She's pretty good but I wouldn't say she's "destroying" the top competitive bracket, at least not yet. Wouldn't even say she's top 5 with the current results.
I wouldn't say she's dominating per say. Imo she jus has a crazy definitive way to win. Like if you ate 4 grabs, you dyin no matter who you are. Other characters are better at getting in than Manon, and staying in too. Just like most grapplers, she can excel in a cammy or ken matchup because they need to get to her, so most of the work is done for her. She's good agains the top tiers, but when she goes against the rest of the roster she struggles.
I'm in the same boat. I think the key is taking advantage of how drive rush gives you extra plus frames on hits, so it's probably in your (and my) best interest to spend some time in practice mode, and figure out what new combo routes open up on drive rush. And if you favor rush-down characters, like ken, the drive rush becomes another tool in your mix-ups, too. And if you counter or punish counter with a drive rush move, you get even MORE plus frames on hits, which opens up even MORE combo routes.
Manon is also the only one who HAS to interact with the opponent to get the stacks. All the other characters with number counters (Kimberly, Jamie, Juri, etc.) have the ability to get stacks without the interaction. Plus Jamie has SO many more ways to get his stacks and only needs 4 of them.
Considering they play very differently and the way they can get those buffs are different... it's not really a fair comparison. It would be like saying "Juri has to charge a stock before she gets a fireball but Ken/Ryu just get to shoot them whenever..." They have completely different kits, so they fall different rules.

@@XellosNi That's what WT mode was missing, I didn't get to make Manon my waifu in spite of all that effort spent leveling our bond.
Nah man light spin moves you the shortest distance so you are probably thinking of heavy spin. Using it as a direct counter to fireballs has to be a hard read because at longer range the opponent will recover in time and it also leaves her very vulnerable to DI as do all of her longest range pokes.
@@evilweevle Well, yeah, but that's Manon in a nutshell. Just like how going for the throw every time makes you too predictable, sometimes you just empty spin, sometimes you kick. Literally everything depends on how much gauge they have, so everything is situational relative to that.
All I'm saying is that it should be getting a lot more use than the basically none that I'm currently seeing.
@@rainbowkrampus it doesnt get used much because its not that good.
i cant get out of silver 5 to save my life lol. rank oportunity = -40
Good luck to you.
Back to Ken, fireballs and throwing
