- I brought hidden cameras to Sturgis, the biggest motorcycle rally in the world, to show you what it's really like to be a woman alone at this supposedly infamous event.

That was my son and I that talked to you at the gas pumps, I think it's awesome that a young lady like yourself had the courage to ride to Sturgis by yourself, you didn't know what to expect and probably heard all these horror story's about the terrible "bikers" at Sturgis. Keep up the positive message about the biker community, we need more like you on two wheels.
Ahh it was nice meeting you guys! Stay cool when it hits over 110F!!
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle two wheels are trash, get a unicycle babe
@@Blox117 In all honesty. Those unicycles have power to them. And can keep up with traffic on most roads. I kinda want one. But they look dangerous asf
@@matt59fire hey so you're familiar nice. I can tell you that if you pick the right one, you can ride thousands of miles safely. I personally have 5k miles with ZERO incident. As long as you stay below the cutoff speed, and you picked one with a good safety record, its perfectly fine.
by all means tho, pls do get at least a starter unicycle. even the small ones can do 15-20mph and the newest are pushing above 60mph with suspension. a decent starting one is around 800-1300 dollars. let me tell you it feels like you are flying, motorcycles have nothing on these.
Riding alone is relaxing; however, an unfortunate event can leave you stranded and even injured.
As a father of a 19 year old girl I constantly look out for other people's kids that might need help. I do what I'd want other people to do for my girl and I think a lot of us are like that. I inherited a protect/nurture gene lol. Cherish the advice of old know it all dudes and understand that in our minds, we're really trying to help and be good people.
Yup. It's a Dad thing. Same with me.
Cute ❤️
Pay it forward. Salute
Mine is 31...same.
Same Same!
This was an awesome video. I'm glad to see so many guys treated you with respect. Stay safe out there!
As a 50 year old man, I don't go on long road trips alone. Other bikers are the least you have to worry about out there. Be safe, take a friend. Trips are always more meaningful when you share memories of the trip with friends.
I’ll second that!
Its preference for sure. I, too, am 50, and I prefer to be alone on longer trips. I understand the weirdos and dangers, but if you are aware and do not put yourself in backward positions, there is nothing to worry about.
If that doesn't work well, I have my secret partner, Glock 23. :)
I'm actually taking a long weekend trip next weekend (end of April 2023), and it was planned solo... BUT a friend asked about riding the the trip with me. So, guess I'll see how I feel after this trip.
I am 65, starting a 10,000 mile solo ride around the U.S. next week. I am counting on the goodness of other people, especially other bikers. Can't live your life in fear....

As a male who's part of this community, I was expecting a lot of cringe-worthy interactions in this video but I'm so glad to see that most of your experience was positive. I agree that things would have been different had you done the late-night drinking/bar thing. Love your content.
marc vega, your comment was exactly my thought. So glad she met good folks.
But no matter where you go, there's always a chance you'll meet Jeffery Dahmer.
Marc, that is exactly what I was about to post. I'm glad she had a great experience, and that motorcycling solidarity is still strong and well.
Right, a different setting when a woman goes to a place they are drinking and spending money.
Yeah....after watching so many females on tiktok just trash the "toxic" biker world...this was refreshing.
right i thought the same cause the way its titled and the way it started lol ride safe everyone
Phenomenal video throughout! So glad you enjoyed yourself and displayed such positivity 🙏🏾
Legit love that you made this video. So many influencers go in the opposite direction and would try to show the worst in people for clicks.
As a female rider, the only people who have tried to be rude/disrespectful to me have been non riders! Great to be part of the motorcycle community. Love watching your videos, keep it up! :)
Men get a 1 match in 40 on Tinder, Women get 1 in 2, there are more men on Tinder (75%) likely because approaching women that call us creeps and pervs makes guys turn away and they know it creates a pressure with women for them to say yes so if a woman swipes and you swipe there is mutual attraction. That could just by my reason, which happened to me when I approached a girl for her number she gave it to me then flaked out on three dates she agreed to, twice a nice dinner at a restaurant with live music, once where I offered to make her tacos and play guitar for her. The reason why guys watch dating coaches are in those statistics, dating coaches teach making it sexual, and women are not excited by men who are "like their brother". Respectful men don't get dates Ma'am, and they eventually just give up. You could argue that being called a creep or a perv is rude/disrespectful as well...
