  • In our second video in this series, we provide an interview with Professor Mike Murphy (Programme Leader, Mitochondrial Biology Unit, University of Cambridge). Professor Murphy discusses how MitoQ works and the fact that early evidence shows it may benefit people with MS in two distinct ways.

Fasting and a low carb diet does a huge amount for your mitochondria, too.

Does it really differ than unbiquinol ? Do you have a side to side comparison

sounds like this is helpful for RRMS, are studies being done for affectiveness for PPMS ?

Hi Dana - thanks for your question. Currently, all of the evidence for the benefits of MitoQ in MS come from animal models and from uncontrolled studies of people who have been taking it. It is hoped that through activities like this and raising more awareness into the work that MitoQ are doing, it will lead to undertaking some randomised controlled trials in people with MS in the near future.
From a pure scientific perspective, there is certainly reason to believe that it could have some benefits for PPMS, but there is no evidence from actual in-human studies at the moment to support that. We will keep you posted on how their studies progress and if any clinical trials are planned - Brett (MS Researcher, Science Communicator and Co-Founder of MStranslate)
