- Had a very easy afternoon fishing from the back of my car, at Pottery Bank in Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne. Had a few little fish, was a nice comfortable venue, and I would go back but I'd make sure it wasn;t a massive tide next time.

It's just a lot of respect for you, Just a lot of respect to you, well done 👍👍👍👍
Thank you 🙏 very much appreciated
Absolutely fantastic 👏👏👏
That's the way I have to fish nowadays being a decrepit old fart, what a shame about the crap in the river, I have to say a lot of our tidal stretches are as bad sometimes, great session Hinny, take care, Norfolk Ray
Thanks Ray
Whatever it takes to get you out and about fishing, I hope you still enjoy.
Yeh the debris was bad, I suspect it just pools around this part of the river constantly. Might not be as bad on a smaller tide next time 👍🎣🐟
Well done Hinny always difficult in big spring tides, i used to like the block tides better. Looked like a small whiting to me, tight lines
Thanks John
Yeh, smaller tides definitely better - I went back to a nearby mark after that (video coming Monday) and did quite well 👍🎣🐟
Fished up there a few times never been very successful you done a lot better than me well done keep em coming😅
Thank Colin
I’ll go back in the Autumn, I enjoyed fishing there, it has great potential 👍🎣🐟
Very good, dont know how many times ive fished there. Used to live on the bank, and i used to walk the dog down there before it was landscaped. No one used to fish it,but i saw a light on other side regularly and suspected he was fishing, was always in the dark. The consensus at the time was it was to polluted to hold fish. Anyway one day i walked down and a famous north east angler was on the rocks at low tide in front of were the old tar works was, just a bit lower down from you. He'd fished 3 consecutive low tides, hed had 40 fish, cod up to 5lb,and coalies up to 3lb. Well the word went round and it was rammed after that. Id never fished for years ,it inspired me to buy some gear and give it a go. Biggest i had out of there waa just under 4lb,but an old felka had an 8lb cod, right next to the green pole, bit of history for you, cheers
Thanks John
Amazing that fish like that were caught here, I’ll be giving it another go probably autumn / winter 🎣👍🐟
Hi pet .. good vid , tyne fishing is easy and comfortable but the pull is always horrific and big tides will guarantee a load of crap flying down the river .. the first fish you weren’t sure about was a whiting but that last one was a smelt .. I catch them high up the tyne at blaydon
Thanks Mark
I’ve never seen a smelt before, so just looked it up, yeh 👍
New species on my list 🤩
Good to see you oot an aboot lass..keep up the good work.Whitein by the way..Cod have a beard an Haddock got a black thumb print on the side an Coalies are dark green almost black where Pollack are more coppery broon.
Thanks Hugh
They look different when so small, it had me confused 🤩🎣👍🐟
@@fishinghinny An Mackrell are..well jist mackrell an Crabs are irritating itch🤣🤣🤣y little buggers !!
😆
well done good to see you out and about catching again.
Thanks John
Yeh it was good to catch a few 👍🎣🐟🐟🐟🐟
That's a whiting Hinny. Always toons of them in the Tyne, hopefully be gone soon lol. There is also codling in the tyne still to upto 2lbs (ish) Tight lines pet.
Thank you 🐟 hopefully I’ll get some more codling next time 🤞
Its great to get out in the fresh air. Fish are a bonus 😊
So true 👍
I’ve been out today on the beaches, blustery, loads of weed about, no fish … still had a great time 🤩👍🎣🐟
Lovely little session. Good to see a river mark for a change and calm conditions. My type of fishing, comfy from the car :-)
Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. So enjoyable.
Thanks Paul
It made a nice change from the rocks.
Comfy and easy fishing, what’s not too like 👍😆🎣🐟
Another cracking video and nice comfy fishing for you look forward to more of your adventures tight lines 🎣👍
Thanks 🙏 🤩🎣👍🐟
Brilliant to see how you work at you're fishing. Brilliant.😊
Thanks Paul
I’m like that, when I find something new that I enjoy, I jump in with both feet and get as good as I can.
Always learning
👍🎣🐟
Great video, and a nice easy mark to fish from the car. Big tides never seem to help fishing from the shore. Look forward to your next trip!
Thanks Greg, yeh it was a struggle that day. Heading out shortly today to try another river mark on a much smaller tide 🤞
Good afternoon young lady...
Well I think you did well considering the size of the tide and the amount of flotsam coming down the river... well done and thank you ...
