The glock48 was the first pistol I ever bought and after buying many more pistols I still find the g48 to be possibly the best beginner “do-all” hand gun. It’s perfect for concealment, home defense and makes a good range toy.
Same here. I only have the g48. The only malfunction i've had was on the last round of the psa dagger micro mag quickdump. I'm convinced I need a 19 mos tho.
@@Fractal_blip I’ve thought about it as well but I recently got an M&P metal instead and i absolutely love it and recommend an M&P. I think my next purchase is going to be some type of 2011 or I might trade in my beretta 92FS for one of the 92X models. To many options to chose from!! lol
Yes it is still relevant, I carry a 26 MOS and I know the people say the 26 isn't relevant because it isn't slim line, doesn't matter, a good quality reliable gun is relevant if it works for you. and DKmags is a great store, don't live to far from there .
I have a gen 5 26 I also found a g48 non mos for very cheap I felt the need to have both because I’m very slim. I do wear large shirts to hide my weapon but I do find that with my g26 it looks like a shelf is on my waist that’s where the g48 comes in
26 was my first edc (carrying since2015) and still my favorite, even with the slimline craze. I hate the slim line guns. Double stacks are way easier to draw and shoot. Short grip of the 26 or with a 12 round mag makes it super easy to conceal.
Gotta support a fellow Twin Citian! Great channel and I’ll definitely be using that 2.5 percent discount at DK Mags. My current EDC is the G48 MOS. It beat out the X Macro, G26 MOS and 365XL. For me, with the S15 mags (flawless at 1200 rounds thus far), it’s the perfect setup.
My 48 is my EDC. I have it set up with the same PSA 15 round mags, along with goon tape around the grip, and a Johnny Glock OEM modified/improved trigger shoe. I'll eventually swap the sights out for Ameriglo Spartans, but for now the stockers are fine. They're accurate, and I shoot the gun very well. I'm super happy with it. I carried the Canik MC9 for a half a year (great gun), but ended up going back to my 48. I just like it THAT much.
I recently realized these pistols are great for porting. I'd port this instead of a 43x. The 43x could take a compensator since it already has a shorter slide.
I felt uncomfortable in modifying the grip. My solution was to use the PSA Micro Dagger frame and talon grips. I used all of my OEM, Shield Arms, and Glock store parts. For me the the undercut makes the most impact on adding a vise grip to the firearm. The special sauce for reliability of the shield arm magazines is use the premium magazine catch!
With the PSA mag, it helps to dissemble it and file any flash on the inside of it. Mine was causing stovepipes until I cleaned it up and it now works fine. I still carry oem mags, but use that as a backup or range mag
Installing a Glock trigger is very easy. I put the pyramid trigger into my g48 only about 3 months after getting into firearms and I was able to do it in under an hour myself.
I have a G48 and if I could carry it legally here in CA, I'd probably carry it instead of my G17 (soon to be G47) for daily carry (along with some Micro Dagger mags).
New here , what sights are you running ? I love my G48 , wish I had the rail and it was set up for an optic. I just saw you answered my question, I think. Watching lol good info on your video. I’m add a hogue grip to mine . Can you recommend a good IWB holster. I running factory 10 round , I would like to add more capacity. Ty mark
Honest question, I have a Glock 48 , I run it with the shield arms 15 rd mag. However I’m having some feeding issues with it, obviously I attribute that to SA mag and don’t think it’s the newest gen. Anyways, I use it as my EDC but really really like the P365 X Macro. Also, it takes 17 and I would imagine runs more reliably. Both are pretty much the same width, the macro is just a little taller. Does anyone have experience with both these guns and which is overall better?
@@dannydimes3350 just made a custom macro video! It’s a tough comparison because they definitely come with different pros and cons. It sounds like the xmacro might better suit you based on the priorities/context you expressed tho
Without even watching, the answer is yes, its relevant... lol Its just a 43x (which is a very popular carry gun) with a longer barrel. With that being said, i carry a Glock 19 for the extra capacity without aftermarket mags. (I do own a g48) Edit: Just finished the video. Glad we agree. 👍
I have both and there is definitely a noticeable difference. I usually carry my 19 but the 48 is great too and significantly easier to carry. I carry and shoot the 19 far more than any other gun but the size difference between the two feels like a lot to me
IMO The Glock 34 is the best double stack The Glock 48 is the best 1.5 stack All other lengths and sizes are wack to me, save the 17L for meme reasons.
I carry a full-size px4 with some mods… no Langdon stuff no red dot no light.. full-size ass SA/DA… and it’s relevant because it shoots bullets reliably. Nothing else matters
@@TheKoreanMarksman for sure. I guarantee it has less recoil, a better grip purchase/point to aim with a similar footprint as the 48. Slide may be a little wider but overall I’ve had no issues with it and for the price I find it a steal!

Glocks with a hump/grip reduction, stippling, and Johnny Glocks Vex trigger shoe make it very hard to beat imo.

The 48 is just a 15% thinner 19, IMO if you can carry a 48 you can carry a 19 and should carry a 19.
That's a significant amount of size and weight in the carry world.
Why not get both?
15% is huge when you’re taking about a three dimensional object. That’s like saying a Ford Ranger and a Ford F-150 are the same.
