Such an incredible performance! The guitar solos.....SUBLIME and the TALENT! This never gets tired. It's a joy to watch every single time. The great joy and pleasure they all get playing together is palpable.
When you got talent-you don't need dancers, you don't need fancy laser shows or stage props. You just get up there and sing. No one can sing like Roy Orbison. I see Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, JD Souther, Jackson Brown, Chet Atkins on guitar on the stage with him. And everyone up there knows they wish they could sing like Roy Orbison. They wouldn't play backup to anyone else.
Not Chet Atkins -- it's James Burton who was Elvis Presley's lead guitarist in the TCB (Elvis's band) -- a spectacularly talented guitarist. And you're right about singing like Orbison. Roy had an operatic voice that spanned octaves. Right up until the day he died. Plus they wish they could write songs like Orbison. Roy was more prolific as a song writer than he was as a performer as hard as that may be to conceive given his performances.

Loved the way the Master gave Bruce Springsteen the nod after James Burton (Elvis Presleys Guitarist) to d do his lead bit, Elvis Costello strumming away
James Burton - the master of the guitar. I saw him live in 1972 with Elvis - Hilton - Las Vegas. The best concert ever! Bruce seems to do a lot of facial expressions and kicking with no output. Can not compare Bruce to James Burton. Thanks! for your video.
James Burton rips out the licks effortlessly. While Springsteen puts on a good show with his body and he can jam with them, it is Burton who really puts on a guitar show. It's with grace that Springsteen lifts up his empty hands to Burton at the end of the jamming and acknowledges just how good Burton is.
I had this DVD, I remember in the credits Bruce Springsteen saying something like, "I'm singing with Roy Orbison and playing guitar with James Burton, this is a dream come true!" class act
Much to his credit, Springsteen lifts his hands with grace at the end of the dueling guitars in acknowledgement of Burton's effortless virtuoso performance. There's a reason Burton was Elvis's lead guitarist with the TCB for so many years.
This "Oh Pretty Woman" has had me in tears.....an incredible talent array, (some of Elvis'TCB Band included) with the one and only Roy..... and a jam for the ages.....wow. I never saw this until 2005 when a dear friend sent me "B & W Night" on videotape...and the entire concert and this especially, mesmerized me.
I love watching Roy watching James Burton and the Boss trading licks. He's having the time of his life. If I could have one spin in a time machine, just one, I think I'd want to use it to attend this gig.
Exactly, James Burton is such a brilliant guitarist, can you imagine being on stage with Roy, Bruce, Elvis and KD plus Glen Hardin on keyboards, I think a lot of the band were Elvis Presley’s band! I’m envious I wish I could have been there😂😂👏👏👏👏👏👏😘🇬🇧
Karinsland in Hamburg "Pretty Woman" is particularly cozy and exciting with the great guitar solos by Roy Orbison, James Burton, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello and J.D. Souther: They play fascinating and moving. A sensational live concert, the musical performance is moving!
Is that Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen singing backup to Roy Orbison at 1:16?? Please say it is so!! It must have been amazing for Bruce, knowing how much he admired Roy
Yup. Springsteen, kd lang, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne ... it's a great lineup to show how much influence Roy Orbison had on music.
Anécdota The Boss contó que cuando el entró por primera vez al estudio de grabación quiso cantar como Roy ,pero se dio cuenta que Big O es único , que nadie puede cantar como él
James Burton. Absolute legend. May you live a hundred years.
Roy just simply sends you into another world. His world ❤

I noticed Tom Waits on the organ. There are more stars playing during this show than any other I have seen.

Roy Orbison, the best ever! My wife and I saw him in concert twice in Phoenix. He stepped onto the stage and simply blew us away. Thank you, Roy -RIP.

This battle between Burton and Springsteen is almost a guitar "Devil Went Down to Georgia." Hand it over Bruce!

This version won Roy Orbison a Grammy Award for "Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male" for 1990.
Superb, just try to emulate the man every day...no match to the big "0 " man👍
Did love crying over you with k.d. lang...angelic! Cried too...big softie X to all.
And they are all having a good time. Musicians! gotta love 'em.
Roy gave us so much and lost more than any other performer. A kind gentle soul.
Roy,inesquecível. Sempre estará em minha memória.

Those guys were having to much fun...talent all over the place....Roy was the man!!!

P.s. I first saw Roy live back in 1963 over here in the UK with a broken ankle!😘
His voice will last centuries and even then he will be known as perfect!

Sad to say Never. 😥

Not in my lifetime..
Adoro essa música.... dá vontade de dançar...alegremente
I’ve always loved how James Burton calmly destroys Bruce Springsteen but they all smile and have a great time. Fun music for sure.
