Do you have information where in the USA I could purchase the beautiful heart punch that has the cross hatching in it that was in the video at 1:23? Thank you
Unfortunately that one is no longer being manufactured I'm afraid, it's years old now. I did see this one amzn.to/47ELlA9 which is similar and it's the exact same brand/packaging as the heart one, you might be able to track one down at a local store or garage sale or even EBAY perhaps?
This is great. I’ve picked up several punches at thrift stores and couldn’t figure out hoe they were suppose to work haha. So very helpful. Thank you so much. I just found your channel. Yeah👍❤️
PS I WROTE TOO SOON! Thx soooo much for showing me how to use the envelope punch board! I bought one and haven’t been able to figure it out until you just showed/explained how! You are GREAT!
I am just getting interested in paper crafting. I never knew so many punches were available. I have a small collection of punches. Thanks for showing how to use them. I love all your ideas. 💕
Wow, I’ve been scrapbooking for over twenty years, and you’ve shown me hacks that I’ve never seen before! Bravo, Gwen! Oh, and I have a hack for you. If your punch is sticking, punch through some waxed paper, after you sharpen it with foil. Thank you for sharing. I’ll be watching this video again and again, for sure! 😊
Oh wow, I'm so glad Kim... that is so so good. I had planned this one for more beginners, but I am so happy you found it useful! 🎀 AND, thank you for your tip, I haven't tried this and I do have some sticky punches that I think this would work really well with, so glad you shared it here for our other creative friends xox
I did not use my punches anymore for a couple of years. But seeing your creations I love the use them again. So I'am ready to get all my boxes with punches and are going to make something beautyfull with them. Thanks so much!! Love from Leiden, Holland.
I bought my first punch nearly 30 years ago & I now have quite a few! Some get used more than others but I can never bring myself to get rid of any as you never know when you will need them! I love snowflake punches as you can get so many different ones, I have a whole drawer full (about 20 different snowflakes!) I also have lots of the same punches as you have & I'm in the UK. Great video, I learnt a few new hacks. My first punches were tiny little ones, moon, sun, star, butterfly etc, I still use these a lot. Beautiful layouts by the way.❤
We store our punches in my husband's old Craftsman tool rollaway. They are made for heavy dury and we just cleaned and painted it to match our craftsroom. Also have many stored on towel bars.
💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜 it's funny, I found a heart punch in store (anyone remember when Carl sold their punches in Newsagents??) and bought it without knowing anything about scrapping/cardmaking. I was just like ohhh that's cute, and bought it. After about a week I looked up what to do with it - and that was my intro to Scrapping... hahaha
Oh my goodness, I remember those Carl punches were everywhere at one point! That totally sounds like something I'd do too (pick up a cute heart punch just because it's cute 💗) 🤣 What a fun intro to all the paper things... there's no going back now!! xo
Brilliant video thank you Gwen. I particularly love the hacks, especially using the hearts to make a scalloped edge - so clever. I’m loving your videos.
Thank you so much Laura! I love that one too... so magic how they turn into scallops as soon as you place that card on top 🪄 I'm so glad you found this helpful, thanks for taking the time to write me this very kind message 🎀
Wow, thank you, I have lots of these little 'things' and I had forgotten how to use them and especially to use my envelop maker too. Thank you for sharing these for me too.
Great tips. One additional comment. For my butterflies, I like using the negative as a stencil the way you did to make a shadow/underlayment for my dies. Thanks for sharing
I have some of those Martha Stewart punches, and I a) didn't realize they came with instructions, and b) didn't know how to use the border and corner punches together. So thank you!
Thanks for the tips! I think punches were some of the first items I got when I started my paper crafting journey! I just pulled some out to use this week! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Diane, I use the Aluminium Foil and punch that through them. In the video, that was where I showed how to punch the foil with that butterfly punch. This is the only method I've seen and I will say that the best results I've had with it is to do it early, and frequently. If the punch gets too blunt it is very hard to fix. Just keep a stash of it in the same place you store your punches and give each one a punch whenever you use them. 👍
Oh Valerie... the joy is in the making, not in the end product. I know it can be frustrating though. I hope my tips help. There are a bunch of layout tutorials on the channel where you can scrapbook along with me, maybe they might help? Thanks for spending a little of your creative time hanging out with me 🌷🌷🌷
Thanks so much - this is very helpful! I’m going to find your tutorial now. I have a nice collection of punches that I have used many times. But I love how you’re showing all the extra things that can be done! So cool!
I've kept all of my punches... there were a couple that broke that I had to throw away but all in all I think they are something that will be useful for a long long time. Thanks for popping by the channel today Gayle 🌷🌷🌷
Thanks for letting me know... I didn't realise a suggestion could be so controversial - some people like you and me have great success, others no luck at all. I guess either way it's worth a try. 🥰
@@CreatedByGwen I am so glad to hear that!! And now that I have found your channel, I am going to have binge all your content and see more of those gorgeous layouts!! 🤗
Thank you! Now I feel the need to bring out all my old punches and start creating again! Another tip for paper scraps: use a post-it note as a handle! 👍🏼
Oh yay! Mission accomplished 💗 Oh yes, I had heard that, post-it notes make great handles, I just found I always had paper strips sitting on my desk so tend to use those. Thanks for popping by the channel today!
@@CreatedByGwen i think they need to understand that it needs to be lots of layers of aluminium foil. If you just use one sheet it doesnt work as well.
Thanks for letting me know Pamela, it's funny, a few people have said this doesn't work, but I have found it work quite well if done early enough and frequently... so I'm glad to hear you've had success with it. Thanks for popping by the channel today.
Please can you show more on the pocket punch board? Thanks for all the tips, especially using punches as a stencil! Punch are a good investment especially when using your tips.
Your layouts bring punches to the next level!!😍😍😍 Tiny punches are great to use in place of enamel dots, especially with the rising cost. Add Liquid Glass to them to bring them up a notice. Plus you can stamp on them to add texture.
I still haven't opened it 😱😱😱 but I will... I'll make a video on it once I unbox and test it out. I'm super keen to give it a try, just haven't had a lot of block time to get to it this week. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on my videos, its so nice of you! 🌸
Thank you... I've used the single punch too for enamel dots, so much cheaper than enamel dots so you can sprinkle them all over the page which I love. I hadn't thought to stamp on them first though... clever! 🙌
I'm so glad you found this helpful Leena! Good luck! There are a few projects on the channel that I feel you might enjoy and be able to scrapbook along with, so check out my step x step tutorials as well 🎀
Very informative video, thank you. You didn't mention thickness of paper or I missed it. I have had to throw a few punches out in the past when they have jammed as the paper was too thin. Any tips for un-jamming beyond slamming down on desk top to release. Eleanor
Hey Eleanor, paper... hmmmm... I actually haven't had too much trouble with that. I do only tend to use scrapbooking pattern paper or 216gsm American Crafts card stock. The only issue I've ever had was with more intricate dies and the thicker card, no issues with thin papers. My suggestion would be what you mentioned, slamming down on a desk top to release, but I'd also then recommend punching with wax paper/baking paper - this was suggested to me by another lovely creative here in the comments. Sorry I can't be of more help. Perhaps someone will see this question and be able to add in their experience below. 💗💗💗