Oh I’m so glad you covered this topic and gave us the real scoop. As a fellow female rider I’m so inspired by you. I love that you did it solo. 😀💕
I don't love it that you went solo...I'm in Memphis and have seen first hand how many crazy people there are...its not a matter of bravery or living your life without fear. It's a matter of whether it's necessary to be alone or not. If you can ride with someone who matches your speed do it....I would understand the situation we're you are having to leave areas because your traveling partners aren't interested in the same things...I could never ride with someone who didn't want to stop for photos.
Plus 1 to this comment. I agree 100%. Thanks for sharing the truth and having fantastic journalistic integrity. 💪😃👍
Support among this community is why it's such a strong fellowship. Decisions one makes can put themselves in a bad situation, but as Americans we have many rights and FREEDOM is our favorite. Knowing the tragedy of a young Mom in Memphis keeps me worrying about all solo riders, females especially! Let no one hold you back and be sensible as well as prepared. Good luck in your rides Goddess, You are in my prayers.
Proud, but not surprised, to hear that you encountered a lot of gentlemen along the way. The strongest element of our community is mutual respect; we’re all in this together. As a long time rider, I love to see more and more female riders joining us; best thing that could happen to motorcycling!
Very few, if any, could keep up with riders on the pace … 😂
Great Video! Nice review of the rally and glad you had a great experience, you rocked it doing that ride solo for sure.
As a 66 year old biker female, married, I love this. Bikers in general are very very friendly and helpful. Love the idea of others seeing it kinda “in person “. Keep up the good work.
Cool stuff!
I am of the opinion that the 'bad' image of the motorcycling community was what keeps the majority of bad people out. 👌
Hello, 60 yr biker.
I encouraged my three girls to take the motorcycle safety course. One continued riding until she married. He had some bad ideas about riders and riding.
She sold the cycle I bought for her, to kleep peace and harmony.
Bad stories about motorcycles and operator's spoil a good sport.
You have to make a visit to Iron Lake road and lake. In the fall it is beautiful.
A scene in Dances with Wolves was shot there. Also off Spearfish Canyon road is Rough Lock Falls, a nice walk-about and picture area.
I hope you rode the long view of the Bad Lands? Most people do the short ride, too bad.
There is another ride down Vanoker(sp) Canyon road too. It is a blast on a good bike that handles twisties. At the end of it you have two choices, take either one and have fun. Start over and do them both, I did.😮😊

Riding a motorcycle on the road is transport. Not sport. Bro thinks he’s a 60 year old motogp rider
My wife is 57, a Grandmother, and rides a 2009 Ultra. She's got stories for days, most of them good. People just say things without thinking when they see others doing something that doesn't fit the mold.
People will come in to her work and ask her if that's her Harley outside. They're saying it as a joke and are shocked to find out it is her bike.
My Grandson loves taking rides on his Grandmas Harley. I'm sure those are memories that will create positive views of motorcycles and women.
Hey, Doodle!
Greetings from Minnesota!
First time watching.
I dig your vibe!
🤙🏽
Lmao you using All Gas No Brake footage was great. I just started watching him recently and love his content, And yours! I've never ventured into a bike motorcycle rally but hope to this year if my anxiety lets me. It's really great to see you tackle it by yourself and handle it so well. Thanks for the inspiration.
the "shes a fXXXing gangster" comment would have made my day, LOL! thanks so much for making this video, its really valuable to be able to see this from your perspective. i was really pleasantly surprised by my own experience getting into motorcycling and how friendly (at atleast, chilled out) everyone was, but I've never been to any community events like this- I dont think anything NEARLY of this scale even exists in australia! Watchin this makes me feel alot more comfortable with the idea of going to events though, and trying to get more involved the community as a whole 😊
I don’t think anyones ever called me a gangster 😅 I’ll take it
Staying away from bars and not staying out late at night are pretty good rules to follow. You’re not missing much. Stay safe!
