It was a hidden feature in the Japanese NEO-GEO version of Waku Waku 7. It only affects Arina's stage by replacing the attack energy bars with the lyrics to Arina's stage song. 🎤
I don't know why it surprises me that Maruru even looks like a pokemon or a digimon for sure sun soft was based on those series to create it but its way of attacking and its design is very funny 3:21 becomes familiar to the slug guner from metal slug 5 very clear reference haha I must admit that getting the sphere of each opponent put together 7 and make a wish mmmm somewhere else I will have seen that but with a dragon lol my favorite character will always be arina for her Kawai designed the background song of her stage bro always bringing the best gameplays of the neo geo system classics : )
From what I know, Marurun is a parody of Totoro (A classic anime from Ghibli). Dandy J is a mix parody of Indiana Jones and Joseph Jostar from Jojo Bizzare Adventure. And yeah, those collecting 7 Ball of course a parody of Dragon Ball... Lol... This game is indeed a mix of lots of Parody. Anyway I just check the Wiki (Since I myself don't know about it too), Politank-Z is actually a parody of Police Tank from anime 'Dominion'. Well, that's news for me too, since I don't know that anime.
