3 years after this tutorial was posted, I’m making it. This is my very first shawl project to make so I’m super excited about it. ❤ you Crystal, you are/have been my go to for crochet…everything. I’m old enough to be your mother but I’ll consider you a crochet buddy instead. 😊
The way you explain when you are teaching is amazing. If I had never crocheted anything except potholders, I could follow this tutorial. And you are the ONLY teacher that doesn't make me absolutely nuts when explaining to beginners. I love your tutorials and I have so many saved I will still be at it when I am 90! Just wanted you to know how appreciated you are.
Kati, what I do is watch all of Crystal's tutorials along with the ads. If you save the tutorial without watching, she doesn't earn any revenue. Crystal has mentioned that very few people watch her tutorials. You can even put a tutorial on play and go to bed. I want Crystal to make enough money that she continues to make videos. Just my two cents.
Hello from Canada. I truly love your tutorials Crystal as I've made many of your items. I only crochet from utube which is ok as there are so many beautiful things to make. I started making this shawl this morning. I'm going to be making 5 of these shawls for low income seniors ladies in a nursing home. To date I've already made 25 shawls & my goal is 40 by Nov. I'm making 5 shawls per design & not duplicating the colors so the ladies know which shawl is theirs. I'm making some in solid colors & others in bright cheery variegated colors. Can you imagine how bright & colorful all these lovely ladies will look sitting around chatting. I'm so excited to get these done. Also I recently completed 15 colorful lapghans for the men in the same nursing home. What a bright party that will be. LOL
I’m so happy you put the links to the rows in the comments. I am a fairly new crocheter and this is my third try at a shawl and other than having to frog a bunch of times when I did something wrong, I have been able to stick with it knowing I can review the rows again and again. thank you so much for this video! 😊 I am not done yet, but it’s coming along nicely.
Thanks for the pattern . I modified mine and made it navy and yellow & added some tassels . I think my mom is going to like it . She is now a grandmother so she needs a shawl .
WEEEEEE!! I am jumping for joy at you teaching the picot edging! I tried to figure it out from written directions and have never been able to figure it out. You showed EXCELLENT instructions on how to fo it! You are an AMAZING teacher, Crystal, THANK YOU!!😃❤
I can't wait to hear all the oohs and aahs when I show up at all the upcoming holiday events wearing this gorgeous shawl. TY Chrystal for designing such a pretty shawl. Vickie G
Love you Bling shawl, AND thanks so much for your craft room tour you shared, in another video. I don't understand why anyone would bash you for your collection of yarn. I think some people collect negative thoughts, and sling mud, because their minds are muddy. Mat 7:5 "5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."
Hi 👋 Crystal I love 💕 this shawl can not wait to give it a try. Hope all is well with you and your family , I can’t thank you enough I have enjoyed your video s all summer long .SO thank you 😊 thank you 🙏 See you soon.Stay safe. Mary.
I just finished this shawl in Aran fleck. The pattern was easy just as you said and the picot edge seemed appropriate which was simple to get. This is your first shawl pattern I’ve worked so - on to the next one as you have oodles to choose from. I subscribed to your other channel and enjoy keeping up with you there.
Crystal is the best teacher ever. I have not found anybody easier to follow and learn the 🪡 from. You break it down perfectly for us to follow. Thank you for being the wonderful, generous and kind person that you are. If you get a chance will you do a beginner shawl tutorial using the Caron Halo Colorama yarn or suggest one of your other tutorials that would work well with this yarn.
Absolutely love the shawl I made with this pattern. Went 52 rows out of teal Mandela so it's big enough to be my grandma shawl for the new grandson on the way. Made a matching scrunchy with the left overs for my grandma bun too.
Crystal, my Kraemer yarn came today, and it is an amazing midnight purple with the sparklies....this pattern is flying off my hook. I will send a pix when done. So much fun, and your tutorial is so very clear. I can write it up for you, if you want. I am almost done with the A Night at the Opera using 2 weight 100% wool from Herschnerrs. It is magnificent...but taking way longer. I love that herringbone stitch...going to recreate a favorite Baja hoodie using it.
I love 💕 this shawl, I used to knit the sweater jackets with the dear or moose on them, then got into the shawl phase and can't seem to get enough patterns, love browns, black, reds with all kinds of bling, bling, thank you for this tutorial, love, love it.
Thank you for all that you do for us. This pattern looked so inviting. I'm making this shawl using Caron Halo, color Tin and Tan, a giift for a dear friend. I appreciate all of the time you spend working up and sharing these patterns.
Hi beautiful it’s perfect size for me! I’m shrinking with age! I love that you always say “you don’t have to use this yarn” any you have of specific yarn weight is okay to use! Sometimes even different weights! Great teaching girl!
I was just watching the godfather 3 and I was just saying I wanted to make a shawl Because his sister is always wearing them and they look so nice. And boom I saw a notification for a new shawl. Perfect timing, thank you Crystal!
Finished! :) I have made two. One for my aunt in the ombré purple. It turned out amazing even being the first one and realized several mistakes. The second one I tried a Caron cake 4 and lighter yarn made it different. The pattern is the easiest one I have tried yet. Now…I am on to the next pattern you have! :) thank you so much for posting videos. They are great! :)
i have been crocheting for approx 1 month...now i decided to try this beautiful shawl. Never did one before , find it a bit overwhelming but love the way you teach and add the 3 rows repeat in the description. Thank you Crystal!
Rewatching sharing with my daughter Thank you from the bottom of my heart = Quality time is priceless Crystal you are a wonderful teacher 🙏🏻💕🌹 Stay safe
First of all, thank you sooooo much for the Row links below. I tend to forget how to start a row even if I've done it multiple times and being able to click on the row to take me to the right place on the video is amazing! I wish more tutorials would do that! Next, I am loving, LOVING this pattern! Super easy and I am loving how it is turning out! Third, I would love this pattern for a blanket!!! How to turn at then end and how to make the pattern work as blanket. It would be a beautiful blanket and this pattern goes very quickly so the blanket would progress pretty fast. This is probably one of my favorite patterns I've done so far!
I LOVE your tutorials! I am a brown person too, and this yarn is gorgeous. Thank you for speaking slowly as you demonstrate as well as physically showing exactly where stitches are to be placed (and pausing so we can see and compare on our own pieces). Love love love the hat you are wearing. Someday i am going to own your complete library in written form. Thank you for being such a great presenter!!!
I love the shawl!!! The picots really are cool on it and like you, I love Browns, golds, and rust colors, including all the different shades of all of them. I agree the yarn makes it extra BEAUTIFUL!!!
I have a glittery off white wool mix and I’ve wanted to make a huge shawl. I’m going to try this one. I find it a tad bit intimidating but you, my friend, are easy to follow!! It’s intricate even though you say it’s simple 🤪💕
