I am screwed. I had a 75" Sony. Dead. Bought a 85" Samsung. Only 4" taller, no problem. I have a custom cut out for the mount for that perfect against the wall look. HUGE PROBLEM. Samsung places their wall mount holes off center HIGH vs Sony being dead center. Result, TV will not fit. Too low. NO ONE makes an articulating mount with vertical adjustments! This is going to cost me $1,000's to have rock replaced and new cut out performed. BTW, the changing the screws on the mount doesn't work in this case since the screws are in the upper and lower corners of the bracket. Does anyone know of a vertical adjustment mount? I need 6 or 7" up
@@barrythehatchet1380 you can make your own little extension. Fabricate a little 2" by 9" long piece for each side and use a m8 bolt and nut on it to attach to your current bracket on each side and it will extend any mount to make it work for something like that.
@@BTheInstaller Thanks. I went to Lowe's and got 14 gauge slotted bar. Test fitted, and cut to length. After cutting, I used a chisel to give a slight bend down the edge to add rigidity. @B The Installer when lowering the backplate would you be concerned with splitting the stud. I plan on using your method but the top screw to the bottom is about 4 1/2" apart. Do you think having three holes in the stud 4 1/2" apart would be ok?
For the PS5 height issue, just change it to horizontal configuration then its only about 4" high. I'm just checking to be sure, but... for the best "in room" height, wouldn't you or someone else in the house be best to sit comfortably on the sofa, and use a laser point or bubble level to work out from a straight line coming from their eye and point straight at the opposite wall for an horizontal view where the absolute dead centre cross-hair or bullseye would be the middle of the TV? And the set would be, flat against the wall ? For best contrast levels and no neck pain/strain while sitting down or slouchy? And moving the set up or down from that seating area position would serve as 'fashion over function?' Unless this is point of the video? To have what looks right by "eye" as a piece of furniture? Like when customers ask for the set above a fire place? Just to be clear this pure query and ways for me to gain formidable knowledge and experience. I was lucky and had a LG OLED C9 as my first OLED on a TV entertainment stand. That is when I noticed the LG OLED mounting points are very low on the TV. Upgraded to a LG OLED 77C1 and was able to mount the TV to account for the extra low mounting point for the perfect viewing angle when sitting on the sofa. I might have to adjust my mount if I ever upgrade to G-series OLED with normal mounting points.
Whenever possible the center of the screen should always be mounted at eye level when the viewer is sitting down doing so helps to eliminate neck fatigue problems.
I have the opposite problem. Went from an LED where the mount on the back of the TV was fairly centered to an OLED built like the TV shown here. So that means my wall plate is too HIGH. Would be nice to be able to adjust the brackets down but... not doable. I am trying my best to find a way to avoid having to lower the plate since that'd leave exposed holes I don't want to fill b/c it'd be hard to paint match.
thank you for the great video, at the back of the tv lowering the metal stick does this changes the center weight of the mount, i mean the force which the tv put against the wall mount!
If we wanted to lower a tv mount using this method, would there be any risk of using the same the holes to be the top hole that the screws may come out if too loose?

I have to raise my 75” tv exactly 2.3 inches to accommodate a new soundbar underneath. I sit about 8 and a half feet away. It’s just right for viewing comfort where it is right now. Am I gonna notice too much of a difference after raising it?
My solution was to mount the PS5! on a self-rising mount in the entertainment cabinet just like one of those fancy exhaust vents with a spring-loaded flap door on the top. Triggers with a remote simple.

Please help - mounted TV 2 inches too low. There's no wiggle room on the TV brackets so have to adjust the wall mount. The lag bolts are like 3.5 inches deep. Is there any risk to drilling the new holes just 1.5 - 2 inches above the old holes? It's a 75 inch TV so I worry it will put too much stress on the stud with the old holes so close. Should I plug the old holes with dowels first to reinforce the stud?