😊🎣
Flotsam 🤩👍 that was the word I was trying to think of when I was there, haha thank you, I’ve been trying to get that ever since. Was good to get a few fish too 👍🎣🐟
Well done for sticking that session out,and for catching..keep the videos coming.
Thanks Neil
Lots more to come for this year 🤩👍🎣🐟
Dedication Hinny, well done. Those fish were whiting by the looks of them, they're sometimes in the river in large numbers. St Abbs for me later this week, it's a bit more scenic ! Thanks for posting.
Thanks Ash 👍
Have a great time at St Abbs
Hello dear, I think it's a Pollock the fish you caught, I love watching you fish.👍💪
Thank you Michael
Very much appreciated 👍🎣🐟
Nice😊
😊👍
Nice video and some nice fish that's the problem fishing the tyne crap floating down river
Yeh loads to contend with on that day-
I will go back though, I’ve not done much river fishing and quite enjoyed it
🤩👍🎣🐟
Good to see you out and enjoying your fishing. Nice little session. Well done. 👍
Thanks Ray
Yes I’m thoroughly enjoying it 🤩🎣👍🐟
Nice one, pity about the debris in the water , I fish a river system spinning for bass, I find the bigger tides bring out all the rubbish from the bank as the tide grows, dropping tidal coefficients make for cleaner fishing rather than growing. Well done on the four fish when lots are struggling.
Thank you 🙏 yeh the debris was a pain, but still I had an enjoyable afternoon, I will go back on a smaller tide sometime to try again 🤩👍🎣🐟
Nice venue again me dear, I agree it’s what we call a pin whiting or ting in Norfolk, 👍🏼
Thanks Steve
Yeh it was nice and comfy on this trip out, back on the beaches for tomorrow’s session though 👍🎣🐟
Well done again Hinny in tough fishing conditions , I had 2 trips out last week but the swell the first day was shocking but the 2nd day whiting bonanza !! Keep up the vids 👍🐟 tight lines.
Thanks Adam
Yeh I saw the swells last week, there were very angry seas at times
👍🎣🐟
Canny session there hinny, it's worth leaving a bow in your line when the tide starts pulling, your weight will dig in more or less where you cast it, Those 2 fish were whiting. Look forward to the next video, tight lines.
Thanks Paul
I’ll do that next time 👍🎣🐟
Can't beat an easy session from the back of the car. Add in a few fish, and you can not ask for more.
Was great Colin, I’ll take more notice of the tides in future though as I could have had an easier time at a different venue 👍🎣🐟
Definitely my type of fishing. All you had missing was a bed😅❤
Haha I have slept in the back of my car before so technically I did have a bed
😆🤩👍🎣🐟
Well in there lovely..good little session..
Definitely whiting,,one way to know is the smell of them,,very strong odour..strangely the flesh isn’t strong🤔🤔.great video again..👍👍
Thanks Charlie
Haha I’ll have a proper sniff next time I get one 😆👍🎣🤩
@@fishinghinny haha,,careful,,folks will think your on something,,🤣🤣🤣
For you to bounce like that when you catch s a good thing fishing is a skill a game of chance a fist full of luck and most of all it can help you in everything you do tight lines lass and crack on to the next session
Thanks Barry
It’s certainly keeping me on the right tracks 👍🎣🐟
Brilliant video . Similar to the bull nose on river ribble .in Preston . Can do same fish out back off car . . A .. I TELL YA SUMIT . YOU CAN CAST THAT ROD . WELL IN EXCELLENT . LOOK FOR TO NEXT VIDIO . STAY SAFE OUT THERE . BEST WISHES IAN FROM SOUTHPORT 😊😊😊😊
Thanks Ian
Haha yeh I have learned to bend the rod to get distance on a cast.
