  • Here's Jordan Peterson's Great Books list:

Island is Aldous Huxley's "utopian novel" offered as an antidote to his dystopian Brave New World. I talk about the different utopian ideas discussed in this novel such as family structure, education, initiation rituals, sex, technology, religion, and psychedelics. I liked this book. I view it as Huxley's solution to the meaning crisis. Was he correct?

Great review! Very hard task to try to complete his whole list. I'm trying my hand at it myself but haven't gotten as far as you. Keep up the good work

Loved this book! The death scene was powerful-also alot of the ideas go against what peterson talks about which is cool of peterson to give us this education of ideas.

Remember reading this in my mid teens; in retrospect it was influenced in some way by Thomas Moore's Utopia!
