Great points. Really liked the one about congested decoy spreads.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. I see a lot of people pile their decoys into one area only to have the birds shortstop them or land on the far edges of the spread. I’ll be doing a decoy setup video here soon to go into a little more depth as to what I’m talking about.

Appreciate the tips. Come to South Dakota it's a dream to hunt ducks...better than Nebraska

Experience and time is our best scouting tools I'm on my 33 year of duck hunting in CA and have seen the refuges I hunt change over time. However most seem to keep the same areas whether free roam or blinds that stay good year in and year out. Statistics are kept better here where as in Nebraska and other areas statistics aren't always kept year to year. Opinion on wind spinners? Hook a brother up with some pigeons lol

Wind Whackers are okay.. some days they work, other times they’re not worth a damn. I still won’t use them lol but my old man loves his. I’ll usually hunt a blind near him when I know he’s putting those out, just to piss him off.

You’re absolutely right about time and experience. That’s really the only way to be continuously successful in CA.
