Ah this was brilliant. Some really good advice and the point about thinking you need that something else is so true! I do it all the time. I'll get a loop and a groove going that I LIKE but I still think to myself....it needs something else....and then you can't find that something else and then you get annoyed and start something else .....and so goes the last couple of years 😂

the thing of simplicity is that we're too amazed by complex stuff that we find it hard to be/make simple. Monster groove on that beat man! Great video!

Been producing for 11 years and still struggle with arrangement. Thanks for the great content. Sometimes you just need a different perspective.

Great stuff as always Julien. Even that little tip to move your 8-bar loop to bar 49 is enough to change your perspective on the track and get those creative juices flowing again.

Great video! This way you can make a really quick arrangement and effective as it goes. Two things are important tho: you have to know what kind of music you wanna produce and then have already the right sounds, chords, drums and etc. set up. In my experience, that loop creation is time consuming. That’s why it is so easy to get lost in that loop: it takes a lot of time until we get the feeling of what the song is gonna sound like, then we are happy with that but tired to make an arrangement then. So... that’s my experience at least. I’m gonna give (another) try :p

I start with a custom template all color coded instrument sections and color coded 16 bar sections in the sequencer, which makes for more of a bird's eye view of the song as a whole. Mindset of that full arrangement going in definitely advisable. Nice tuturiol video homie what your working on sounds good as per usual

Hey Julien, fantastic video mate, I'll definitely be purchasing. I'd love to see some more videos around this subject, it seems to be be where a lot of producers struggle, me for sure. I'd love to see you take this idea to completion. Like reviewing sections where you need more interest or energy, adding little incidental FX and automations to make it release level. Do you have a sample pack of purely subtle risers, crashes and noise sweeps?

@@user-uf5jj7yl7j Indeed, totally agree although having a good sample can often keep you in the creative zone, I hate stopping composition to sound design, I always feel they should be two separate sessions.