Thanks for watching 🙏👍🎣🐟
Well done, decent cod.l go down there with my niece with the dog, certainly a lot more anglers than usual, my niece wants to give it a go, so I might have to dust of my gear and have a try myself.lts always snaggy but it's a good spot. 🎣 😊
Thanks Bren
Yeh get the gear out and get fishing 👍🎣🐟
Well done another great vidio
Thanks Thomas
I hope you’re well 👍🎣🐟
Hi it's Rich again I'm from that part of Newcastle and have fished where you are many times you just got to watch out for the rats stealing you catch if your leave in a bag on the ground lol but I mainly fish further upper river near St Peters basin but all these places can produce good fish my best fish around here is 4.8lbs but I've heard bigger but not seen them bloody fishermen's tails lol it's good your giving the tyne a go many ppl won't fish the river and call ppl who do River monsters which is quite funny good luck tightlines whitting is the mystery fish
Haha river monsters 😆
I enjoyed fishing there Rich, will definitely go back again in the future
👍🎣🐟
Looks like a fun session. I'll have to have a chuck down there. Well done. 👏 👏
Yeh was nice 👌
Give it a go, I’ve heard decent fish get pulled out here quite regularly 👍🎣🐟
@fishinghinny oh really, awesome. You may have just twisted my arm hahaha
Hi Dannielle , another great video , its a whiting , it is handy having the car so close means to can sit in the hatch & watch your rods, speaking of rods you may want to get some rod wraps to put on the fence it does save your rods getting scratched damaged , take care , looking forward to your next adventure
Thanks 🙏
Yeh, I keep forgetting, I usually take a rod bag and wrap that around railings etc, I should look after the rod more
🤦🏻♀️😆👍🎣🐟
Pretty sure like previous comments fish were little whiting, pouting are similar but more of a diamond shape, and the few I’ve had have a stronger pinky tinge along the dorsal area.
Thanks, yeh that seems to be the general consensus, little whiting 👍🎣🐟
it was a small whitting . have you been fishing very long you seem to be a very good angler
Thank you
I started during the summer of 21 when Mark and I were on holiday in Scotland, I was bitten by the bug straight away and have done loads since then, always learning though 👍🎣🐟
Whiting Danielle ❤🐟
Thanks Chris
Whiting seems to be what most people are saying 🤩👍cheers 👍🎣🐟
I caught a 6lb cod at st peters basin a few year ago had nowt decent doon there since ,went aweek later and some bloke come up saying a 6lb cod was caught here last week,i said aye a naa it was me lol he couldn't believe it when i showed him the picture lol
Amazing 🤩 I didn’t realise fish were feeding so far up the river, I’ll be going back again to that spot in the future 👍
Rule of thumb for me while fishing the Tyne was to fish it on a small tide less tidal pull . As you say it's a massive spring tide so all the crap on the river banks would have been picked up by the big tide..
Thanks James
Yeh, would definitely check the tide height before going back to that spot again, I will give it another go there as I enjoyed the car fishing 😆🤩👍🎣🐟
You do pick some places Hinny 😂
Haha thanks
Was comfortable, and fished, not too bad - I’ll try again there for sure 👍🎣🐟
Well done on the fishing, music is annoying though! 😂
😆😳🤦🏻♀️ haha, I know - what an unfortunate song to be on the radio when I was recording - can’t stand them. Hadn’t realised until I started editing 🥺
that fish was a polick
Hi Michael
General consensus seems to be saying it was a small Whiting on this occasion 🤔 not sure the Tyne holds many Pollack either, but it was a fish, so I was very happy to catch and release 👍🎣🐟
Can you do beach fishing in eyemouth? Lush spot loads of flatties about
Hmmm I’ve not done any beach fishing there yet, always lure. But, I am up there for a few days next month so I might do 2 days lure and one day bait/beach - food for thought 👍🎣🐟
It was a whiting lol. Few hundred yards to your right. St Peter's basin. Last week my mate got 2.5lb and 3.5lb cod first 2 casts. I posted the pic on Facebook. He's always snappy haha.
Thanks David
I’ll have a look at that mark sometime too 👍🎣🐟
I was fishing St Peter's yesterday and caught five codling & three whiting the codling was just under 2lbs david
@@fishinghinny love your videos. Thanks for the reply. But to be honest I make for pottery bank. But big tide there, is a fat no no. So much trash. It's like a funnel coz it's not very wide. I'm 61 so stay quite local to Gateshead. Now that babet wrecked the piers. Tight lines hinny.
@@richardsales6996 bollocks your a cockney haha.
👌
Whiting
Thanks John 🙏👍🎣🐟
It's a whiting.
Thanks Billy 👍🎣🐟
@@fishinghinny your welcome and doing well keep going.👍
shark
Haha, I can see how you may get that confused with a shark, I mean it was massive 😆🤩👍🎣🐟
Well done hen keep fishing your doin well 👍👍👋👋👋
Thanks John 🙏👍🎣🐟
