- Written in 1932 for the motion picture ‘Hallelujah, I’m a Bum’, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart’s ‘You Are Too Beautiful’ has been recorded by many jazz greats including Frank Sinatra, Thelonious Monk and Sarah Vaughan. British jazz pianist Derek Smith’s performance became famous for its inclusion in the score for Woody Allen’s 1986 comedy-drama ‘Hannah and Her Sisters’.

Best rendition of this timeless classic from the original motion picture soundtrack of Hannah and Her Sisters (1986).
you can hear thisl lovely piano solo in woody Allen s film Hannah and her sisters
Hannah and Her Sisters brought me here from one of my sudden, and unexpected, whims. This version hit the spot. Thank you.
Watching Hannah and Her Sisters and wondered what this beautiful song was. Thanks for posting!
I’ve been searching for this take. It was in Hannah and Her Sisters, and I think it’s the most moving and thoughtful variation of this title.
When I heard it in "Hannah and her sisters" right away I imagined New York City in the late 1940s at night, elegantly dressed people going to cinemas, theaters or jazz clubs.
Beautiful playing!
This music brings me back to my early years with Frank Sinatra's rendition.
& Also recorded by vocalist, Johnny Hartman with McCoy Tyner on piano, Jimmy Garrison-bass- Elvin Jones-drums & John Coltrane-tenor sax
This is a classic.
The best version of this song Coltrane and Hartman

Do you know if there's a transcription of Derek Smiths "I'm Old Fashioned"?
I was on that same "Hannah & Her Sisters" train. Delighted at where it took me. Exquisite piece.
