Nice! If the gear ever completely strips out, I know the part can be ordered through a third party 3D printing service. The build quality on these units is far superior to anything today.
Man, seeing this thing takes me back. I always remember as a little kid going over and standing on a bucket and hit the 2 buttons to run my sears lol. Also any idea what's different from this and the 663901?
Hello! sorry for the late reply! Unfortunately these machines are so old that you cannot set up a universal remote to my knowledge. Your best bet to keep this old machine going is to find an aftermarket remote kit, I know genie offers a kit and I know chamberlain offered one, I know the model for the chamberlain one is 955D but I don't think it's made anymore
You are correct on this opener there is no "learn" button. On this machine the remotes use the wall control as the receiver for the remotes. Assuming your machine still has the original wall button (it should have two buttons with red lights and say "safety control"). If it still has that control and you take it off the wall there will be 9 dip switches behind the wall control. I will warn you though It is hard to find original remotes for this opener and I don't believe universal remotes can be programed because of its age. You might have to buy an after market receiver and remote kit to work with this operator. If you have anymore questions let me know!
I;d say these were the days garage door openers were metel gears/ best made.
Love the "Woody" design for the cover! Looks to be in good shape. Nice retro fit BTW 👍🏼.
That’s why I love this machine! Hoping to get original remotes soon!
@@vemcomachines9634 I'll keep my eye out for ya!
@@garagedoorgenius I told my company that, their keeping an eye out as well!
That opener is so quiet! I love these Pretty awesome find!

That’s great to know!! I just wish I had the original rail as I don’t like the chain popping, it ruins the sound of the machine
I didn't know someone made versions of those
@@vemcomachines9634 I guess you could see if there's a three piece rail on eBay or Facebook market place
@@andersongaragedoorservicesllc It’s more a problem with the chain as it’s not even a sears brand, if I had the correct chain it would be better
@@vemcomachines9634 oops, my bad
just scored on a 139.646553 NIB just wondering to get a rail for it working

I believe the 663901 did not have the option to connect sensors or the open door indicator, it just had the two terminals for the push button
Hi, I have the same opener but lost the remotes. How do I setup a universal on, and which one? Need help! Thanks

Runs great good job 👍🏻
How do you pair your remote with this unit? Theres no "learn" button on it.
