This will probably ruin your analytics tbh. I'm no pro so take this with a fistful of salt, but doesn't youtube punish channels who put out videos with low watch time? This is a video that most of your subs will either look over and not click, or click and click off immediately since they already watched it.
Thta would probably flag this video and maybe the channel as clickbaity, which might lower how often yt algorithm shows your future videos. Especially for such a long video which will have abysmal watch%.

Not exactly, the youtube algorith works by equal measures of account statistics (total videos averages and channel engagement) and on a per-video basis. For example, if this video got low watch time percentage but his other videos got more watch time percentage then it's likely his other videos would be pushed more to people within the genre that the other videos are in. It will also push content based on the types of content people watch or engage with (commenting and liking) so say if you like to watch SmallAnt, you'll be pushed mostly his Odyssey or Pokemon videos but if you like to watch, say, RTGame's Let's Play All Of: [Series/Game] videos (how it was pushed to me) or any stream VOD, you'll be more likely to be recommended this video over any of his other videos. You can actually look at the videos on his channel for showing how they're getting pushed and the engagement with them. His Odyssey content and Pokemon content is exponentially more popular than any of his other content most likely because it's being pushed to fans of other creators such as SmallAnt or PointCrow. The video itself won't be classified as "clickbaity" (even though being clickbaity provides more short-term views) because it's a different style of video and the algorithm will pick that up. Of course the algorithm isn't perfect, it is very prone to error but this is the general gist of it.

UA-cam doesn’t flag channels because one video did poorly. Also you see yters with hours long videos that get millions of views. YT doesn’t look at watch percentage, they look at overall time

@@cjya yeah, you're probably right that they wouldn't flag a channel as clickbaity cause of one video. I was just thinking the algo might serve future videos less if it detects low interest from people clicking off or scrolling past. But, again, I'm no expert, and even the builders of the algorithm don't know how everything works.
