Cool thanks. This answers my question if I could just unbolt and move the radiator down a little to get access to the plugs. Everyone else was draining it and pulling everything off. I recently flushed and changed my coolant and didn't want to mess with it 👍👍
Chris .P Bacon yeah doing that would make sense if you needed a flush but otherwise doing all that work isn’t necessary and a waste of good coolant and precious time.
Great job buddy. Having an issue with my 2003 CBR. When I turn on the switch that lets the fuel pump prime, I no longer can hear the fuel pump hiss. Darn thing is driving me nuts! Any suggestions? Suggestions Much appreciated. Thanks.
Just changed my plugs today. Thanks so much! My plugs where white on top. I think you said yours where to? Did u ever come to a conclusion on your plugs? I had trouble pulling and pushing out the radiator on mine. The garment was frozen on since factory probably. You have to remove the ram air with all of the side fairing. Thanks for the great tips for the swivel socket and you definitely need a magnetic pen type for sure. I changed out my coolant and oil while I had easier access. Great MECHANICAL DIY VIDEO BRO!!! My coolant was low but green. Also great tip, check advance auto for the plugs before going to the bike shop. You can buy all of your fluids on Amazon for cheaper then a bike shop.
I just had the rad moved forward and just grabbed and wiggled and pulled until it came loose. It’s a pain I guess but manageable. I didn’t really do anything special.
Riakos you must have missed it about 50 seconds in the video I had a pop up that said you only have to remove the side fairings not the front/nose fairing. I just happened to already have mine off so you don’t have to remove it to get at the spark plugs. My CBR600RR was a 2006.
@@TubeSocksMalone yeah you are right... i just re-see your video... thanks a lot for your fast answers... because i will try it... think you need to put some oil in plugs first? or not? i read the previous comments but i am confused... can you explain again for that? and what kind of oil need?
Riakos no problem. Yeah just basically dab some engine oil on your finger and coat the threads. Just helps with the high heat so they don’t seize and the next time they need replaced easier to remove etc. Just regular oil though doesn’t have to be a lot just enough to lightly coat the threads of the spark plugs before installing.
In my manual for my 2006 cbr600rr, the sparkplug gap said to make sure that a 1.0mm wire-type feelers gauge cannot be inserted between the sparkplug gap?
Don’t drain it at all that’s the entire point of just moving it forward. Many people think and show that to do this you remove the rad and drain it. Farthest from the truth. This is the exact way the Honda service manual says to do it. No need to drain anything just unbolt what I showed and move it forward to give you access. Like I said this is the exact way done in the service manual not “my way”.
The Inferno yes. When installing spark plugs you should always put a wee dab of oil on the threads but if you notice oil anywhere else or if you were not the one who installed the spark plugs to begin with you won’t know whether the previous person dab the threads with oil or not so since I found oil on the spark plugs and went 100% sure it’s best to be cautious especially since I noticed a dab of oil that wasn’t located strictly on the threads themselves and best to be safe and run a quick compression test since it only takes a few minutes when already doing the spark plugs anyway which is what I did and it’s fine. If I was the one who installed those spark plugs I would know for sure and I would know to only put a very small amount but since I wasn’t I must assume the person prior did not use any or far too much either way Better safe than sorry 👌 cause oil around your spark plug isn’t normally a good sign.
Thanks Much appreciated. Lmfao yeah the funny part is I was actually phenomenal in English and read about 5 books per week BUT their are still plenty of words I pronounce funny 🤣 if you ever heard me pronounce Crayon you would be like WTF Crown 😂. I know how to pronounce it yet once I get talking I say it retarded. Like Radiator, I say it like Rad when it’s supposed to be like Rei (Reindeer) lmfao I’m conscious of how I’m saying it so hopefully that gives me a pass hahaha. We all have a few words we say that others are like wtf did you just say lol. Have a good one and thanks for watching it’s much appreciated
Carl Roberts BUT I will say by removing the side fairings you are giving yourself more room to work, less likely to accidentally scratch something and it’s just ten times easier in general 👌 it’ll probably take slightly longer to do over just taking the side fairings off quick and put safely aside.
@@TubeSocksMalone silly question is there a way of knowing if your sparkplugs are healthy without takeing them out i have a cbr600rr 2007 its done just over 14,000 miles and has full service history.ladt service done 13.295 miles so when will it need oil change filter and plugs checked again
LMAO maybe a little overkill but doesn't hurt to play it safe. Definitely should at least check your plugs after and before every riding season and maybe even in the middle just to see how things are inside the engine.
What a pain in the ass, it’s my first time trying this. The previous owner faced the white tabs that connect to the coils towards the back on the valve cover and toward the back of the frame for some reason. Literally almost got my finger stuck trying to turn them around, in order to release them. Why would somebody do that to another human being lmao
AAAHHH FUCK, a magnet! Genius! I've been trying to get these fuckin things out for an hour! Too bad I don't have one lol... Screw Honda man, nothing is easy with this bike. My R6 was soon much easier, including air filter, spark plugs, oil filter, everything

Awesome video. Great, straight forward and to the point. Love it!! Just subscribed. I have a2005 CBR 600RR and its my baby.
Did you find the reason of oil on the bottom of the plugs?
Mine 2004 had the same

I’ve seen other video where they remove the coolant tube
Hey great video just a quick question. What’s the spark plug change interval? Thanks!!
16 thousand mile inspection, 32 thousand mile replacement.
Damn it i'm three years too late.
I am stacked... Need a 16mm sparkplug tool right?? I can't hear what are you saying about the size
Riakos 5/8 spark plug socket 👌
@@TubeSocksMalone yeah here in Greece, we count with MM hahaha.... OK I changed it thank youu
Whats the size of the sprak plug key 😊

How did you get the last coil pack off without taking the air box off?
I just had the rad moved forward and just grabbed and wiggled and pulled until it came loose. It’s a pain I guess but manageable. I didn’t really do anything special.
Bro great video!
Need to remove even the front fairings? its seems too much noise just for 4 sparks plugs... :(
what year is this cbr600rr?

Riakos ignore removing the front fairing just remove the side fairings and then follow along with the video

macattack949 correct that is what the manual says. 1mm is .04 inches just a different measurement. If it fits the gap is too big
@@TubeSocksMalone Thanks for the great video bro, and thanks for letting me know that .04 is SAE size equal to 1.0mm
Anytime 👌 Ride safe
@@TubeSocksMalone do I have to drain the coolant before dismounting the radiator?
Markus 275Souljahz also would like to know. Thanks!
Hi do you have to drain the radiator before you drop it ?

You’re not removing the rad just moving it forward and out of the way a bit. Everything is still attached. This is literally the proper way 👌
MotoBike Mike thanks a lot, I just flushed my radiator and changed my coolant so I just wanted to make sure
Do you have aftermarket grips?
Yes I do have aftermarket grips on the 600RR. The ones that are in it are made by Pro Grip.
thank you very much
Thanks for this video pal 👍🏻
Great guides
I always oil my plug threads, before I put them in. I thought it was standard.

You dont have to completely remove the side fairings surely
Carl Roberts you could probably get away with not taking them off but it’s easier. Especially since you have to move the radiator out of the way
