So I recently just got my gf this earbuds today to go with her iPhone SE 2020. Connects easily and sound is satisfactory. She only uses this to make phone calls. So this fits the bill for just that. There is a delay voice sync when watching UA-cam. Which is a bummer because I watch a lot of UA-cam videos and would not recommend this for that sole purpose. The soundliberty 88 would of been a great all around if only it worked with streaming videos but for what my gf needs it for. Phone calls and listening to music. It gets the job done. Okay here is an UPDATE: I should of test these on my Samsung s10e before commenting because these buds have no video delay on my phone! I can watch UA-cam videos without issues. These are incredible on Android!
Anthony that is very interesting. I experienced very little latency in UA-cam but saw it more more often in Video chat. In UA-cam the only time I noticed it was when I fast forwarded videos. When I would fast forward I noticed sometimes the audio wouldn't catch up. I wonder if the experience is different between Android and iOS. My tests were on the Google Pixel 4 XL. Thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us. Be sure to stop back if you notice it changes or have any other useful experiences to report. Glad they are getting the job done for phone calls and music though. Have a great night!
Thank man! I appreciate your kindness. I am just getting started with my tech videos so hopefully if I keep pouring everything I have into them, cool people like you will keep showing up and enjoying them. With any luck maybe maybe one day I'll have a handful of new subscribers haha. 😂 Have a great day and weekend!
Great review. Thanks. Will the 88's work for WhatsApp/Zoom calls? I'm really new with TWS earbuds but as far as my experience goes some have very different mic configurations. I own a very cheap ones (unbranded!) and the mics only work for phone calls. When I'm using WhatsApp/Zoom/Meet calls the earbuds mics are disconnected and my voice goes trough the phone's mic. That's pretty annoying... Will I have the same problem with the TaoTronics 88's?
Nope they work great for video calls! You won't have any of the problems you are currently experiencing with these. There's going to be a little bit of lag because Bluetooth 5.0 just isn't quite there yet to keep up but that's will be the case with most Bluetooth earbuds. They work as good as just about any others under the $85 price range for video calls.
@@daddoestechyt I really appreciate the time you took to answer my question. Thanks A LOT. I love the production quality of your videos. I'll be waiting for the next ones!! Cheers!!
Listening through my TaoTronics SoundLiberty 88. Everything is cool but I really need to turn off that “connected & disconnected” announcements that come on each time the earbuds connects or disconnects from my phone. It’s actually pretty loud and one cannot turn down the volume of those announcements. Annoying stuff!
I totally can relate to this! THE BRITISH VOICE! She talks Everytime you open or close the case. I haven't found a way to disable this. If you find a solution let me know. I mean she is super polite and all but the way she says things in her accent makes me feel like she is mocking me LOL.
Awesome! I hope you really enjoy them. Feel free sure to stop back and let everyone know what you think. I was just wearing them this morning. Have a great day and thanks for watching!
Thanks that's very kind of you to say. I'll do my best to keep getting better. Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it. It's a pleasure meeting you.
Absolutely. The mute function from your phone or whatever device you are using will affect the mics in the Bluetooth earbuds. I use them for conference calls and video calls weekly and I always keep myself muted until I need to speak. Great question. Thanks for asking!
@@daddoestechyt thanks for the response! Can I also mute using any of the touch functions that are available for volume control? I could not find anything related to that on the product manual.
Sorry for the late reply on this. Another great question! Unfortunately mute function is not available from the touch controls. I will say that is something worth potentially adding in their support forums for product improvements because I think that would be a great addition. I also think it would be cool to see them offer up mappable touch controls, where there would be blank tap functions that you could assign whatever you want.
@@daddoestechyt thanks for the response. I ended up buying the Jabra Elite 75T a week ago from my local best buy. They have a touch mute function that is super convenient when on webex, ms teams or google hangouts.
The "Recorder" on Pixel phones only records from the phone mic, can't select Bluetooth mic I believe. Try tapping on the earbuds while recording to confirm it's actually recording from the earbuds. The sample in this video was not from the earbuds mic.
Hi victorinoxs thanks for the comment. The point you are making is true and an updated mic test was done in another video which is linked in the pinned comment on this video, as well as in the description and video cards. Feel free to check that out for a more updated mic test.
Sounds good! I appreciate the comment! It's people like you catching that stuff that help is all so we have accurate information. Plus I need people teaching me stuff too lol! Have a good day buddy!
The mics are more or less the same so call quality will be the same. Sound quality is way better on the 79 but the 88 are more just casual earbuds not meant for cranking tunes or loud places. The 79 will passively block out sound with the rubber tips making them great for loud environments or for working out and running. The 88 you can wear all day and hardly notice them since they don't have rubber tips to seal off your ear. They are great if you just want to keep them in to listen to music and take phone calls, or just wear one of them just in case someone calls or listen to a podcast. If you have more specific questions about them let me know.
@@daddoestechyt I plug the charger in....one light is on ...far left then it goes out after a few secs and no lights are on. ???? what does that mean. I just bought these.
Thanks to a very estute comment from @Surf&Turk, he mentioned that the pixel 4 does not record Bluetooth devices in the recorder app. I have verified this to be true and reposted my test in an updated mic test video that you can find here. ua-cam.com/video/cAoz1QPHaTU/v-deo.html
I don't think the Recorder app on pixels use the Bluetooth connection for voice recording. Can you please verify? It could be recording through the phone's mics.
Good call my friend! You could possibly be correct. I am going to record some tests via other apps and through my PC. I will update this with my findings. Thanks for your comment. 🙂
I have verified that you are correct @Surf&Turk! I just posted an updated test and the results were interesting. You can check it out here. ua-cam.com/video/cAoz1QPHaTU/v-deo.html Thanks again for the great catch!
DO NOT BUY THESE HEADPHONES!!! They are the WORST!! I purchased a pair and they never charged to the fullest and they would die after 10 minutes. So I called Taotronics customer service and she stated that they would send me another headset... which I thought was very kool of them to do BUT, when I got the OTHER pair they did the exact same thing! I called them back to explain that the same issues are happening and she stated that they would send another one to me. By this time I didn't want any more of their products just give my money back ,which they did. However, it was strange that they told me to keep both of the none working sound liberty 88, they didn't even want their Own products... something to question in my book. DON'T BUY THESE!!!
I purchased this today because of your review. Can't wait to check on it once it arrives soon.
I’m watching this useing them
Awesome! Hope you enjoy them! Merry Christmas!
That's great! They are solid!

The mic on the Soundliberty 88s sound better than the mic you used to record the video. I was pleasantly surprised.
Great earbuds! I make almost all my phone calls using them. It's definitely where they shine.
Dude your video looks so good! Why you have so little subs

How do you know if they are fully charged? Thanks
Once all 4 lights on the front are all solid and no longer blinking, that is when they are fully charged.

Is it safe to use phone charger to charge this tws (5V 2A), or do you need 5V 1A adaptor
Which is better 88 or 95?
I think the ear detection works a bit better on the 95 but overall from fit and functionality, I prefer the 88 to the 95.