Hello from Australia! I just found your channel and am enjoying it. I've always wanted to go to Sturgis and this video makes me want to go even more. I'm a sports bike rider, have ridden with people on all makes of bikes and have never had any problems, even when by myself. Keep getting that positive message out there! Have fun and keep it rubber side down! :)
So good to see a positive video about interactions. As a fellow female biker (all be it older and wider). It's reassuring to see the wonderful community we are all part of show themselves at their best. Ride safe.
I've been to sturgis 4 times and not once have I ever been worried about my safety or the safety of the female riders with us. Even at the bars bumping into to people. Just good times!!! Great video!! Thanks for sharing that side of Sturgis for those who are worried about their safety.
Mad respect Doodle! As a father and long time rider myself I am not surprised at the real life interactions versus the online ones. The internet is full of toxicity and knows no bounds. Thank you for focusing on the positive.... Stay blessed! 🙏🏼🤘🏽
Thanks for the positive, balanced commentary.
One thing that I expected to see was footage from the glasses inside your helmet. I use my camera glasses for that all the time, and the audio they capture is good as well. I even got footage recently of me coming off my DRZ400E in the mud!
I also often use the glasses to film myself filming. It means that I already have the subject's consent, and it's more about creating fun footage of the process.
Thanks again for your U-turn video. The practise that I've been doing since then has massively increased my confidence.
This is such a breath of fresh air! As a father of a 8 year old active and brave girl, I hope this is the type of thing she encounters mostly in her adult life. Cheers, have fun and be safe!
I’m really glad this video turned out not to show abusive behaviour towards you but instead to show most people are decent and respectful. I’m glad you generally were treated very well
I have been an avid rider for 21 years now, I can say 98% of the riders I have encountered are responsible, respectful, resourceful riders 👍
The old AMA saying “99% of motorcycle riders are law abiding citizens”. Though, this led to motorcycle gangs embracing the “1%er” mantra, and outlaw motorcycle gangs wearing the “1%er” patch. Those are the guys she was lucky to avoid. No encounters with hells angels, mongols, sons of silence, pagans, outlaws, or highwaymen is always a recipe for success at any biker run.
New subscriber here....this is the first video i watched from you...
Awesome that you made that trip to Sturgis alone....glad everyone seemed respectful of you..
Ride Safe....Steve from Illinois.
It’s great you’re showing the world how down to earth bikers really are. Helping reverse decades of negative stigma and downright fear mongering by the media who focus on a select few isolated cases and try and make them the norm. Keep riding and making those videos. Take care
Great video Doodle! One of my all time favorite quotes by John A Shedd, "A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." Way to get out there and live your adventure!
I don't watch Doodle often enough but do love each one I do see. Last night I watched Dark Side from Feb, 2021 and now this one. Doodle does use common sense to hopefully avoid bad people and situations which really is all we can do. Truth is that especially women do get attacked through no fault of their own by criminals turned loose on us. Murdered while jogging at 4 am in safe area, beat up/murdered in their appt. bldg., thrown in front of trains, sucker punched from behind and much more. Hopefully criminals will soon be locked up as they should be so we can be safe again. Try to be safe, keep head on a swivel and enjoy life Doodle.
I have been riding for 45 years and have always believed that we needed more women riders. I am proud of you and what you have accomplished. I hope riders like you encourage others to ride.
I believe you, you have been riding cawk for 45 years.
They ride on the back.
@@egilskallagrimsson2941 I’d be willing to bet you, ride in the back 😂
I just realized that you used my comment for the video 😂 I was deeply disturbed by it when I read my messages that day. I’m so happy to see that isn’t always the case with other riders. Great video, Doodle! ❤
Just found your video and thanks for sharing. This shows that Sturgis is what you want it to be based on your choices. I have been a few times and enjoyed it. Stay safe and enjoy your rides! Rosko
This was refreshing to see as a 60 yo dad with a college age daughter who is getting into riding. I worry constantly. You used common sense with your attire, staying out of bars and overall awareness. Great job!
Way to go! Glad you had a good time and showed the world reality when so much media focuses on frothing up emotions like fear. Bless you. Glad it went well.