I have the exact same problem with my new 85 inch TV which is sitting on the highest and lowest holes on the bracket which connects to the TV. No wiggle room there. And I realized my couch headrest is obstructing 2-3 inches of TV at the bottom if I view TV anywhere behind the couch. I was thinking of purchasing an optional bracket accessory which I can connect to all 4 holes of the TV and lower the existing bracket. But I didn't find any such accessory. I dont want to drill another 2 big holes just 2inch apart from existing holes. Did you find the solution for it?
Is there a way to get tv brackets (like the ones you moved) so that I can have more options to raise them up and lower my tv? I have my tv on a fireplace but the problem is i have a niche to store my devices above fireplace, so I already have the mount as lowest it can be… but if brackets on tv give me the option for the tv to sit lower and cover the niche so devices are hidden behind tv, that would be perfect solution.
I have been watching some of your videos on how to mount a TV and they are all good. But I have questions I hope you or anyone seeing this can help me with. My wife grabbed a used TV from family who got a brand new TV. When I asked where are we putting it, I was told the master bedroom. Being that we will be laying on a bed I thought we would be able to adjust, but now just a few days away from installing it, I am having second thoughts. I bought a bunch of things for this TV. A wireless transmitter so we can use headphones, a power bridge, a google chrome cast to stream videos, a couple of 10ft HDMI cables and of course a simple tilting bracket. If we don't like it we are stuck with it so to speak. I am so confused.
Dunno if you'll see this comment but I have a question. In my home office / music studio / play area (where I play video games since my wife doesn't really care for them), I have my desk up against a wall with a rectangular, exposed brick cutout. Since I purchased a PS5, I want to buy a TV (probably a 48" LG A1 - vertical height 24") and mount it above my monitor on the drywall, and wall-mount my consoles next to it. From the top of the monitor, the drywall is about 18" up (meaning the center point of most mounts would be about 24" up) and 12" back. I feel like a standard mount would end up being about 9" too high on the wall (if perfectly centered, and the A1's VESA mounting points are low, so probably more like a foot or more). I've looked at MantelMount, but I don't really need it to come off the wall so much (and it comes out too far). I just need it to be moved vertically downward. Do you have any suggestions for good mounts that would allow the TV to be adjusted up to a foot lower (and possibly with some tilt)? I'm not interested in ceiling mounts. Thanks!
I just bought an ican full motion tv mount for a 65inch tv, for some reason, when the tv is installed and close to the wall, it slowly starts turning on its own, how do I stop it from turning when I just want it still ?

Around 23 inches from the bottom bezel of the tv to the floor. But it's also slightly different for everyone as height of a person and seating distance will vary.
The bottom of a 55 inch TV would be good at 30inches, no lower. My 75 inch TV is 25 inches at the bottom. People between 5.5 to 6 feet are comfortable.
I would've drilled new pilot holes for all 4 lag bolts for maximum strength. There was no reason to reuse the holes, and as he even said, you have to put spackle on the lower holes anyway.
If your eyes line up with the centre of the TV when sitting down , that conrect, nothing worse than having your head bent backwards when sitting down.... Best thing is to put the PlayStation somewhere else, problem solved...
@@birgerolovsson5203 You definitely still want to find the studs behind the wall and put the lag bolts in the wood studs. Those plastic plugs are meant for masonry which will expand tightly in the hole when the bolt is screwed in, and do very little for hollow walls.
I never understand why people mount their tv's low on a wall. Mine's about 180cm off the ground and it's gonna be perfect for anything from a 32 to a 55 inch one. Heck maybe even a 75inch one would fit but i don't want a tv for a wall. No, for the latter i'd think of a projector to be in use with an appropreate reciever than a tv.
The top of my knees is 60cm (almost 2 feet for Americans) and is the bottom of my 190cm (75 inch) TV is at that height on a stand. As a 183cm (6 feet for Americans) guy seated on my couch, I'm looking at the middle of that screen, sitting up straight. My 167cm (5.6 feet) wife has no issues even though the centre is slightly above her view.
