I find it funny how Hackett wasn’t part of the band until 1971, but played The Knife with Genesis, and pulled it out on his Genesis Revisited tour! I kinda wish he would’ve surprise played it this year since after all the album is officially 50 years old. However I can’t complain. He’s put on a good show despite the disease! Speaking of albums he wasn’t on originally, I would love to see what Hackett would do with material from ATTWT and Duke. I also know he has said he loved ‘Mama’.

Mama was avantgard for pop rock, and a new confirmation for collins with his band after face value success. Nothing that hackett could make or reply alone by himself
I'd love to see the band do more Trespass stuff. Stagnation and White Mountain especially please! This is a killer Knife, though I suspect Nad would feel free to let rip with it a bit more nowadays.
I don't want to be an A-hole, but who in the hell is the guy at the mixer? He's got Steve's guitar too low and he has the flute overpowering Steve's soaring guitar solo. I'll take the job mixing for Steve! I know just how it's supposed to sound. Ok. I'm through venting now. Sorry Guys. I love the Anthony Philips original, but Steve just takes it to another level! Genesis and Steve forever! Cheers!
@Robert Leonard I wouldn't say it's boring but that's the thing with genesis/members they make something and then as they go along they improve it and its gets better and better I like Steve's and Anthony's version but we never got to hear ant play it live
The knife was always a great song with so much dramatic and groove, and it is still so great🤩