Just discovered your channel by accident and enjoyed watching it for the first time. Proud of you for what you're doing young lady. Stay safe and keep on keeping on. Btw. I guess I'm what you could call technology challenged with all these crazy electronic gadgets. Never seen or heard of a 360° camera before.
So happy to hear that you had positive experiences. Thanks for reporting about them.
I’ve been a biker for many decades and our community is all about respect, sure there’s bad apples in any group but it bothers me how many assume we are nothing but thugs , glad you showed the truth of our community, be safe out there rode it like you stole it
I was an orphan for awhile. Guess who came over every chance they had? Bikers!!!! I remember these men and women coming over with food, toys and sat around our bone fire. It’s the cops, the staff and caseworker’s who hurt us, or abused us. Not the big bad bikers

Nearly everyone is so nice. I’m glad you had a really good time. I thought by the title that something bad was gonna happen to you, so glad it didn’t, and that you are okay. so nice to see you and everyone enjoying your bikes, each other and riding of course ❤
I started riding when I was 21, now 32, and I’ve done a LOT of riding solo- even rode my Honda Shadow around the country for 2 months on a solo road trip. I had similar experiences as you- there are way less creepers and disrespect than you might expect. People can be surprisingly helpful and kind. Usually the older guys view you kind of as a daughter.
Also, me and 3 of my girl friends rode to Daytona Bike Week and there weren’t really any creepers or disrespect. It was a lot of fun.
Even us old gnarly rough around the edges bikers respect other bikers. You are correct in say "like daughters", you are, we are one big family. Us older fella's suffer from big brother syndrome.
If the Honda Shadow was a 700 the the ride was enjoyable.
I owned one before I switched to BMW'S.
Thank you for your content. Glad to see you ride and enjoy the experience. Take care and safe travels!
Thank you for this! How you were treated & what you experienced is exactly how I experienced my trips to Sturgis the last 2 yrs. This is a great video to share with my family who worry about me. It’s always good to be extra cautious & not have to use it. Thank you again! The motorcycle family is truly that, family ❤
so good to see. the bike community is a good family, something i noticed when i started riding a couple of years ago. glad you were treated with respect - restores my faith in human race.
Fist vid I caught from you, glad you are having a blast! Stay safe ride on!
This was so wholesome. I'm sure there is a lot of that which makes it infamous online that does go on but I'd venture to guess it's few and far between, it only gets notoriety because it's so egregious. Glad to see you had a good time! I need to get up there sometime but I'll probably go with a buddy not as brave as you :P
Am glad you shared this perspective of Sturgis. I have been curious about your personal experience as a solo female rider visting the event. It is nice and a relief see that there are good people out there to counter the dodgy/sketch individuals. This was a great episode, Carolyn! Appreciate your work on this.
I love how you are so positive and upbeat. I have been riding Hondas since 1977 and have never been to Sturgis. Glad to hear you are treated nicely with respect. I hope all of your experiences are good and safe. Thanks for being a good person in a world where there is so much that could go bad. Enjoy!
I love your videos and your kind spirit. Ride safe 🤙
Honestly thought this was going to be a victim like video how the person will say how bad everyone is and to feel sorry for them but instead this video was really light hearted and a great watch.
you thought that and still decided to watch
As a 42 year male rider, I am glad your experience was what you expected. When I was 17 and later when I stopped in a beverage house - The riders I encountered were just as you have found. I was treated like family. Hence I took that as an attitude, and followed being helpful when I could. Safe Travels!
