Iv’e been looking for content on these slides but there isn’t much out there. Thank you for doing this review.
You're welcome!! I was hoping there might be people wanting to see more on these slides and barrel combos so that's great to hear
Great vid. Been looking for a review of this slide and porting.
Thank you!
Sorry for the reupload. First video made a 4:35 long video into a 15 minute video...
Ever shot a p365 in 380? If so, how does recoil compare?
Good stuff. Been pondering on whether to get a Shadow Systems DR920p or do the ported xxl setup. Decisions…decisions.
definitely a significant size difference there
Seeing how well this shoots is definitely making me want to get this setup on my carry gun, the base comp on the macro is nice but I still want it even flatter shooting
i’m picking up the new Wilson combat grip too. it might be worthy the $70 but i’ll report back!
@@TheKoreanMarksman I’ve been looking into that as well, looking forward to a review for it!
It says on their site to use 124 grain ammo. Have you tried 115? Any issues?
115 ran just fine!
Thanks for the info bro!
Any time man!
I like the macro x for its shorter barrel and due to better concealing. Would an xxl slide make a big difference?
It didn't change conceal carry for me really much at all. Especially if you run a light on it
have the same set up but with a red dot. Have you bought a DPM kit yet? just ordered one and curious what springs your using.
i don’t have it yet! i’d love to hear your thoughts on whether it’s worth it
Did you have an issue with the finish? I did. I oiled it ran it oiled the hell out of it amd my blue barrel is almost bare steal now.
I didn't have any finish issues. However, my barrel was a stainless steel finish
Any holster fitment issues? I have this same setup and it is extremely tight in my trex arms holster even with screws extremely loose
As long as length is good, it's totally fine. I recommend getting an open mouth threaded barrel for sig p365xl holster
I’m looking to get this exact set up. Just wondering if you had to do any tuning to get 115 grain to run reliably
No actually! No tuning needed but it might soften the recoil impulse more
Thanks for the video.
Have you had any issues with the 2.0 model? Right after I ordered mine, I found a lot of hate on reddit for these slides. This is within the last ~12 months after the split between FDEZ and ShaloTek. Most of the complaints have been customer service related, but some are product issues.
Oh interesting I didn't know about the company split. I never had any issues. I sold the upper about a month ago.
I also have never had good experience with fdez werks customer service though
So does it come from the factory with the ports and comp in the slide or do you need to ordwr them seperate from Fdez?
You’ve got to get the barrel and slide from fdez
How did you order the holster being the slide is longer?
I got it for a threaded barrel p365xl
Exactly what holster is that from Tier 1 and what options did you select to be able to fit inside correctly?
the axis elite with sig p365xl with threaded barrel and tlr 7 sub
This softer shooting then standard thread on comps you’ve tried with the p365?
Not too terribly noticeably actually
Does your trigger have reduced travel ?
No sir
What color is the slide?? Black or sniper gray?
the black QPQ coating
Did you have issues with dropping your barrel into the slide? Because I am and idk what to do
It definitely feels like it has to be at the right angle to go in
So I have a similar build and I just installed it; macro grip module with the fdez 2.0 slide, I'm running into issues when the slide is cocked back I can't press down on the catch slide lever to release the slide, I have to always pull back the slide a little for it to release. I don't understand what's causing the issue and ive checked the fcu to make sure everything was in alignment and put it in right and even tried different catch and take down levers and. still have the same issue ? any suggestions would greatly help ty!
Is it on a full mag or only on an empty mag?
@@TheKoreanMarksman Both and even without the mag as well
@@TheKoreanMarksmanI’ve come to the conclusion that I just need to break in the gun. The macro grip module is brand new along with the fdez xxl slide and barrel. The catch and take down lever is also new and haven’t put any rounds in it at all; everything’s real tight. I appreciate you responding btw and enjoy your channel🤘🏽
any noticeable difference between this and the comp'd sig slide?
Mostly when doing faster strings of 3+ rounds rapidly
What recoil spring are you using?
Stock!
what grip module is that
The stock one however, I recommend the Wilson Combat Xmacro module now
Only 25 yards?
That’s good enough for self defense
Especially with a pistol imo
Nope. Period.
1st issue. See the rule of threes. 3 yards, 3 rnds, 3s. Within close range, retention shot might be needed. But metal debris from ports can spike into your skins
2nd issue. Slower HST fails to expand fully. That would be less issue for full sizes barrel giving higher velocity. But a combination of a relatively short barrel (3~3.7"), porting, and JHP could increase chance of failing to expand enough
Porting on CCW? For sake of having fun in range or competition, yes. For sake of self defense, no
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I recommend you carry accordingly.
btw algorithm showed me your channel 2 days ago. Good contents. Keep up the good work!
Thanks brother! Glad you stopped by man@@stonebat
i have various clips running his exact build on my channel but with a mischief machine commander macro sized grip. I'm not taking any digs at you my man but the whole rule of 3's being used to evaluate a carry gun is so antiquated by todays standards. multiple notable 2A creators in the 2A space have commented and sided against this practice. If your fundamentals are sound ( his are, judging from his videos), then why wouldn't you take every unfair advantage you can get when it comes to defending your life? why handicap your self lol. The bad guy already has the jump on you from the start so why not take every advantage you can get? Also the velocity dilemma about ported guns having slower velocity has been soundly debunked a plethora of times already. The change in velocity on ported guns are negligible so stop echoing bad information. As always you are entitled to your own opinion!
Ok I’m more open to the porting. In fact just sent mine for hellcat pro hybrid port by patriot cnc :)
