and 2) there are so many duplicates of cards sent at Christmas that it vastly outweighs the number of people sending them. Some families send as many as a dozen Christmas cards to different relatives. That's why Christmas is the answer, though not necessarily the obvious answer.

    • @jamesalexander3982
      @jamesalexander3982 8 років тому

      +Melvin No I agree that's it's probably a narrower margin than I seem to imply, but thinking through it might have helped. You saw how some people freaked out when Starbucks took off the snowflakes on their cups and just left them red. If that's "attacking Christmas" then you know people who think that send at least a dozen Christmas cards a year...and they probably get more than a dozen a year. As soon you realize "Holiday Cards" still count as "Christmas Cards" the answer must be Christmas.

    My logic was people have one mother, maybe not, so they'd send like one card maybe, and maybe to their mother-in-law or grandmother. But people send out like so many for Christmas because you send them to co-workers, higher-ups, family, friends, and a litany of others. Even if it's not specifically for christmas people send cards around that time.
    Valentine's day is a joke I mean that was the throw-away answer. A card on valentine's day is A: the bare minimum one can do in a relationship on that day, and B: not everyone is in a relationship.

      The same goes for mothers day. It's the ''bare minimum''. I'm sure people give cards to their mother, but mostly it's a present of sorts, not a card. And even if that were the case, most companies send out a ''merry christmas'' card, some families send it to all their relatives and friends etcetera. It wasn't even really that close.

    • @nihlify
      @nihlify 8 років тому

    So does this prove that guys are 100 times smarter then women? lol just playing but there's something to be said about that Christmas answer cause I thought it was kind of obvious, valentines day there are a lot of people not in relationships and if they are typically only the guy gives a gift/card and sometimes it's just date night. Mothers day isn't celebrated worldwide and not by everyone in the USA plus even if they just include usa not world wide sales mothers day still falls short cause many don't celebrate others don't give cards and one mother could have a lot of kids and they might all just get one card. Christmas on the other hand most people celebrate, cards are common from distant relatives, cards usually come along with gifts, typically each person celebrating in a family gets a card. So Christmas was obvious.

      Good analysis. Because even before the clues came up, I said Mother's Day. But you're right. Despite not everyone celebrating Christmas, the people who do may give out multiple cards to people. Even friends send Christmas cards to other friends.
      The other element at play in that question, is that it purposely played upon the emotions of those women. They put two "holidays" in which women are the focal point ( Mother's Day and Valentine's Day ), against the biggest holiday of them all . . . Christmas. I would guess that almost all of those women answered Mother's Day.

    I think it's one of those ones that feels like a trick question and you question yourself, especially if it's a question late in the game. Christmas was the first one that popped into my head, I did start thinking that seems too obvious, and Valentine's and Mother's day are both pretty big card days. I still stuck with XMas for the same reasons a lot of folks would've: VD and MD are both pretty specific, while XMas tends to be kind of "universal" companies send xmas cards, people send cards to like everyone they know, and etc.