As a male solo rider I'm going to have to say I am happy to hear that most of your interactions are positive ones. The topic of female (especially solo) riders safety is very important to openly discuss. I followed your channel as well as many other female rider channels for some time and find this topic brought up often. It's not about "This day and age" lines as popular females are often subject to much more negative attention than males. Although this was and still is more of a pronounced problem for movie stars and music entertainers, it has become increasingly more of a problem since social media has made becoming "famous" much easier. WIth hundreds of millions of social media users, this opens up the possibility of the trashy people having access to you and others like you. I agree with @hertwowheels and how she doesn't post her riding schedule nor does she check in live along her routes. Although I would love to see live videos of the trips that are taken, I agree and support the decision to be cautious and take personal safety first. Uploading videos after you are safely to your destination or back home is perfectly acceptable to protect yourselves from those that would do you harm (physically or emotionally). Part of social media is the keyboard warriors that make the nasty comments and unfortunately there isn't much that can be done to prevent this. I do hope to catch up to you and the many other UA-cam riders one day but rest assured I'll be one of the ones not invading your personal space nor being disrespectful in any way, Until then, ride safe and enjoy this beautiful country and all the aspects of riding that make it so enjoyable.

Genius! I love the content in this video. As a single father of three, (2) boys and (1) fourteen year old young lady who believes she's going on 35, I'm a huge proponent of educating our young women.
I want my daughter to be confident in everything she does but this starts with educating yourself (ourselves). Especially as a female rider. Clearly you have done your research.

This is the second time I came across this video. Both times it ended, I felt good about it! I love your content.
Thank You for setting the record straight. There is quite a lot of variety of riders but they seem to respect others who can put the miles down.
I am glad you got to be you and had a great time. Thanks for the video expose. I can tell you, my family used to think bad things about my wife and I traveling to rallies and such, but our experiences were pretty much like yours. Everyone was pretty much about the experience and the company. Keep the shiny side up and enjoy the open road
As a fellow rider I’ve never had anything but total fun and respect. Did Sturgis a few years ago and ended up tagging along with some badass guys and rode the Pigtail - they couldn’t keep up on the corners it was awesome. Even got the tattoo to match, can’t wait to go back.

Very cool video, So happy to see everyone on the trip were cool and respectful.
Gives me faith that we still have some decent folks out there that treat one another with respect and kindness.👍
Good Video !! I happy there are still good people out there in this crazy world. I stopped riding a couple years ago as there are just too many distracted people out there rolling around in their vehicles. STAY SAFE!!
Super awesome vid, Doddle! And awesome to see that bikers are still just normal people like all of us! There are definitely the weird outliers, but still. Glad you had a great trip, and as always, Ride safe!
You captured it perfectly, nothing but respect for everyone. My wife rides an Ultra Classic and we sometimes separate while at Sturgis and she gets the EXACT same treatment. The media only looks for the worst possible scenarios. We have GPS tracking enabled but it only encase either one of us was to wreck and end up in the hospital or down an embankment somewhere. Plus a friend back home will also be able to monitor us too. Other than injury no worries at all.
As a parent and human being, it warms my heart to see what I expected, generally civil, supportive and “sometimes a bit rough around the edges” but decent people. Great video and more power to you.
Love this!!! Most guys really are just looking out! Keep up the great videos and content!

Hey! Thanks for doing this video. The biker community is super diverse but one thing they usually have in common is respect and yes, checking on a biker who's pulled over! Glad you had a good time at Sturgis. Really enjoy your content.
I just randomly came across your video and noticed at about 8:23 you're in my hometown of Torrington, WY at the Cenex. Crazy. Awesome video by the way!
Thank you, for keeping it real ; )
I absolutely love how you just dismantled the negative stereotyping we in the motorcycle community get. Our community is one of a handful where nothing else matters other than our common interest of being on two (or three) wheels and respect is paid without thought.
Right I got my daughter a bike at 16yr cause to be honest it nothing like what people think it is we have respect for everyone out there. Most biker just want to be able to be free that what I hope my kids get to achieve. Every time I hear my daughter harley fire up it make me smile knowing I gave her that freedom that only comes from riding.
So glad you had a good experience going to Sturgis!! As a 40 yr rider I have always had great encounters with about 90% of bikers!! I give you a thumbs up for being able to do this....I hope you have many more trips and good fortune!! Ride on little sister and be safe!!!
Great video. I saw you on Biker Babe Beth's channel. Have a great weekend.
That’s awesome! Good to see this video! Respect to you any every mutually respectful biker you crossed paths with.
That's so great, honestly. It gives me faith in humanity. The riding community really is typically awesome.
