I love Marisa, not only is she the first "big woman" of Street Fighter, but her fighting style despite being Pankraton, is actually just something that's very MMA-Looking but as simple as possible and it's not trying to look complicated but it's very polished (I'm guessing they tried to avoid doing a re-do on Falke for that). She just punches, kick and then punches you harder, with her main weapon is her determination and intensity. I wonder if a 25% increase in drive gauge across the board would give Marisa a bit of boost, wrt her "slow playstyle" and alleviate some of her glaring weaknesses. Not enough to really give her super powerful options, but more chances of getting in and doing work. Or a command counter with her stance.
I tgink when Marissa does thegrab where she punches your face into the ground and then KICKS YOU AWAY, that "kickaway" should actually count as an extra hit.
You know, I wonder if there's going to be a sort of psychological strategy (especially in high-level play) of choosing costumes and color combinations like the pale Zangief with the blue-and-white pants that make characters appear, at a glance, to have a grey sheen, which has the potential to mess with higher-level players who change their strategies based on whether their opponent is Burned Out or not, possibly causing them to react incorrectly or delay a reaction due to second-guessing themselves due to being momentarily fooled into thinking their opponent is in the Burned Out state.
I'm amazed that first JP didnt even TRY to command throw you when he had you in the corner zoned out. you were blocking it all after the third push back but instead he opted to get into close combat with marisa. like bud. the answer was right there

awesome video as always! i have one question though, what is the best way to practice classic controls? i have been playing around with modern but i feel too restricted and every time i try classic in combo trials i cant for the life of me do basic combos
Honestly the best thing to do to learn is just play. Combo Trials, especially later half of intermediate and up, can be hard even for experienced players so that's probably not the best barometer for learning Classic. Just play Classic wherever you can and just get a feel for it; use it in world tour, in arcade mode, maybe some casual matches. Over time it should feel more natural and comfortable to use. At the same time, though, don't feel bad if you feel the need to go back to Modern controls. While restricted, they give you the essentials and sometimes that's all you need.
The combo trials can get surprisingly demanding pretty fast if you don't already have the fundamentals down, so I don't think that's the best place to start. I think step 1 is building the muscle memory for special inputs. Just go into training mode and shoot hadoukens until you can do like 10 in a row. At least. Then do it again in the other direction. Then do the same for shoryukens. Then practice some super basic combos where you cancel a normal into a special. Again, just gotta go into training mode and grind it out until you build the muscle memory. Then try to put it into practice in an actual match. You'll realize it's way harder when you're under the pressure of another person trying to punch you in the face, have a brain fart, and forget everything you spent the last few hours practicing. So it's back to training mode to practice even more. Then try it again in matches, where you'll do a little bit better. Then back to training mode. Then more matches. And give the combo trials another shot once you're comfortable enough with the fundamentals. Unfortunately there's not really a shortcut, you just gotta grind it out through repetition.

Being fair, her output gets better after doing lvl 3 super. Though at first it may feel like it comes down to getting that buff for the damage and the movement speed buff, sometimes you just don't need it. i.e. fighting a Chun or Cammy, where any given moment-to-moment CH combo can lead to 1/3 of an HP bar missing on either side.
Most of the Kimberly players that I have ran into never make adjustments. They have a game plan and they stick to it. If you can disrupt their onslaught, they have no idea what to do, generally speaking. The Kimberly that Max faces seemed to be same.
For the intro, remember almost every DI after knockdown is fraudulent and you should reversal it. As for JP, wait for the spike then move forwards as he is minus on it. Only HPxMPsycho Swing is a true block string, DI any other Psycho Swings. You want to dance in and out of HP range and punish whiffs. If he gets too aggressive with MP then DI. Never block DIs after a move, always spam DI in response as you were always going to get hit by it regardless or you blocked then didn't punish it with a DI. On habit always spend 3-4 drive bars on confirms if your at full drive.

Awesome video as always dood
But if I must
In the JP battle try to punch forward. KOF trick shen woo
Maybe?
Also I remember when we were disliking this game style
Holy molly bye my 40 dollars
Good games
That gief tho, jesus lol
Kim is hard lol she is too fast, and Marisa is not A Sagat replacement, she’s too slow and I like her though lol.
Trunks: Sagat did it right he increases his strength without losing speed!
Marisa forward grab and super are so 😮💨
@21:48 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Kim is a menace", meanwhile getting shitted on by filthy JP plays 😂😂😂
That Zangief player is top tier.
Guys, I need your help, have nowhere else I can ask this. So I'm playing the game on PS5, I won 3 ranked matches already, but I don't seem to be earning any league points. Why is that?
Did you play your first 10 qualifying matches?
@@Mp0D Oh, maybe that's it. First 10 matches doesn't count? Alright I'll keep playing then. Thanks!
@@Mp0D Got my 10 matches and was placed on bronze league. Guess I'll start earning points from now on. Thanks a lot for the help.
I hate J.P with a burning passion lol. Zoners have always been my least favorite to fight though. It's more fun getting your ass beat by someone who got hands 😂
JP: Have you ever played an NRS game... Well your about to learn today
@21:50 LMFAOOOOOOOOO
If JP is allowed to get away with the shit he does, then Akuma better be busted as fuck when he shows up.
Ah bro akuma is gonna be a monster forsure. I’m interested to see what all they give him cus technically he’s a shoto and the other shoto’s in this game have more sauce than they’ve ever had so I assume akuma will too.

WTF man
I love that there are OP characters. Gives the game some spiciness
or raging because look at that!!!
4:53
When are you putting out the Cammy matches ?
Yes she is, and that's why I love her. 😂
Also, I can't believe I'm first
I dont know. I switched to dj because i felt like kim didnt have good normals...
I might have to start playing more kim and just get better with her
Her normals aren't great, but if you can get the combos down, the shit is critical for any opponent, as you could see from Max getting washed that one match.
Yes! Yes! Yes! No! Yes! No! Yes! Yes!
JP better get a big wizard hat in a later costume
Kim aint fucking around!!

This character is so broken, unbalanced or too OP!
Because look at that!!!
It just be spammed so much!
He's not broken or OP it was just obviously Max's first time fighting a decent JP player
Goenitz is officially coming to KOF 15, and he gets a Boss Challenge as well. The rewards for beating him include his music, his Boss Challenge costume, and you get the stage as well when you beat your first Boss Challenge. He would put Lily in a spot of trouble in a Capcom vs. SNK game.
Noticed Max doesn't Use Marissa kicks much
Boss Rage?!
Its still weird to see Marrisa and not Ken haha
Guys I think JP is a pretty good character. I think he’s pretty good
