Eagle Claw Inline Reel

Eagle Claw was the first to introduce the inline reel with free spool to the ice market in 2012. Now, in 2015, Eagle Claw has improved the current inline reel by increasing the length of the leg on the foot for improved use with cold weather gloves and improved internal gearing to reduce wear and extend reel life. All this with no additional cost to the consumer!
The inline reel comes in standard with a nylon body and spool while the premium model has an aluminum spool. The advantages of an inline reel for hardwater angler’s are:

• Free spool feature that completely eliminates any drag on the spool

• Free spool tension adjustment to control line speed when dropping lures or jigs

I have one of these and it is pretty good for the money. It needs a line guide. The line has come off the side while reeling if you tilt it a little to the left. Could cost you a big fish.

I have used mine once and so far I like it. However, I don't get why they call the clicker, a way to hear the turning of the spool? It should be advertised as sort of alarm if one has it on free spool and unattended. That way if it is used as a second rod, it could alert the angler that the fish is on. The way that line goes back on the spool could be improved.

put one on a rod and line, pull out the drag and it will stick in a spot, had four all ready all do the same thing

It's probably junk just like their other ice fishing products. Had an eagle claw reel snap on Hook set. Informed the company and no response.