Interesting to watch this. Good to have you address these issues. Personally, I'm so impressed that you are riding the big bikes that well. And building relationships with other women riders like Meg, Jess other female UA-camrs. Meeting you and getting photos with Meg, Mike and you at the Harley tent was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Looking forward to watching more of your adventures which encourages me to get out and ride.
Very cool to see and glad your experience on your motorcycle in my home state was a good one. I'm a rider myself and been out to Sturgis and western side of South Dakota many times. Beautiful views!
Thanks for visiting, come again! Glad you had a great experience. I moved from WA to SD almost 40yrs ago. Never looked back, love the people, culture and country.
Spent my whole life encouraging the women around me to have a go and do their best, and you are doing it, good on you.
Sitting in my truck ,door open with chickens and cows yelling wondering why I’m not getting out to feed them … I had to see if you are ok.
Farming channels are at their homes and young ladies have had some issues and had to take precautions.
You have been very wise in your interactions with the public and what you show.
So relieved and anyone on a motorcycle I’ve seen has been showered with respect , offers of assistance, and camaraderie.
From riders and non riders .
It doesn’t hurt to pack some heat though for rabid critters and other issues.
I appreciate this video as I’m considering going to Sturgis next year.
Sturgis is completely what you make of it. Alot of the questionable behavior most people think of happens at the campground I have heard. I started riding May 2020 with my husband on my own HD Freewheeler. Sturgis was my first long distance trip and it was amazing. After riding through 22 states and 35,000 mile, I can say that this has been my experience as well. You will meet many interesting people. And people will just start talking to you about when they used to ride. My husband can't get over how much attention I get while we ride. I hope I have been as much of an inspiration to other women (and men) as you are being on UA-cam. Keep the rubber down and shiny side up!
Great job on an honest look at a legendary ride. 👏
This was a good video. Encouraging and acknowledging the many different types of people out the, rather stereotypes. Yeah, there’s some shady ones around, but nice ones too. Thanks for your content!
I love this video because here we are not experiencing fake news media. This here shows us all the truth and how much love and respect there is. For those lost in the sauce, this is what America really looks like! Much love, respect and prayers up to everyone 🙏 ❤️ this was great 👌🏾👌🏾
My first was in 2013. Thank you for sharing your footage and experience, i really enjoyed seeing it again!
Glad you had fun at Sturgis. That bike event has been on my bucket list for a long time.
It's really nice to see how you were treated. Loved the video.
I’m a newer rider and I love watching your content. The thing about keyboard warriors is they would never say that stuff to your face. Apparently some people have nothing better to do than be creepy. Keep being you and stay safe!
What a great trip! Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you for showing what bikers are really like. I'm pretty sure 99% of us would be more inclined to help another biker (male or female) than do them any harm. Very cool video and very brave of you to not just believe the stereotypes but go and find out for yourself!!!
I love that you made this video. People love telling us ladies how dangerous it is riding solo and it’s really hard not to internalize that sometimes. I personally haven’t had any scary situations though so it’s nice to see a video like this validating the good and not the bad. Thanks as always!
I was raised by a Georgia southern belle and taught to be a southern gentleman. It is something I take pride in and will happily do till I die. So if we ever cross paths you will get respect and kindness. Great video , thanks for sharing.
How we all should be raised 👍
Love this video! I’m also a non stereotypical Harley rider who just loves motorcycles and hanging out with people who like to ride. Although I know there is a minority out there who give the rest a bad name, I just try to cut through all the bulls#!t and enjoy myself for what it is. This video is an inspiration to all those who might not think they ‘fit in’. At the end of the day, the vast majority of us are just regular people who just enjoy motorcycles. Stay safe! 😊
Thanks for this! I was worried about a friend who might be going. Happy and comfortable knowing you and she should be safe! Hopefully one day for me. Safe continued travels. !
You earned that respect by being yourself and not catering to others. You are awesome. I'd tell you not only were you treated properly but if anyone would have messed with you those other people would've had your back and defended and protected you. Keep it up, great video and your parents, family and friends should be proud of you, I know I am.
Being herself, exactly, right, stay safe people, look after each other in this increasingly difficult world, stay real 👍👍😎