@@damianhaber4890 the point i was bringing up was more like "why do most prefer a straight up position rather than a laid back position". Especially in todays world where a lot of people are hunched over their phone screens for a good portion of the day. Yeah lowering the mount to the next set of holes works well for QLED to OLED.
What is the best height to mount a 55 inch tv?....I've read 42inches from the ground to the centre of the tv....for me this looks a but low...
Dude...you're batting a bit out of your league....WAY TO GO!!!
Awesome a great thing to hear from another man.
wont putting them in the same hole reduce the strength of the mount?
I would've drilled new pilot holes for all 4 lag bolts for maximum strength. There was no reason to reuse the holes, and as he even said, you have to put spackle on the lower holes anyway.
OLED vs QLED have different mounting heights? Why?
Basically viewing angles of any LCD TVs are terrible, including qled TV's...
That’s what I was wondering too
Lot of comments on here from people who obviously didn’t get the gist of the video. Suddenly everyone else is B The Installer. Lol
It's all good. Comments are useful even if missing the point. 😆
Lay the PS5 flat...eye level while seated is best in my opinion...I have mine a little higher than eye level currently but too high causes neck strain
Silly question but wouldn’t have been easier to move move cabinet to the left & place PS5 there? So it’s a bit off center🤷🏻♂️
The point of the video was to show people how to raise or lower a tv. We could have lived with it just the way it waa.
I'm pretty sure the PlayStation was just a prop used as an example.
Just bought the 77” Sony a80j does anyone know if I should worry about burn in. I was also looking at the x95j 75”
Don't watch the same news program every day or sports/games with static images for too long, then it should be fine.
@@TheJockey1995 thank you
More interesting. Sorry for the error.
42-44 inch off ground is perfect for bedroom most tv stands are only 30-35 inch . This is my measurements I don’t have to bend my neck or anything
When I saw that PS5 wow my wall mounting is basically be like three or four inches above my Xbox
It's generally the worst mistake people make mounting TV's far to high....
too*
Why is your tv angled down? Looks like it’s low enough to not be angled down.
TV went from perfect to way too high lol.
Nice sir indiana hight majour
If your eyes line up with the centre of the TV when sitting down , that conrect, nothing worse than having your head bent backwards when sitting down....
Best thing is to put the PlayStation somewhere else, problem solved...
Didn't you forget to put a plug in the wall for the bolts?
I love plugs anyway.
We have wooden studs in wall... so it's different than stone walls
@@BTheInstaller I have chipboard so I put a plug in the hole to be safe.
@@birgerolovsson5203 You definitely still want to find the studs behind the wall and put the lag bolts in the wood studs. Those plastic plugs are meant for masonry which will expand tightly in the hole when the bolt is screwed in, and do very little for hollow walls.
Whoever designed the PS5 should be arrested.
It looks too high now and doesn’t match up with the tv stand
Your eye should be 1/3 up from the bottom of the TV when sitting down.
Ps5 flat there sorted lol
The tv or that booty😝😜
Where do you find a wife that helps carrying tvs?
My sitting height is also similar since i'm 176-177cm or inbetween 5ft 9inch and 5ft 10inch.
Is the wife a gamer too?
Just set the console flat
1. your wife is gorgeous
2. It wasn't too low to begin with it was the perfect height
3. Reconfigure the PS5 to be horizontal instead of vertical.
Its not recommend it to stand that PS 5 is better to lay it..
Why couldn’t you just lay the PlayStation down 😅
Definitely out kicked his coverage
Rodriguez Scott Clark Sharon Hernandez Jessica
r/TVTooHigh would like to have a word with you
Solution = change PS5 to horizontal position
DONE
R/tvtoohigh
Yeah for all the pros on there.... 😆
It was perfect before. Now it looks uncultured
You’re such an awesome man. I wish I had a husband like you!
