Podcast Episode #50 - Handling Common Objections. Today, Tom, Steve, and Derek break down one of the most common sales objections.
Whether it's a residential client or a GC subbing work out to you, everybody wants you at their price, so how do you avoid caving and get it at your price?
Derek = Role play master
To be honest, from a client's perspective, none of the answers given sound satisfying, and that's simply because there's no need to defend your pricing in the first place. We all have a sense of what's important to us and how much we're willing to pay for something, so the person who can and wants to buy a Lamborghini doesn't go to the Lamborghini dealership and asks the staff why Lamborghinis cost so much. In short, if people want to pay too little, they already made that decision, so just say thanks for the opportunity and walk away. Your job is to present your value clearly in your marketing, and if you communicate that properly, people will already expect your prices to be higher before they even contact you. Be assured there will always be those willing to pay for your services. It may not be the majority, but the majority doesn't drive Lamborghinis either. So, if that's the segment you decided to be in, stay true to it, otherwise perhaps try charging a bit less and focus more on doing more jobs in number which also works... this is why you see way more Hondas and Toyotas on the road compared to Lambos, but either way, never attempt to defend your price, you'll never change their mind and it sounds pathetic like we heard here.
Just took a $50k shower/kitchen counters/backsplash/laundry room uppers from another contractor. They were apprehensive about my price because it was $69k, and I was just like… well, let me know. Followed up like 3 days later and picked up a deposit today.
Found you guys from a comment on Reddit. Boy am I glad I did. Keep doing Gods work out here 🙏🏼 Appreciate y’all taking the time to talk about this.

Thanks for the content. I love to see more on this, I wasn’t really happy with any of the answers given why you are three times more expensive than anyone else. This is the boat I’m in every day.
Did you figure it out? You can always flip it back , 'why do you think we are 3x more expensive' then they make the sale for you
what's wrong with 'why do you think they cost less?'
@@seattleprowash5464 .. their response has been ..”I don’t know” I don’t mind flipping it back to them… doesn’t always work though…
The shut your mouth suggestion is priceless
